Hi everyone! Been lurking around for a long while. Always wanted to try my hands at customising figures. So this is gonna be my first post here (hopefully many more to come). So here's my first attempt at sculpting a Legends Bothan headsculpt based on the ROTS Saesee Tinn head.
Cheers! DH

Welcome to the 'yards. That's a pretty impressive first sculpting attempt I must say! Looks really good. What medium are you using for the sculpting proper?
-
Oh yeah, very nice.
First off welcome to the Yards. And now time to take your first post to the front pages.
-
First of all, thank you for the warm welcome Starchaser and Tamer! Big fan of both your works! Real glad to finally be part of the community :)
@Starchaser I'm currently using both Aves Apoxie as well as an alternative much more easily accessible here in Singapore; Epoputty+. They both work equally well!
I've always been a huge fanboy of the legendary sithfire30's sculpt works. So here I am a lil bit inspired to start my first full figure from scratch. I shaved down a 2012 3.75 inches Avenger Skrull figure i got from a fodder lot (thus all the paint residue) andddd here's the super secret work-in-progress. Can anybody tell who it is? HAHAHA

Hello there SilverHound and welcome aboard! I'm glad you finally came out of the shadows! I got the feeling there are quite a few members on here who are just sitting in ambush for new ideas.
It's always good to have new active members! So I'm very glad you joined us!
I only know a few customizers who sculpt on a regular basis. I got some skills in sculpting teeth, but never sculpted anything Star Wars related, yet. But your Bothan looks incredible! As you might know I'm a big fan of the Battlefront videogames and a Bothan warrior is on my custom list as well! You really turned that Plo Koon head into a highly detailed sculpt! I'm very impressed.
You made the proportions and the hair look most accurate - everything looks perfectly symmetric. Just amazing!
Thanks for sharing your work and what materials you use. I hope to see more of your work here!
Your Darth Tenebrous looks very promising so far! Darth Plagueis would be proud of you. I am.
Much resprect from Germany!

Look forward to seeing the completed version!

I second that, get the figure ready take forever ! Sand , sand, sand!

The Bothan headsculpt looks phenomenal.
Welcome aboard.

Thanks everyone! Here's a quick update! The sculpt is 60% done. I'm left with the breathing apparatus, tunic, belt, and more clean ups on the arms, feet and hands. Articulation is added to the hands via 2mm x 1mm rare earth magnets! 0/

Looks great to me. Off to share your update.

Excellent
I love original sculpts and I love that Bothan.
I’ll follow Darth Tenebrous with anticipation

Tenebrous is looking really good. You are doing a great job with the sculpting. I look forward to the end product.

Your Tenebrous looks phenomenal.
Clever idea to use magnets for the articulation.
I can't wait to see the finished figure.

Hi all, I've been busy with college :) I'm back here today with a small update. I've always been a fan of the Dark Horse series of comics, especially the Republic and Dark Times run. In the next couple of months, I'll focus on making essential characters! So, while working on Tenebrous, I started on a new project! Presenting a WIP of Khaleen Hentz from Star Wars: Republic! Headsculpt is made from a cast I made from TVC Aayla (imo one of the best female headsculpt from Hasbro). Which other characters would you like to see? Stay tune ;) DH

Wow, she already looks great. Looking forward to more from Tenebrous too. Off to share.

You have a fantastic start on Khaleen, looking forward to some more updates.
