Post by: Darth More on July 26, 2020, 04:02:22 AM: Since the new crew at Lucasfilm had less ideas for new good designs, I’m glad that some went back to McQuarrie‘s original concepts. And since nobody wants most of the toys for the Sequel Trilogy, I was able to pick up two of those A-Wings for 9€ each and one for £10 quit.
I opened the one I got from The Entertainer UK because it came in a damaged box. FialaFernbrugg gave me the hint that Ralph‘s concept got a slightly different paint scheme.

Long story short: I hope you got your A-Wings on clearance as well. Both of your repaints look great and are a massive improvement to Hasbro‘s paint job. The weathering adds to the realism and I do like your display stands for your spacecrafts!

Thanks for sharing! I’ll share mine as soon as it’s all painted & weathered up, too!

Thanks Tamer, it's not really my taste but with the front and cockpit being grey i had to try blend it in some how ..she ended up a very dirty girl ;D ..i like them a bit cleaner but it's got bids already so someone must like it, or they want it for parts lol

Post by: Mos-Eisley-Customz on August 15, 2020, 11:56:40 PM: When Chewie die's Han paints the Falcon black for his fallen friend ..so about time i did a black Falcon, here she is a 1995 Lucas film version with lights & sounds, the silver scratching is hard to see on some of these pictures, it looks black on tell the light hits it, the sides have been done in metal effect, new stickers and a custom ramp walkway ..it will be up for sale later today hopefully

I only just recently found that out too ;D ..was wondering what the deal was with these black lego falcons and stumbled across this

When Chewie died in the Expanded Universe, Han painted the Falcon black for a time. Because, you know, he wore black on the outside because black is how he felt on the inside.

Sure, Han claimed it was for reasons unrelated to his pal’s death… But come on. We all know Han was never able to fully express his emotions.

If you haven't, invest in a Tamiya weathering kit. They are amazing.

If you haven't, invest in a Tamiya weathering kit. They are amazing.

Tamiya is my go to for paint too, i use their weathering kits for my sand effects 8)

It does get repetitive like any job, used to do lots of U-Wings but these Falcons are my best seller right now ..hopefully we will get some good cut price deals on that new Slave 1 at some point, would love to weather them but the numbers don't work right now :-\

If you can get them over to me i will do them for free for you in my spare time x---wing ..shipping over the pond is rather expensive right now however, cost $113 to ship one of these Falcons to NY last month

Not even at the half way point yet buddy, this is just the base layer, need to remove some of the black in area's add it in others, do the bottom, landing gear, turrets then i can start the detailing in the pods, sides, landing gear etc ;D

I remember when I was in fifth grade (that was a couple years ago) and I drew this ship a lot! I had a friend who always got mad at me cause I could draw it better than him.

Done a few pictures with the foils in attack mode before i send it back to it's owner, you have to hold the thing because sat on it's landing gear closes them up again, defiantly needs a nice flight stand :)

Yep, it's the POTF2 X-Wing, might be 98 not 97, i will be looking out for that Biggs version too now you have drawn my attention to it, didnt know they did one 8)

Oh right lol, didn't think id seen one ;D ..been looking at the Vintage collection version of the X-Wing and wondering if it's the same as this POTF2 version but without the electronics ..looks like the nose slots on to the new version too instead of being one piece :'(

It would look better with the back done but would it be time & cost effective? :-\ ..not sure i could sell it for anymore and it would take a few hours to paint every inch

It would of been great if the U-Wing was bigger so it could hold 6 figures or so, it would of been huge though ;D ..by soccer you mean football? you know, the round ball that you kick around with your foot ;D lol ..i support my local team Manchester City and watch alot of rugby too but watched NFL since the 80's ..we get most of your tv programs too, we are like the 53rd state haha 8)

This AT-ACT started selling for 300€ here in Germany. Later, it went down to 120€ if I remember correctly. But still I wouldn't have the guts to repaint such a costly vehicle. So much respect for doing such a great job at this!
So need to finally get my BARC Speeder repainted and weathered...

Hi, thank you 8) ..i've never done the insides because i'm not sure if it would increase the selling price or not but take twice as long to paint. maybe i will do one and see how it sells :)

But as I said before I wouldn’t have dared to customize it, even not the second used one for 60€. I was lucky enough to have found a new one at a local warehouse for 50% off, which was 99,99€ back then. The BMF was my holy grail far before HasLab was a thing. But I’m getting off track here.

But this is the reason why I have the greatest respect for your work! I always admire your skills on vehicles. Didn’t you also weather your Razor Crest?

Post by: Mos-Eisley-Customz on August 15, 2023, 09:19:00 AM: Got a bit more done today. need to clean up the dish a bit, replaced the firing missiles on the main cannon with aftermarket parts to give it the correct look. glued them in so they don't fire too, hated that feature on it ..still a fair bit to do, waiting for more paint
