Title: Toys "R" Us
Post by: Tamer on June 10, 2008, 06:20:00 AM
Just saw the pic of that B-Wing. I am gonna go see if they have it up for preorder yet.

Didn't see the B-Wing, but it looks like they are doing a free shipping and 50 percent off of clearance items.

My closest toysrus was doing a buy one galactic hero or comic pack and get the other for half off. I wish I could find a deal like this on all the new comics!

TRU is running a great sale on Hasbro items right now! Spend $30, get $10 off, spend $60, get $20 off, spend $90, get $30 off. Also, if you order online, you get free shipping!
Here is the  link to toysrus.com (http://www.toysrus.com/family/index.jsp?view=all&categoryId=3739731)
I wish the y-wing was out. This could help make up for the high price.

Cool deal, my little gal just got a thirty dollar gift certiciate for a belated xmas gift. Free shipping means I don't have to make the long trek and can maybe sneak a SW toy into it. Need to get his info. in on the fp if it is not there. Thanks Clint.

Was going to do that but couldn't find the graphic.
I got it saved now. Thanks for posting that fp story buddy.
I didn't see slot of stuff in the tru site that I was looking for.
I was hoping to find the y wing, snail tank, or the battle packs.
Remember guys, this sale would apply to the gi joe stuff also.

Yeah, no one really seems to know the exact release date of the Y-Wing. It was originally slated for July, and I most recently saw it listed as 10/1. So who knows? Hasbro is unbelievably slack with their shipping protocol for new stuff.

Next Wed (26th) is circled on my calendar though - that's the day the Imperial V-Wing TRU exclusive is supposed to be released! (At least according to the display card at SDCC) That is one baaad looking starfighter.
Title: Re: Toys "R" Us
Post by: Tamer on August 17, 2009, 10:16:21 AM
According to what Hasbro sent us, the YWing should be out by now in some stores. I have a feeling these are gonna sit initially at that price though. Speaking of prices it kind of burns me that the new Imperial Vwing is gonna be way more than the original twenty dollar ship price. Speaking of imperial paint jobs how bout that ARC for 75 smackers? I love the imperial paint jobs, but it is gonna take a megadeal to get me to get any of em!
Title: Re: Toys "R" Us
Post by: McMetal on August 18, 2009, 10:55:11 AM
How much do you think the Imperial V-Wing will be, Tamer? It was listed as $24.99 at SDCC, but I know those prices are very subject to change.

Do you think it will be priced more like the Hailfire Droid? ($34.99 ish)

I think we will be lucky to see if for thirty five as that is waht thier last Vwing exclusive was I think?

Galactic Hunter is reporting this exclusive spotted in Arizona today - list price $29.99. (They even have a photo to confirm)

I'm burned we got none here in VA...they better come in with Friday's truck or else...I'll have to wait some more.  :'(

I was in a TRU today and watched the stockmen assemble a new Clone Wars display but didnt see the new V-wing. No snail tank or new battle packs either.
The two cases of CW figures that they put on the pegs did all contain Clone Cash, though.
Title: Re: Toys "R" Us
Post by: Tamer on August 26, 2009, 06:54:41 PM
So how does one redeem the cash? Is it comparable to real dollars as far as buying new SW products?
Title: Re: Toys "R" Us
Post by: dana.raye.smith on August 26, 2009, 06:57:10 PM
By the posting of the clone cash, it would be safe to guess you also had purchased at least 3 figs to get the cash right?
so what did you buy?
Title: Re: Toys "R" Us
Post by: UnitedStatesDemocrat on August 26, 2009, 07:44:16 PM
Nice addition to the figures.  It looks like Hasbro is rewarding they're fans.
Title: Re: Toys "R" Us
Post by: Clonehead on August 26, 2009, 07:59:18 PM
Actually I didnt even notice the cash was there as I was buying them. I picked up Cad Bane, Denal, and Gree x2 to sell on the bay and while opening three of em for the review and pics for Bane and listing pics for the other two, I seen the cash. After looking at the other three, I noticed that you can look down into the sealed package and notice the cash their in the same way as you can see the Redemption form for the ep 1 qui-gon. the Hasbro catalog is on top, then the redemption form is under that, then, if it is there, the clone cash is under that. If you look carefully, when looking down into the blister from the top. you should be able to see the number 5 on the clone cash on the right side. You may have to shake the package to get the cash to move from under the redemption certificate.

The clone cash is a manufacturer's coupon that expires on 4/1/2010 and entitles the holder $5 off of any Hasbro Star Wars purchase of $20 or more. You can only use one of the coupons in a single transaction. Not for use online but at brick and mortar retailers only.

It says that it can not be used in conjunction with any other offer for these products. I dont know if a retailer special sale like the tru half off ATTE sale would qualify or not.

Anyway, I understand that this years clone cash promo is limited to being inside clone wars figures only and I believe that I read that there was only 200,000 of them out there. Hasbro has stated that if this promo is a hit that they will do it again in the future.
I will certainly put mine to good use.
Title: Re: Toys "R" Us
Post by: dana.raye.smith on August 26, 2009, 08:22:27 PM
Guess that would give almost good enough reason to buy BPs and vehicles, since they are almost the only things that are over the $20 mark.
Title: Re: Toys "R" Us
Post by: Clonehead on August 26, 2009, 08:33:14 PM
Well I guess if you bought 3 figures that would amount to more than $20 on star wars. I'm sure it works that way also. If you find a store that has put out a new wave of figures, and you got the cash, you are set to buy three and get a bit off.
Title: Re: Toys "R" Us
Post by: dana.raye.smith on August 26, 2009, 08:37:18 PM
So it is cumulative and not single item purchases?
That opens a whole different door....
Now if they have enough figs...one 5 spot off per purchase, and you go in and out to buy them on seperate reciepts...
the wife hates when i do that to get around sales limits per customer.... more like per register ;D
Title: Re: Toys "R" Us
Post by: Clonehead on August 26, 2009, 08:42:16 PM
Yep, it just says that you can use only one per any over $20 star Wars purchase. Not just one for an over $20 sw item so that means that anything goes as long as its hasbro and says star wars on it. I will carry my clone cash around from now on just waiting for the chance to use one on something.
Title: Re: Toys "R" Us
Post by: McMetal on August 27, 2009, 07:32:36 AM
Ahhh, Clone Cash...another cruel tease for us "Non-Openers". Who knows how many of those things are sitting idle in my collection, safely locked away MIB.

Clone, I saw the same new CW display up too. It said "Command Your Forces" and I was like "with what? you guys have no stock!".

It was pretty pathetic. Mostly empty pegs, a few of the old carded figs, and some lightsabers and miscellaneous swag.

The other TRU I checked had the same display, but all GI JOE merchandise underneath. Bravo...

I really, really hope that this is a sign they will finally ramp up their CW merchandise and start getting more new stuff. If that Imperial V-Wing is not here tomorrow, I'll be irate.  >:(

Awesome, I love that this thread is active today...

Great pics of the new display - thanks for posting! #2 looks a little more like what I saw yesterday.

The timing for this whole thing seems odd though...we're a ways off from the Season 2 debut and it's not like they've unleashed a torrent of new product in the past weeks.

Clonewise, all TRU really has coming up is the V-Wing and Crumb Bomber exclusives.

Custom - welcome! I just joined a couple of weeks ago and this place is awesome!

Colin, just click on that link that I gave you and on the customs board screen look for the new topic button on the upper right. click on that and it will bring up the posting screen. type a topic title in the bar over the emoticons and then go to the box under them and type your posting. on the lower left click onto the additional options to add your small size vga pics or to link to a hosted image, click on the picture looking control button to the left of the earth button over the emoticons.

TRU crushed my soul today by not having the Imperial V-Wing exclusive in stock yet.  :-[

They didn't appear to have added much of anything, except another Vulture's Claw BP and 2 more Genonosis BP's.

I'm still checking the one across the river tonight but not holding out much hope...

Title: Re: Toys "R" Us
Post by: McMetal on September 10, 2009, 07:40:59 PM
I am really hoping our TRU's get the Imperial V-Wing tomorrow, even if it's too early to score a free Ponds.

Their new CW "super-section" is woefully underwhelming. They've still yet to get any of the new figs, aside from one small case a few weeks back.
Title: Re: Toys "R" Us
Post by: McMetal on September 11, 2009, 09:52:48 AM
TRU had the new Imperial V-Wing Starfighter in stock today - right off the truck! $31.49 after taxes...at least 5 on the shelf.

As I posted elsewhere, this is easily my favorite CW starfighter to date.

And thus ends the best week ever for new Clone Wars toys! (Except for that one week my wife was out of town and I ordered a slew of crud off eBay...)

2-packs, Octuptarra, Imperial V-Wing, just so, so awesome!

OR I could get one FREE with MY NEW Y-WING!!!

Yeah boy, TRU stunned me this morning with 1 of these out on the shelf, in a decent box too. I am so happy to have this one!

That seemed to be about the only new thing they had though.

my TRU stinks bad.
none of the stuff you guys found, and no CC Manuals.

Title: Re: Toys "R" Us
Post by: Clonehead on September 21, 2009, 11:29:57 AM
My TRU is running a special on $7.99 SW figures where you can buy two and get one free. The pegs were kind of picked over and I couldnt find any of the figs on Greg's want list. I tried to talk them into doing that deal for three of the Ponds figures but they wouldnt go for it because it was $9.99, dirty dogs.

I picked up my second Geonosis Assault BP there. It was the only one on the shelf.
Title: Re: Toys "R" Us
Post by: McMetal on September 22, 2009, 05:56:49 AM
That's rich...as if they even had any figs that haven't been rotting there on the pegs for months. TRU is the absolute WORST at stocking new figures, which is ridiculous because they have more display area than any of the other retailers.

None of the ones around here even got any of the last 3 CW waves. And at this rate I don't think the Legacy TPM Wave is EVER going to show up.
Title: Re: Toys "R" Us
Post by: Phatty on September 22, 2009, 12:50:07 PM
Stopped by my local TRU today to see if they had stocked for their sale...nope.  The did have the Lars Homestead diorama/playset on clearance for $29.99.  Might have to get me one of those for a custom diorama, not sure yet.  Also had several of the Imperial V-Wings, and even one of the new Y-Wings, which I DID pass on, but it was hard to do!
Title: Re: Toys "R" Us
Post by: McMetal on September 24, 2009, 07:58:11 AM
The local TRU here had nothing AGAIN yesterday, not even restocks of old junk.

The girl at the service desk said their "BIG trucks" are due to start arriving next week, which I assume means they are beginning a steady ramp-up towards the holiday season.

All I can say is, if those big trucks aren't filled with new TLC and TCW figures, they may as well forget about getting any of my business this Fall. (Crumb Bomber aside)

The local TRU's here did not get the Crumb Bomber yesterday, which is fine, but they better be there tomorrow.

I also noticed that they have scrapped the entire Clone Wars front display as well. Yep, the week the show premiers they pull it down. Brilliant. That colossal display was only up for a few weeks and was perpetually half empty because they are incapable of stockiong toys.

Epic Fail. Just Epic.

I wonder if that would work in conjunction with my $10 off coupon with a purchase of $75 or more?
That could have possibilities, but that is still a very expensive ship.

Our TRU got the new Crumb Bomber in today and one of them is now mine.  ;D

TRU really kills me sometimes. This was a brand new item right off the truck, and where do you think I found it? ON TOP of the action figure aisle, along with the surplus Homesteads, Turbo Tanks etc. I had to get an employee to drag a ladder over just to get one down.

Super product placement there, boys. Lucky for me I am tall and a thorough looker or I could have easily missed them altogether.

Oddly enough, no sign of the other exlusive TIE ship...

Stopped by TRU at lunch and they didn't seem to have gotten anything new really. Definitely no new figs, and no TIE Interceptors. They only had the 1 Gunship leftover from Wednesday out - no new ones.

I did see another Geonosis Assault BP and after a quick but intense personal debate decided to go ahead and buy it. I may need that 2nd Gun Pod one day, and even if not the scarcity of these makes it seem like a good investment. (Especially in the old blue packaging - I have seen shots online of this repackaged with the red motif and marked as TLC, not TCW.  Do I hear "variant"?)

Nothing new at TRU again today...that last Crumb Bomber is now gone and still no Interceptors. Zero new figures as well, shameful.

They did get another GunPod BP, that's about the only thing they seem to restock consistently.

There have been no TIE's spotted here either, weird because we have gotten the Crumb Bombers already. I'll take another look since they re-stock tomorrow but this is an odd delay, IMO.

The TIE Interceptors arrived today. I was suprised about the oddly shaped box, but kinda cool. Seems like a big focus on Legacy right now around here. Looks like they added some more Crumb Bombers too, but nothing else of note. I came away empty handed.  :'(

I asked the lady at my local TRU about the Interceptor and she looked at me like I was retarded, same way with the people at walmart about the AT-ST I want Hasbro to give me an honest answer about whats going on I read a report that they were going to try and get all the waves out to people TRY what does that mean thats not what you want to tell your collectors, then I forget Hasblow thinks the kids are the ones who buy it all not collectors.

You know, we used to have a TRU here in my city, but it never carried much SW stuff. And with figures priced at 10 euros ($15) you wouldn't find me there very often. Apparently TRU have decided to leave the Dutch toy market, because now the store is called Toys XL. And still has a poor collection of cool toys....

Toys'r'us sale starts thursday 29th to Saturday 31st and all full priced items are 20% off.

Adding to that, Lar's homestead pack is now $30, Force unleashed three packs are $20 ($15 at toyworld, so just price match it), TIE fighter and all exclusive TRU vehicles (V-wing with pilot, Hailfire droid) are half price, down to $40 AUS.

I believe this is only in Australia so anyone australian get down to your local TRU this weekend!!

and for all Adelaide residents...thats you and i 00Fire501, a new TRU is opening up at Gepps Cross and is marketing itself to being the largest TRU in Australia. Opens Wednesday November 4th and hopefully they'll have all the new stock (please crumb-bomber!!!)!!!

I hit up a TRU last night.  Absolutely NOTHING NEW!!!  Until I looked *up* and saw CASES of stuff on top of the shelves.  Their pegs are half-empty and have NO new items, but they have CASES of NEW TOYS crammed up on top out of reach???  WTF, over???

I saw Gunship boxes, McQuarrie boxes, Figures boxes, Battlepack boxes, Comicpack boxes...

How the holy hell do they expect to SELL them if we can't SEE or REACH them???

The good thing is they had several $30 Lars' Homestead sets, EVO sets of Imp pilots (Biggs box), Padme, Sith, and Secret Apprentice, older figs (like the Snowtrooper w/ solid skirt), and so on.

I saw the McQuarrie sets just arrived here on Wednesday. Interesting, but not something I need for my collection.

TRU gets new stock again today but I've all but given up on them for the rest of the year. They are sucking hard at stocking new figs right now. They are at least 3 waves behind on TLC alone.

Well, I finally have some GOOD news to share!  ;D

Our local TRU just got the new TCW Deluxe Vehicle/Fig sets in stock, hot off the trucks! I picked up Dooku w/Speeder Bike and Obi-Wan w/Freeco Speeder. (They only had 1 of each, but it was enough)

I was shocked because I went there expecting to find some new BP's, which have also been spotted at TRU today, as per the JTA front page. I don't think any of this stuff is even on TRU's website yet!

This is really noteworthy for me, because this is the first time I have ever broken news on a new toy find that  no one else has yet reported. I mean literally, I haven't heard of ANYONE finding these at a brick and mortar store before today.

You heard it here first! (unless you read it on one of the other 5 sites I blabbed to this morning already)   ;D

that would have been a good score. I got the last atte my store had for 1/2 off today. I even got to use a piece of clone cash on that transaction. I used another one on the tie interceptor and a third on the two new speeders.

They also have a $10 off $100 purchase from 11/30 to 12/24

As for that TRU Ad, I DO believe it's not a black friday ad, but rather their new prices. I was at TRU the other day and the CTT was already $79.99, but no Crumb Bombers in sight.

As for Black Friday, MANY of the retailers offer those same prices online, so that's one way to go.  My wife and her mother go out every year at like 3am to get in line and stuff.  They can have it!

Ugh, TRU is pissing me off right now. Not only is the place a frigging zoo whenever I walk in now, you can't even get anyone to help you over the phone. To make matters worse, I just realized they assigned the same Item # to every single one of their SW BattlePacks, so good luck finding out if they got the Rishi Moon Outpost Attack BP or not.  >:(

And to top it off, I just found out their truck schedule is changing every week now, so new stuff could be arriving at any time. DAMMIT!

I really need that BP so I can stop my hunting...this is the worst time of year to be out there thrashing around with the holiday shoppers.

Well, I spent my lunch hour driving 30 minutes (each way) in a blinding rain storm to explore a TRU I have never been to in search of the new TCW Battlepack.

When I walked in, I immediately spied the telltale red packaging and sure enough, there was the new TLC Endor BP right there on the shelf. At this point, I am totally psyched because I KNOW these are part of the same case assortment as the Rishi Moon BP. So I start looking through the shelves, hmmm...Vulture's Claw, Vulture's Claw, BOOM - GELAGRUB. So I am really getting excited, keep looking...Jabba's Palace, Jabba's Palace, Jabba's Palace.

WTF?

That's it. That's ALL they had. NO RISHI MOON BATTLE PACK!!! So I go up to the front to check the stock count and computer shows 8 on the shelves. But there's only 7. So where's the other one?!?!

I went back and searched for about 20 more minutes to see if someone had stashed it but no luck. What a vicious tease. SO close, and yet so far. Major bummer.

Thanks, I appreciate the offer, but I am going to torture myself a little bit longer looking for this before I throw in the towel. There are still a couple of stores within 60 miles or so that I have not checked yet. (seriously)

The CLOSEST TRU had nothing new this morning, or at least not by the time I got there. Not sure if I will bother to check the other 2 again since I was already at both yesterday and they are a bit of a hike.

Are you kidding me?  Seriously?  If you haven't seen this up close yet, don't get your hopes up.  It is a plain, blue hunk of plastic with very little, if any, detail in it whatsoever.  Now, I know these were on screen for all of half a second and all, and they weren't all that detailed to begin with, but there was NO difference in paint apps, no effort to make it look realistic.  I will be passing on this one big time!

I just read that TRU has those older evolution three packs on sale for 50% off or $10.88. This price is available on their site (http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3193223&camp=SHOPLOCAL%3ATRU%3AToysRus1%2F31%3A4%3A029787%3AToysRus-100131), also. Our TRU's just got re-stocked this morning and I was able to find the TCW 2010 Wave 1 on the pegs! Actually the first store I went to only had Hondo and Jek (and I know noone got there before me, so i think an employee snagged them) , but on the southside TRU I snagged Aayla and Bly as well. They are all awesome.

I've heard of Wave 2 hitting TRU as well, but no sign of them. Still, this is great...enough damage done to my wallet for today.

I'm getting better...hunting smarter, not harder. :)

TRU is an excellent store for pre-planning, as they are the only toy seller that actually knows when their next truck of new stuff is due to arrive.

I'm also staking out Walmart for the new Deluxe Vehicle/Fig packs, but that's a bit harder since I have to rotate through 6-7 every other day or so. (!)

My TRU re-stocked today and I found the new TCW Wave of Deluxe Vehicle/Figure packs. (Anakin w/Sport Skiff, ARF Trooper w/AT-RT, Cody w/BARC Speeder)

I was really excited about this, despite the financial implications. Of course I bought them all immediately.

I also noticed 2 other things of note: they have dropped their basic figure price to $6.99 and they had a ton of BOGO packs ala Walmart and Target. Pretty much the same assortments as far as I could tell...

Good hunting!

Check your local TRU stores, folks. This week they are running a buy 1 get 1 50% off sale on SW figures. Also, TFU figures and the FU figure wave have been rumored to be showing up here in the states.

TRU just plain sucks. They haven't restocked any new SW toys around here for weeks. They have NEVER bothered to order the new wave of Battle Packs either, which annoys me to no end.

There isn't anything worth buying at that suckhole, on sale or otherwise.

Yes, I'm bitter.  >:(

The sale is good through May 1st, same day the endcap is supposed to go up with the EU Wave and new TFU sets.

I will bet all the money I have that our TRU's will not stock any new toys this week in advance  of this promotion. It's like they've just given up altogether.

My TRU got one measly case of the EU Wave today and it was missing Jacen and the Spacetrooper. WTF? I cracked open the case myself and they were not in there!

I did pick up my K'Kruhk though, which is really the only figure I wanted from this wave. He is marvelous.

And yes, that sale was off the hook - 4.99 plus half off the next figure! Gotta love that.

Clint, no luck.  The store had gotten the new fig;s, since I managed to pick up some repacks that had the newest BG-J droid parts in the BAD slot, but none of the really neat new stuff.  I really wanted that K'kruck for myself, too!  No white alien Wing Guard, either.  They had ONE pkg of the Galen Marik set, but I passed.  I figure I'll order them online.   :-\

Yarders, please help.
Title: Re: Toys "R" Us
Post by: DocOutlands on May 05, 2010, 02:51:15 PM
Nailed a white Wing Guard today!  Their EU wave was nothing by the repacks and that one Wing Guard.  Knowing he's hard to find, I grabbed him up.  Shawn, you got first shot at him - wanna trade?  If you find one of the new Shaak-Ti's, I'd do a straight swap.  I also need the right arm and leg of the BG droid from this wave.  (I know you are a MOC'er, so I've not suggested me pulling the BG leg I need from the Wing Guard and sending him on like that!)  I could use a few other things as well, so we can carry negociations to the back room...

I also picked up one of the multi-packs, with Juno et al.  I passed on the Galen in Mando armor, because it looks like all the fig amounts to is a new head and repaint with a neat cloak.  Otherwise, in that set all I was really interested in was the Jumptrooper jetpack.  They didn't build an endcap at "my" store, tho.  Their freight truck comes Monday night/Tuesday morning, and they tend to have all their freight out by 10am.  I'll be there early next week, just in case.  If it works out, I'll grab up all the EU figs they get in, because I know we're all struggling to locate these rascals and some 'Yarder will end up giving each one a good home.

Yeah, well, I stopped by there today and they didn't have squat.  They had a MASSIVE truckload of merchandise in the aisles this morning, more than I've seen in years, but not ONE box of Star Wars items.  I really don't want to buy these on ebay because I don't want to pay $15 plus shipping for each one.

Unfortuatly I had to do just that from BBTS, I have 3 TRU's available, first is 2 hours away (Never got squat) next is 2 and a half (ditto) the last is almost 4 hours away (apparently got one whole case).  Not sure what the deal was on these but they didn't reach everywhere from what I have read and now they appear to have had thier run (wow that was short).  At least according to TRU employees I have spoke with and the word of other people who have done the same (granted they could be just BSing but still its all we got at this point).

Hm.   The TRU sale email I got today only had 20% SW stuff in it.  I'm jealous!  (well, I dunno - I'm working on scoring some other stuff that should assuage my sadness over possibly missing out on an ARC170...maybe...)  ;D  (of course, they had some stuff in there that I wanted...)

Just read over at scum that a better articulated version of the republic commando delta squad is to be released as a tru exclusive also available at entertainment earth. I guess that they are to be unveiled at sdcc later in the month.

Any idea when these will hit the shelves?  I'm sure we've all been after the commandos for awhile...

The Toysrus in Altoona only had the yellow helmed rots clone troopers on the pegs. It was awful, I sure hope they stock these in quantity.

This is probably common sense, but if TRU is one of the only "good" places for you to get action figures, or you shop there a lot, you should remember to get a Rewards R Us Card...  They send you $5 certificates if you hit $150 (man, that's a high number just for $5...), but, if you spend hundreds there, it might be something to think about.  Other than that though, I don't think it saves you anything, like a grocery store card, so I don't really know what the point is, if they have their spending limit set at $150.  (?)

I walked into my local tru yesterday and found a huge star wars display right at the front of the store. The display was picked over and couldnt believe my eyes when I seen a lone Commander Colt fig right on the front of a peg. I went back to the normal star wars section and found a riot control clone, also right on the front of their picked over pegs. I also noticed that their exclusive Rise of Boba Fett ubp was marked down to $75 although they were all gone.

Same here.  I said to myself, "it's back, again", as I saw it...  I love when they have a SW display in the front; (mainly because that means more figs in the other selection...)   ;D

Yeah my TRU had the dislay up but there wasn't any figures hanging up. Just a couple peg warmers. I guess it got raided out already. They told me they were going to restock it so we'll see if I can get lucky.

Both of ours reset and one is just pathetic with no stock at all, new or otherwise to cover all the empty pegs. They didn't even have enough to put out their 4 way stand.

The other store was a little better with at least remnants of some new TCW figures and the Artillery Cannon.

Went back today and they had more stuff out. They had a couple of Savages (shirtless) an Aqua droid and a Commander Wolffe. I didn't buy anything though. The only things I want for CW is the new Ahsoka and Chewie. I did manage to find some 30 Ann. G.I. Joe. So I grabbed a Steel Brigade and a Sgt. Stalker. There is a new TRU openning in my area on Friday so maybe I can find Ahsoka and Chewie then.

Is anybody else seeing little signs in their SW aisle at TRU, reading something along the lines of, "If we don't have it here, we may have it at our warehouse!  Ask one of the sales assosciates to see if we can order it for you."  I might be able to score a few Bastila Shans, if they have them!

I wasn't sure how the y-wing would qualify as it's marked at $29.99 and to qualify for a Blackout, you gotta spend $30 before taxes.
I did get a free blackout today, btw, when I picked up another FU figure set. Still no tvc wave 9 to be found anywhere. "no luck today at target either, Shawn"

I saw those RC's today and mad do they look good! I had to pass them up as I really need to focus my collecting these days. I have decided to stick to the OT for now. I may cherry pick a few things non OT here and there but that is about it for me these days.

That Kmart is a old run down one that I check when I hear people have found new figures. It is crazy, they get new figures first somehow. Most cases they don't even ring up at the register, like today. She had to manualy enter the price. Then they will not get new figures for a while. It is crazy I tell ya!

I went into my local TRU for the first time this year; they were EMPTY, and I'm not exaggerating.  The ONLY thing they had were two Legacy Obi-Wans on the Legacy pegs, and a few Obi-Wans, CW Style, on their CW pegs.  And this was the front of the store, with the new TPM display...   :-\

(I checked the back, and although they still had a Force FX lightsaber on display and the "Star Wars" oval plates in the aisle, it was completely restocked with other non-SW items.  I have to admit that it was sad to see.)

I think I'm going to throw some credit TRU's way.  Just when I'd said I'd all but given up hope on the retail stores in my area over in the Wal-mart thread, I made a trip to TRU (admittedly against my better judgement because I "knew" I wasn't going to find a thing.)  Anyhow, I walked down their SW alotted action figure aisle, and to my surprise was a Bastila Shan and an Aayla Secura behind some of the common, mass-produced VC figs.  Took my breath away because it's the first score I've had in while.  Thank you TRU, you give me hope.

Kind of hard to take advantage of a star wars figure bogo sale when you only have 1 figure in the first place, and a crap one at that. Nice Job, tru corporate heads, once again you have let down a global moderator of an internationally acclaimed collecting site with your lackluster offering of star wars figures. Hey guys, today might not be the last day for this coupon if you store doesn't carry the walker. I was able to get a store associate to sign off to extend this because they didn't have what I wanted.

I also just checked that walker online and while it says free ship to home before you hit add to cart as soon as you do you are told it will only be free to ship to the store. And guess what it showed those same daggone three stores I had been in this afternoon. Well why in the world didn't you send at least one to those stores anyhow! Its a conspiracy I tell you to keep me from getting my ROTJ Walker!

This past week I went to my local TRU and found the individual Black Series 6" figures were $19.99. The Deluxe figures (Jabba, Scout Trooper w/ Speederbike, and the Han Solo/Greedo 2-Pack) were all marked $45.99. A $6 mark-up from their intended $39.99. That was disappointing.

Well now that sounds ridiculous. I would show them their online prices and say whats up with that!

I did order one more Stormy and the Vintage Boxed X-Wing they are having a sale on now. At $40 is sure as heck looked a lot better to me than that Hero version at the same price that doesn't have opening S Foils or a cockpit for that matter!

Ok, I went back to the same store and the sw section still mocked me but in the Joe section, they had restocked two pegs of the clearance retaliation figures, marked the 50th two pack vs sets to $10 each and look at this crazy dedicated peg to 2010 Joe figs that wasn't there a couple of weeks ago.
All they had was gen hawk, blowtorch, and the cc but I wonder if it is a chain wide thing for them to all of a sudden have them or perhaps this store just found them in a corner somewhere.

Seen these were set down to a new price in my local tru this week.
I don't know where they are going to put the new stuff come force Friday because their sw section is filled with a lot of junk.

Their new joe items are trickling in.
They are getting the silent strike set 2 per 1 case for 2 trucks in a row now and had just gotten 1 case of the three packs so far.
Title: Re: Toys "R" Us
Post by: Clonehead on August 19, 2015, 12:30:31 PM
No new sw here.
Been checking the various stores for the limited but accelerating distribution of the new 50th joes and the sw isles are full of empty pegs and fodder.

This post was more to mention that TRU.com just posted the complete wave of joes on their site this morning.
I squeezed in an order for some three packs but when they released the two packs for home delivery,"including the one everyone wants", the site quickly became too clogged to move.
I did have the two pack in my cart and had it yanked from me during checkout like so many others, I'm sure.
They don't restrict the allowed orders like HTS does.

Gotta be at the right place at the right
Time for that one.

I seen it, more site games.
Available for in store pickup only. Of the 4 stores near me, the only one that came up as an option isn't a store in the first place but is a shipping hub.
My guess is that if I go to the door and ask for a snow trooper commander there, they will look at me like I have horns on my head.

The two tru joe items I want always say " notify me when available but they never are". Their store pegs are stuffed with the other packs so those two will likely not be restocked.

And I thought that tru exclusives were easier to find.

Toys R Us lists exclusive 12" Phasma!

I didn't even know this 12" Toys R Us Exclusive Phasma (http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=70815926) existed until my evening trip on Facebook.

"Launch into action and adventure in the world of Star Wars! Discover the exciting stories of good versus evil in a universe of heroes, villains, and aliens. Clad in distinctive metallic armor, Captain Phasma (http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=70815926) commands the First Order's legions of troopers. This 12-inch scale Captain Phasma figure features a shiny, metallic-looking finish and comes with a blaster accessory."

Keep this under your hat, but I just had to pre-order one of these for my daughter this morning for Christmas!

I have seen this go in and out of stock a few times this morning so be sure to refresh later if it says sold out.

everyone see that Toys R Us filed for bankruptcy?

I also posted on the 6" Ackbar Set yesterday. At this point I think I am done with pre-orders from em and will only order if it says in stock. I don't think they are planning on quitting entirely, but I am guessing a major store shutdown and probably going to a lot of e-sales if I don't miss my guess.

I just heard yesterday that they were to quit entirely

I believe that their employees have two months but need to read more on it

I’ll miss going through there and catching their restocks of Star Wars and gi joe lines.
I noticed that if I were to show up at opening time, there would be hotwheel collectors waiting at the door, nervously wondering if I was there to raid the diecast car isle that they were there to check.

I have raced collectors to the Star Wars isle come opening time before.

Trus biggest draw for me was all of the exclusive releases we have seen them distribute over the years.
Those I will certainly miss

They filed chapter 11 back in January, hoping to make it till this Christmas but while still losing money.
They don't have the money to make it that long so they are closing up shop in two months, I believe.

Some stores had already been on the chopping block since January so their closings should happen earlier
They had gotten themselves into debt for several years and last holiday season was rotten for them

A 1/4 Of the sales they expected and less than the previous year

Walmart and target and then finally, amazon are the cause of their sales decline
