A dedicated, ongoing stream of behind-the-scenes development updates, keeping you informed as The Vintage Collection Jabba's Sail Barge (The Khetanna) makes its way from a dream at Hasbro to a reality in your hands (subject to reaching the minimum backing goal)"

First off, thanks to Tony the Mad Jawa Deida for getting us some awesome coverage and to me what seemed to be the best pictures of it from the Fair. It was cool seeing him in some other YouTube Videos all up inside this thing getting us the skippy.

I guess the biggest issue, that I am sure you are already aware, is that to make this happen it has to get 5,000 backers by April 3rd to ensure it happens. I will be updating this (or if you get to it before I do feel free) fairly regularly so we can see where it is.

I am fearful that by leaving our Foreign Friends out of being able to order this directly (lets face it the size would make shipping prohibitive from the US) we could face an uphill battle as Hasbro has finally given us a chance to own one. To say we as fans and collectors need to put our money where our mouth is always in the back of my mind when I go to see the new total each day. I know it is a lot of deniro and for me it is kind of out of my genre (Battle of Hoth), but if this succeeds I can't even imagine the future possibilities for future vehicles that could finally get to the correct scale.

I have always been awed by seeing the Flag in folks' JOE Collections and we will finally get our chance to own something like this, the biggest thing Hasbro has ever produced in the Star Wars Line. I also thought why not launch the new forums section (why we never started this earlier is beyond me, but remember I have duh moments all the time) with this great vehicle.

I am anxious to hear your thoughts on this vehicle and how Hasbro launched it. Did you order yours? Are you gonna? What are your questions, feelings, thoughts, etc.?

I also have a question. Does anyone know if it comes with that Ithorian Prisoner we saw at the debut of this thing after the Hasbro Presentation on Saturday?

It does. In fact I am under the impression that it is an Ithorian skeleton. But don't quote me on it.

I want this but the MSRP and size are too much. Which makes me sad.

I also hope this isn't the new direction Hasbro goes trying to bait collectors for anything at any price... Because they can.

As of 2-27-18 around 10 AM

Think this is gonna go? Anyone get their order in?

It is amazing to see how much reaction (both good and bad) I have seen with this on the internet. Folks are arguing, celebrating, berating, hopeful, etc. It is such a range of things and garnering energy wherever it goes. I am not waxing political on it all and I know trolls are gonna be trolls anywhere and with everything, but wow. This is being made to be so much more than just a huge cool toy. Sometimes, and not just with this, I wonder if we could just look at this through the eyes of an 11 year old. Thats how old I was when I first saw the Barge for the first time.

Another thing I hope to happen with this line is if it goes will Hasbro give us a few new waves of super arty characters to man up this barge?
Title: Re: Jabba's Sail Barge
Post by: Tamer on February 28, 2018, 09:36:13 AM
We would roughly need around 85 to 86 new backers a day to get this done by the end of the time frame. The average per day lately has been around 50 per day.

Feeling a bit pessimistic today daggone it, I want this Barge! :-X

Still going up a bit. Feeling a bit more hopeful we can get this done.

Also on FB yesterday I pontificated about the fact that if this goes we are probably gonna get a least one new supar arty vintage line for ROTJ as far as basic carded figs. Now thats not something Hasbro has told me, but cmon! Can't you just see some of the obscure Sail Barge Guards and Party Goers getting made too. It just makes too much sense (yes I know what you are thinking here).

And then there is the chance at updated skiffs and who knows even a re-release or new release of the Sarlaac Pit. Just saying a few things going through my noggin right now.

Dear Shawn,

you're not left alone on this hot topic here!

Thank you for your support, Shawn! I wish I could also support the Barge, but living outside the U.S. unfortunately I can't...I might ask my cousin in Florida and some friends in Michigan if I could have this massive vehicle to their addresses...I so I would back two of them. Of cource $499.99 is a lot of money, but I think it's a very fair price for what you get - I mean seeing people going crazy for LEGO's UCS Millenium Falcon for $799.99 is just insane - they come in and sell out right away...why shouldn't we buy the Kethanna for $534, then? I hope Hasbro will open HasLab for international business.

Thank you for keeping us updated!

@Tamer: Here's some news from JTA:

A guy from the UK found a way to successfully back the Barge AND have it shipped to his home address! This might change the game for some international collectors. JTA shared this story yesterday (for the second time). Read the full story after the jump:

@Tamer: No, I haven't tried it myself, yet. This guy has his pre-order shipped to an address in the U.S. - there are some companies like myUS.com that offer addresses in the United States. You can have your shippments sent and deployed there and they will ship it gobally for you. Shipping for the Barge to the UK would cost between $50-$150 as far as I know. I might back the Khetanna at the end of March.

Post by: Tamer on March 05, 2018, 09:22:36 AM
Yeah, thats what I got from it:

1. It will give you a US Address to ship it too

2. You need to use a credit card as it will recognize an overseas paypal and kick it out.

Other than that it looks you are able to order it. I hate too see such a shipping charge, but at least it is not as the cost of barge itself which I was seeing before.

I was out sick for most of the weekend, but here is the latest I have. Wow!
I was down and out yesterday being sick (on St. Patrick's Day no less) and am just now getting my online bearings again. I have a few things to share about the Barge!

1. Dark Side Toys will order and ship the Barge to international customers. Click here (https://www.darksidetoys.co.uk/pages/star-wars-the-vintage-collection-jabbas-sail-barge-the-khetanna-in-uk-europe) to find out more about that.

2. I looks like the Barge is almost to 2,800 Backers!

(https://i.imgur.com/GBD1glP.png) (https://www.hasbrolab.com/)

3. Last and this is just a hint, but if you show up in the afternoon on Thursday 3-22 you might just find out some other exclusive reveals on this bad boy!

It looks to be a fun Barge Week!

Thats cool, did everyone see this at that link?

"Yak Face, my old friend

As mentioned earlier, the sail barge set and collectors booklet will also come with a new edition of Yak Face, a.k.a. the alien grifter Saelt-Marae. Yak Face was the last Star Wars toy produced with the line in 1985, and the brand had faded so much by then that it was only distributed overseas, making this figure one of the most valuable items for collectors.

Yak Face, reborn

This figure is from Hasbro's Vintage Collection, and will be packaged with an exclusive Power of the Force card, complete with accessories and a collectible coin."

Now that is awesome. 13 days left and we are not at 3,000 yet! ::)

Post by: Tamer on March 22, 2018, 01:13:18 PM
Well I am allowed to share this (under embargo until now), but I was invited last week to take part today with a select few to interview Hasbro and the Star Wars Brand Team (Joe Ninivaggi, Steve Evans, and Mark Boudreaux) about this great offering. I will try to do a better job later, but here a basic synopsis of what information I was able to get from the Hangout.

1. If this succeeds they are already thinking about other large vehicles (The Ghost came up) and any Star Wars Movie is fair game (not just Original Trilogy). They also opened this up to multiple scales and sizes of items (not just huge offerings or items at high price points) and I made sure to be specific to ask about playsets. THEY SAID PLAYSETS WERE DEFINITELY AN OPTION!

2. If this does succeed they are definitely thinking about offering figures in subsequent vintage waves to help outfit this behemoth. They didn't necessarily think it would be entirely themed ROTJ Waves, but they did say they were eager to create new characters that haven't seen figure treatment before!

3. I did ask the question about if we did not meet the deadline would this mean our chance was over and they said they did not have a plan for that. We all reiterated (myself and the other fan sites) that there was still plenty of time to see this achieved and the team said they thought there would definitely be a surge as we get closer to the date. When I asked what if we get to 4,999 and the time was up what would we do and Mark said, "I will buy a couple more". I thought that was fantastic. It kind of led me to believe if we get closer we are definitely gonna see this.

4. They also said that whether this particular offering succeeds or not there would definitely be more Hasbro Lab Initiatives to try and get some of those fan demanded items out into circulation. They are definitely not making HasLab a one shot wonder.

5. It was also interesting to hear them debate whether or not to seal the box on this so we could get the Yakface out. The fan sites weren't much help as we were pretty much split fifty fifty on that.

6. Speaking of the box Mark did bring up the shipping box and talked about how this would definitely be shipped well. I am not saying damages may not happen (like my postal workers for example), but Hasbro is definitely trying to get this to us in pristine boxed shape. The MOMC Collector in me smiled at that.

7. Another good question was asked about how much of this we will have to put together. Mark answer that the overall hull will pretty much be full built, but we would need to put together the sails and a few of the pop out pieces, cannons, etc.

8. Mark also went into detail about the design aspects and how they had to agree on the type of wood, metal, etc. they were going to fabricate in plastic to make sure this was as close to authentic as it could get. Starting in September they spent hundreds of hours just on the design phase including going into the original designs at Lucasfilm to make sure they were as authentic as possible. What I also like was that Lucasfilm was also very much hands on with the interior design (something Mark had to create some of himself). The attention they paid to this was just incredible folks.

9. Another site asked about how they came up with the Khetanna for the first big initiative like this and Steve said it wasn't too hard a decision as folks have been grilling for this for years. He noted there were a lot of other items to choose from, but this was pretty much a no brainer. I for one didn't disagree a bit. It was also interesting to note here that he brought up a few other iconic vehicles and while I don't remember them all I do remember him mentioning the new AT-M6 (Heavy Assault Walker from TLJ).

We were then given an up close and personal tour through this and I found out a few other things:
-there is a trapdoor at the top into the prison (where the Ithorian is located)
-they are designing the rails, etc. so that existing figures with accessories will work
-they purposely did not include figure pegs so you can position your figures wherever you want
-they made the back section a little bigger so the new Yakface can stand up
-the sails can be removed if you would like
-ports do open up at many places for the full hull
-Jabba's dais does move a bit
-the two smaller upper cannons that come with this do move and are removeable
-they also designed this with the idea the folks may want to add their own lights (nice!)

I tried to take decent notes, but I am sure I may have missed a bit, but hopefully that gets you even more excited for this. It was just great fun having the team there to really show this off and answer our questions. They were very gracious and open. I will definitely think on this on my drive home and see if there is anything I missed.

I'm seriously considering a second barge right now, and I don't think that is healthy.

Me too. I am going to be seriously disappointed if we don't get this now. Part of me wishes I hadn't seen it up so close and personal.

Just saw this on HasLab:

"You supported it. Now we're making it!
You did it! Thanks to your overwhelming support, Jabba's Sail Barge (The Khetanna) campaign was successfully backed. We could not have done this without you. Now it is our turn to get to work making this dream product a reality.

In addition to your order confirmation email, you will receive a shipment notification email once Jabba's Sail Barge (The Khetanna): Behind the Workbench booklet is on its way to you. At that point, we will also charge your preferred payment method. If your card is declined (this happens from time to time), you will receive an email letting you know that we cannot process your order. You will have 3 business days to call our Customer Service team to update your information.

As we work towards an estimated sail date of February 28th, 2019, we want to stay as connected to you as possible. We will be sending periodic email updates (make sure you are subscribed!) as well as keeping this section updated with the latest photos and information direct from the development team.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Customer Service team at 1-800-408-0052. We couldn't be more excited and are thrilled to be on this journey with you."

Looks like they are still processing things a bit and then will send out the payment charged emails.

That's okay as long as the number of backers doesn't decrease to under 5,000, again  ::) ;)

@The Spectre: Congratulations mate! Tamer is right, you won't regret it! I wish I could've backed it, too, but with shipping and customs I would've ended up around $1,200 - even if I ordered it from DS Toys in the UK - and that's just way off. $534 is actualy a great deal!
I wish Hasbro makes the Khetanna also availavble outside North America.

What's actually the deal now? Will only as many units of the barge be produced as there were pre-orders? Or will Hasbro produce more once the 5,000 backers were gathered?

Darth More to answer your questions, since this was backed the chances to see it at regular retail outside of Canada and the United States are pretty much expected. They could also rerelease it even in the states although they have said they will change it a bit (inference here is it won't be the same packaging, packs in, paint deco, not as nice in general).

And here is an email I got yesterday for HasLab:

"Campaign was successfully backed!

Thanks to fans like you, we are thrilled to announce the HasLab campaign for The Vintage Collection Jabba's Sail Barge (The Khetanna) is fully backed.

Before you know it, you'll be opening a (very big) box with a piece of Star Wars™ history inside. In the meantime, we will be sending you a copy of Jabba's Sail Barge (The Khetanna): Behind the Workbench booklet. Due to the incredible response from the fan community, the new estimated ship date for the booklet is 4/25/2018. We will also charge your preferred payment method at that time.

Be sure to stay in the loop throughout the production process via HasLab email updates, or by visiting the updates tab. Email updates will be sent to the email address you provided at checkout, so make sure you don't unsubscribe! Questions or concerns? Call us at 1-800-408-0052 and we'd be happy to help.

Thank you for keeping us updated, Tamer! The Khetanna should finally start shipping in the United States and Canada in just one month! The long wait will finally be over for all people who could back the barge!

For everyone outside North America I just sent a message to Hasbro's Customer Service in the U.S.
Their customer service for Germany always refers to them when it comes to questions on products, distribution and development because the headquarters on Rhode Island are in charge for that.

So here is what I wrote:

_________________________________________________

Please Choose a Product *: Star Wars

Category *: Request

Subject *: HasLab project SW Jabba's Sail Barge (The Khetanna)

Question *:

Dear Sir or Madam, Dear Hasbro Team,

at San Diego Comic Con 2018 staff members of the Hasbro team, Steve Evans and Joe Ninivaggi, gave an interview and also answered questions about the upcoming Jabba's Sail Barge.
Making this excellently designed vehicle available outside North America was also on topic on SDCC'18. The Khetanna is going to be shipped there in February 2019 as far as I know. Are there any further plans on distributing the Sail Barge in Europe, too? Will there be an official announcement by Hasbro?
I would be beyond happy to see this become available in Germany and the rest of the world. And I know many other fans and collectors in the United Kingdom, Australia, France, Spain and Mexico would LOVE to buy it, too, instead of paying a fortune for it on the aftermarket plus insane shipping costs and import fees...
I keep this message short, although this topic is highly emotional and discussed since its reveal on most forums and social media.
Please, take your faithful customers and fans outside North America into account, too.
Thank you for your support and best regards from Germany!
Philipp M.

___________________________________________

I didn't find the exact interview from SDCC, but I know that people are still waiting for an official statement by Hasbro. My writing might be a little exaggerated at some parts in order to make them aware of its importance.
Let's see what they answer...

I know that Dork Side Toys offered a limited amount of Barges for pre-order for European countries. I'm excited if this will actually happen. Back then I didn't want to pay 599.99 GBP plus import taxes...

UPDATE:

Shortly after I had sent the message to Hasbro, I received an automatic conformation that my message was received and answered, soon. Nothing new here, BUT interestingly this confirmation came from the German customer service, although I sent the request to Hasbro U.S.!
I had to sign up at Hasbro Customer Care so they know I'm from Germany.

And I haven't received an answer, yet, which is odd, too. Hasbro usually answer quickly.
My message might've gotten lost OR the reason for the delay is something else...

I got a strange feeling about this...and will keep you updated!

Cheers!

As expected, my request was automatically directed to the German consumer service, instead of the American. Also as expected they kindly told me that they have no information at all about this product (the Khetanna) and that they are unfortunate that they couldn’t give me a more satisfying information.

I wonder why it had almost taken them 2 weeks for that answer though...

So no surprise here - let’s wait for ToyFair and keep our fingers crossed.

You're exactly right and as expected the aftermath on the aftermarket is going crazy already. "War" describes this well and this war has begun.

Here's the first auction I know of for the complete Khetanna (+ Saelt Marae):

https://www.ebay.de/itm/STAR-WARS-JABBAS-SAIL-BARGE-KHETANNA-HASBRO-HASLAB-NO-YAKFACE-March-Delivery/283358215302?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20170511121231%26meid%3D3977ad79caee42d281790d34b4eb7a4e%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D264178605168%26itm%3D283358215302&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A28273370-2de1-11e9-8436-74dbd1801335%7Cparentrq%3Adbee81721680aa6697b98b3effbbd5e1%7Ciid%3A1 (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5575055288&toolid=10001&campid=5337377665&customid=&mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.de%2Fitm%2FSTAR-WARS-JABBAS-SAIL-BARGE-KHETANNA-HASBRO-HASLAB-NO-YAKFACE-March-Delivery%2F283358215302%3F_trkparms%3Daid%253D111001%2526algo%253DREC.SEED%2526ao%253D1%2526asc%253D20170511121231%2526meid%253D3977ad79caee42d281790d34b4eb7a4e%2526pid%253D100675%2526rk%253D1%2526rkt%253D15%2526mehot%253Dpp%2526sd%253D264178605168%2526itm%253D283358215302%26_trksid%3Dp2481888.c100675.m4236%26_trkparms%3Dpageci%253A28273370-2de1-11e9-8436-74dbd1801335%257Cparentrq%253Adbee81721680aa6697b98b3effbbd5e1%257Ciid%253A1)

Let's see where this ends...

As written in the comments on JTA I agree that this has nothing to do with scalping (talking about auctions, not buy-it-now offers). These show how high the demand is. At this point a big shout out and thank you goes out to Hasbro for completely ignoring the demand for the Khetanna both national and international. I'm sure there were quite a few people in the U.S. and Canada who were able to back the barge, but just didn't have the $500 spare until the due date.
Even if I lived in North America I would've needed more than these (was it 6 weeks?) to save the money to back it, too!

Oh, and here is another nice offer for the Yak aka Face:

Thanks for sharing the news! I apologize for my screenshots still being partly in German although I change settings to ebay.com in the app. I really need to figure something out for that...

I suppose this barge will be sold between $1,200-$1,400 since there are buy-it-now offers starting from $1,400 U.S.
The "cheapest" offer has 60 people watching and there was one of two sold for $1,475 already from another seller...this is beyond crazy but was MOST DEFINITELY being expected to happen!

Again, thanks Hasbro! Hope their next HasLab projects will be somewhat smaller and more affordable...even on the aftermarket! Cheers!

Let's see...

-Packages will be in a double heavy duty shipping container with corner protectors

-You have to be present to sign for your Barge Delivery

-They have included the Assembly Instructions (https://www.hasbrolab.com/assets/barge-inst-far.pdf?_ke=eyJrbF9lbWFpbCI6ICJzbGdyb3Zlc0Bmcm9udGllci5jb20iLCAia2xfY29tcGFueV9pZCI6ICJMcXB2V1MifQ%3D%3D)

I was actually able to log into FedEx, create an account, and get this delivered at a time I was able to be home so all should be good. It was a five dollar charge, but getting this in my hands is worth it. I also could have had it shipped to a new address for about the same deniro. Now all I have to do is get through work on Tuesday!

Mine is here and is undamaged! The outer box had some small corner crushes and one cable tie cut, but because of the inner shipping box and protection it come through great.

Now to get to work on a shelf to display this!

Rodger I figured you were going to do something epic with this. Great start!

Off to share that on the front pages.

Rodger, I love your workshop! It seems like you never run out of space!
Congrats for having received your barges safely, gentlemen! Now, I go and listen to "He's a Pirate!" and work on my drafts for my own Khetanna. I think: If Hasbro won't give me a chance to buy this from them, I'll just build my own...

I wish you a great time with this dream having come true!

Shawn, it seems you received your Khetanna in one of the variatio shipper with black print. Nice! And most imprtantly: FedEx managed to deliver it without damage.

Best regards from Germany!

Thank you for the update, Shawn! I'm not looking forward to this event tomorrow. Hasbro are stressing their customers more than necessary. They could've solved this better from the beginning for both customers in North America and the rest of the Earth...
I'll let you know if I get lucky or not. Let's see.

Thank you Tamer! Your good wishes brought luck to me!

Long story short: I didn't make it home on time because my train was late...still I got one. And it's already paid via PayPal. As far as I know the first 310 units sold within 3 minutes - less than I expected with over 2,300 people watching . But the first 400 had sold by 15 minutes after the offer went live and now the auction is ended (3:15 pm EST).

This could mean two things.
1. Hasbro sell them in bits to maintain control.
or
2. There were only 400 for the international market (which I don't want to believe). There must be around 1,000 units left for the international market, which still aren’t many.

Add: so many typing errors - my hands are still shaking! I'm very glad my mobile internet connection didn't let me down.

After thinking about the entire procedure for a night, here's the summary of how I could purchase the Khetanna in Germany:

1. I bought the Sail Barge with the eBay app on my cell phone (iOS). It was connected to my university's WiFi. The auction went live about 20 seconds after 3 pm EST, 8 pm GMT+1 (Berlin).
This delay might've been caused by transmissions beween international servers, the website on eBay being that busy and/or the speed of my cell phone/app.

2. Payment with my credit card was not accepted. I had to re-type its number and lost precious seconds. Simultaniously I was asked by a lady, why the building was already closed (I was standing right in front of it, just for the WiFi connection). So this pushed my pulse even more. What an adventure with Hasbro Pulse...
So on the second try I chose PayPal as payment option, which was successful, but not the best solution for me. But I didn't take the time to select the initially planned shipping address. I think I have to deal with that and do some further logistics when it arrives...if it arrives.

I honestly suspect eBay to do this on purpose. $200,000 USD plus another $200,000 USD for shipping & import fees deposit changed owners within 13 minutes and I'm sure PayPal and eBay wanted to get as much $$$ of that amount as possible with their fees.
Not cool.
On the other hand PayPal is the safest payment method for me.

3. The purchase was completed after I paid with PayPal. I received two bills:

    - Seller: eBay - HasbroToyShop (hasbro-pulse)
Item: Star Wars The Vintage Collection Jabba's Sail Barge (The Khetanna)
      Price: 499.99 USD
      Exchange Rate: EUR 1 : 1,085 USD
      Price (in EUR): 460,82€

    - Pitney Bowes, Inc.
      Positions:
      Import charges: 196,36 USD
      Shipping: 209,98 USD (Destination: Germany)
      Amount: 406,34 USD
      Exchange Rate: EUR 1 : 1,085 USD
      Price (in EUR): 374,51€

Total: $906.33 USD  //  835,33€ (EUR)

At its peek back in 2008, the exchange rate was EUR 1 : 1,58 USD (and even at 1,61!!) when I was in New York. So back then I would've paid 573,63€ instead of 835€, but I better don't think about it any further...

I haven't heard of Pitney Bows, Inc. before but I found out that they are specialized on logistics:

https://www.pitneybowes.com/us

And I wonder if Hasbro work together with them on a regular basis. It doesn't seem as if FedEx will deliver the international Barges. I'll probably receive clarification on this later.

4. Approximate delivery (according to eBay) after completed purchase/before shipping: April 4 - Apirl 17, 2019

Note: I assume it'll take at least two weeks and hope to receive it by the end of April. After waiting fo so long and not expecting to ever get it for the regular $499.99 (plus) I honestly do not care how long it will take to arrive here in Germany. Most important to me is that it arrived UNDAMAGED.
I doubt there will be a possibility to return it if damaged.

5. I haven't received an official message from the seller (HasbroToyShop - hasbro pulse) with business & return policies or a shipping notification, yet.
I will keep you updated and will post my comment on the entire thing later on.
I wouldn't be surprised if my order was cancelled, again because this was just a whole mess.
Only and when I have the Barge standing in front of me, I believe it actually worked.''

So far this has only been a crazily expensive venture for me.

And the second disappointment besides the restricton/"error" of Payment Methods is that eBay showed me a total of only 805,48€ whereas PayPal will book 835,33€ to my bank account!
Not fair.

Let's see what happens...

Tamer: You were right. The auction went live on time at 3 pm EST and ended at 3:12 pm EST.
400 units were sold.

If this is it, it would be ridiculous.

I still hope there will be a second run and that everyone reading who wanted one, successfully got one.

"THIS IS MADNESS!"

I still wish you good luck ladies & gentlemen for further supply by Hasbro and a safe delivery across the planet!

May the force be with us all!

Heads up from Germany!

Yeah, shipping costs are high. In comparison it’s “only” $123 to Australia.
Talking about shipping: My Barge left the City of Industry in Chino, CA. From there it went through New Mexico and Oklahoma and has arrived in Marshall, IL now. I suppose it’s going to leave the country from Chicago then.
PayPal have booked the momey from my bank account today. I really hope it will arrive - in best case - undamaged.

And today I also found this quick review from Rebel Force Radio on YouTube:

To me this is as creative as it is nostalgic. If there had been a review  contest from HasLab, my vote would’ve gone to this one here!
Such a brilliant idea!

Thanks for sharing this! It gave me such a good time - had some good laughs!
It seems that the Barges heading to Europe left Kentucky to their international destinations! Mine got shipped with the one from Only One Kenobi from the UK. So let's see which international delivery partner will process them better...I don't care when it arrives - most importantly is that it arrives undamaged.
I'll keep you updated!

One thing I have also read is that Hasbro has extra vintage boxes ready to go in case the vintage deco box gets damaged. That is nice. I plan on trying to really make sure my box is good this weekend in case I need to contact Hasbro's customer service to get one.

Yes, that was the official statement, but after some weeks of holding people on the line, they stated that they were not responsible for damages caused by the carrier...

Well, fortunately I don't need a box replaced - after some delivery delay & worries, the Khetanna landed at my place, today!

Luckily the scratches and dents on the shipping box didn't go through! Except for a bumper on oone side and two dented edges, the box is okay...

Yes, indeed! I’ll share pictures once I get to open and display this monster!

Meanwhile, I spotted the first Yak Face VC000 here on ebay in Germany.
It sold for 399€ or a little less.
A Sale Barge is also on sale for 2,300€ - one sold for 1,500€.

I got no words for that.

When I was taking pics for the Desert Skiff Review I made a setup with the Khetanna, too. I finally got her to her final destination. Had to move her accross the country for that, again.
Here she is:

That sounds excellent! I thought of setting up a display on my 150x110 cm plate for modular dioramas. I'm only in need of a Sarlacc Pit. Hopefully Hasbro will give us one next year. I can't throw out $200 for the TLC version...

Talking about burning treasures: Disney had nothing better to do with the Khetanna, but burning it down:

Make sure to double-click for full screen view. This might be painful to watch...

I mean who in the entire universe would be as stupid, ignorant and wasteful if not Disney? When money and esteem for work and values don't matter anymore...
It's still nice to see the original crew of ILM gather for this occasion, again!

Go ahead and burn it down! Burn it all down what's left of our beloved franchise, Disney. I heard there's a choking hazard with so much greed.

I made up my mind overnight. Here are some more thoughts of mine about Hasbro's tease of a new HasLab project:

It'd make sense if they made a starship now. Honestly, my personal favorite would be a Republic Gunship that's in actual 1/18 scale. But since an LAAT/i already exists in TVC, it's extremely unlikely - even though it's just another repaint since 2002.

A Razor Crest might be the current fan favorite. But since it is, it would sell right through even though a regular release would probably scaled down by quite some inches.
Let's not forget that many long-time fans have been asking for a new Imperial Shuttle Tydirium long before The Mandalorian aired!

A Sandcrawler on the other hand would be great either, but a real surprise to me since it's another ground vehicle and Disney released one just recently for their park exclusive Droid Factory.
So I log the Imperial Shuttle as my top choice for the next HasLab if it's going to be a starship. If it is a playset, I'd still go with a fully equipped Cantina.

The LAAT and the Imperial Shuttle have more play value to me as far as troop transport goes. The Razor Crest on the other hand is probably the newest object of imagination and adventures. Either way, I hope it'll be good!

Let the conjecture begin!

I am definitely down for the Razor Crest. Fingers crossed if they do it they do it in the right scale.

I would sure love a Star Destroyer too. Or a new Republic Transport ship. Or an Ion Cannon. That would be cool. Or and AT-OT.

With the love the Mandalorian is getting now I would say the Razor Crest is probably the favorite. They figure they get some deniro before all the 3D Printers out there starting making them and selling them.
Title: Re: Jabba's Sail Barge
Post by: Darth More on June 24, 2020, 07:24:12 AM
Well said, that’s a good point about the popularity of the Mandaorian against rising possibilities of 3D printing! If they do make the Razor Crest, backing it won’t be an issue at all. It is by far the favorite choice on Facebook as far as I’ve read through comments.

As I just learned, the Crest is a Military Transport, too! And I’d be happy with a big model of this beauty as well. I’d definitely love to see an AT-OT! I just don’t see Hasbro do it if they don’t even re-issue the AT-TE. So that’s probably safed for a 3D printing project.

Let’s see what it’s gonna be.

I’m on the train right now on my way to SmythsToys and to pick up some LEGO. I’ll post my next store report in a couple hours, then.

If I had to place a 100 bet on what the next HasLab project will be it would be as follows. $50 on Death star playset. $30 on Razorcrest, $20 other. I'm thinking it will be OT again. Death star playset is one of the most popular playsets ever. You have to imagine this has been in the planning stages for at the very least a year, so Mandolorian hadn't been released yet. It's still possible. A fan made the Barge before Hasbro did, then they just took the idea, after seeing it's popularity. Fan's are making the Razorcrest, and they're popular. So I'm putting $30 on that. Then $20 on a wildcard. I've heard Tantive IV being thrown around. Since we're still in the TESB 40th, could be a cloud City playset, to go with the carbon freezing chamber. It could almost literally be anything.
Wishful thinking tells me Death Star playset. I got a bunch of homeless Imps.
Title: Re: Jabba's Sail Barge
Post by: Tamer on June 28, 2020, 05:49:19 AM
I like your idea about Cloud City, maybe they already have the grapple and other things ready to roll out and that playset would fit into it. I could so see Hasbro doing that.

I would be ok with a Death Star Playset too. I think the nice thing is you know it is gonna be done up right as with the HasLab Projects they don't limit themselves like do with regular releases.
