I have been wanting to do dioramas for a while but kept procrastinating and couldn't figure out what i should start with .But i found something that would be a bit on the easy side for me , and interesting since this one dio will make two diorama scenes ! These few photos are very early wips but i will be adding more when more work gets done. Any guesses lol Enjoy !

But for the record i am not liking the mess Styrofoam makes ...Geez lol so you can see i did alot trimming and got rid of the plastic base that the lars homestead came with . I outlined it in the base and cut away so the stairs would look as if its in the base. I also put it together just to give you all an idea of the scale of the dio, and its big. Once that was done i found a spray paint that simulated a sand look . I sprayed the base; then on the top which you can see i am using real sand. I went to the beach and scooped up a good amount lol. i put a layer of glue on the already painted base then coated it with sand . I am happy with how the effect looks the hut has a ways to go but i started the basic weathering to it . I am presently working on the debris and the sand that the generator sits on . Enjoy

Tamer i totally hear you there . Unfortunately my place is on the small side to properly display any of my work. lol i have no clue what i am going to do with this dio when completed lol I suppose i could try and sell lol

Thank you Sprywalker more is coming My friend ! I have to say this is and will be one of the most detailed projects i have done to date so far , as i am really trying to get every last detail into this Dio ! Stay tuned for more pictures

TheClosetjedi, thank you for you comment , To answer your question it is the Hasbro set i was just never happy with the base the set came with . I did so much trimming so the hutt and the stairs would fit into the Styrofoam base and look as if the hutt was part of the new base .

This was a big chance but paid off instead of real sand i went to one of those gadgets and gizmos store and bought a bunch of that sands alive which gives it a sandy wet look and never dries out . So i took advantage and molded it around the generator and painted it . Call it beginners luck but i think it worked perfectly ! I am still working on the Debris and painting and that will be included in the next update . Enjoy and back again in a day or two! I have also included a bonus pic just to give you all an idea where this is going . Thanks again to all who look and take the time to comment .

Tamer thank you so much for those words ! This truly is my first diorama. Again call it beginners luck lol ! That last picture is just an idea i still have a ways to go . But This diorama is going to make two scenes one which was in the movie which you see it coming together. But the second which will be the first in the series, and was a scene not in the movie . Stay tuned i am putting the debris in place as i finish this post. Thanks again

First i had a lot of help with the pictures, and note you will see some of the same pictures with different angles. I figured if you doing something for the first time make a big splash and that is what i hope to do . I have included the parts i did for the diorama to show the level of detail i wanted to accomplish . Second you will see some added special effects on two of the pictures. And three a sneak peak of whats to come ! So lets say like many of us i wondered what and how the scene would look like had it been filmed , of the deaths of Owen and Beru. This is what the first part of my diorama is based on . If you have any questions or comments for anything please feel free. I am hoping to be finished by tomorrow or end of the week with the final scene ! Enjoy

Thank you very much Tamer ! That is exactly how i thought it went down ! I like to think Owen gave the troopers a real hard time and was ready to fight them before he was taken out !

Thank you kindly darthwalls ! The generator is simply a sturdy paper plate while the lid on top is simply a peanut can lid lol . Spray painted in a gun metal gray .

You actually need to put together a 20 page thread to explain how you made all the individual parts. For instance, how did you make the skeletons.

Thank you Sjefke ! I will do my best to answer starting with your first question the skeletons were purchased from Boss fight studios part of their series 1 H.A.C.K.S set which i highly recommend if your looking for skeleton bodies. The articulation is incredible . The gray pipes on the side of the Hutt i made using super sculpy , the barrels and baskets i got real lucky i found these in an arts and crafts store in the doll house section . I just happened to walk past it on accident while getting another can of spray paint. the boxes i had already from old figures accessories as well as the debris. The pipes i just made from wires and plastic hoses. The last few pieces i got creative and used a R5 head and mounted it on a base the same for the fx-7 head i used . The last one was from the very hard to get security droid that came with the jawa . i just removed the base. If you read the other posts the generator is simply a sturdy paper plate and on top a lid from a peanut can . That's really it . I am now presently working on the smoke effects for the generator . And trying to find the right material to use the cotton i am using is not working as well as i thought . any suggestions i would love to hear ! thanks again

Goose down and Locktite flexible glue used VERY sparingly.

Thank you Sjefke ! I will do my best to answer starting with your first question the skeletons were purchased from Boss fight studios part of their series 1 H.A.C.K.S set which i highly recommend if your looking for skeleton bodies. The articulation is incredible . The gray pipes on the side of the Hutt i made using super sculpy , the barrels and baskets i got real lucky i found these in an arts and crafts store in the doll house section . I just happened to walk past it on accident while getting another can of spray paint. the boxes i had already from old figures accessories as well as the debris. The pipes i just made from wires and plastic hoses. The last few pieces i got creative and used a R5 head and mounted it on a base the same for the fx-7 head i used . The last one was from the very hard to get security droid that came with the jawa . i just removed the base. If you read the other posts the generator is simply a sturdy paper plate and on top a lid from a peanut can . That's really it . I am now presently working on the smoke effects for the generator . And trying to find the right material to use the cotton i am using is not working as well as i thought . any suggestions i would love to hear ! thanks again

I love Bossfight stuff... one could only imagine what they could do with the SW license.

Panther thank you as well for watching and your comments. The black smoke on my first try wasn't so good since i was using plain cotton , but i wound up using cheap pillow filling spray painted it and was able to shape it , and was very happy with the results this time around.

Thank you kindly Tamer ! I am very happy with it . The next dio will not be as big or as intricately detailed but it will be just as good . I will be using the same technique for the sand as well . But i have a few ideas how i want to do this one as well! Stay tuned !

Thanks a lot JDeck . To answer your question i spray painted the smoke once it dried i kind of shaped it and stretched it a bit more and gave it a second coat of spray paint .

Thank you buddy ! i Started out using regular cotton balls but i was not liking the way the effect was turning out , so i went with cheap pillow filling i got from a crafts store . and it was much easier to give it the effect i was looking for !

Thank you JDeck its half the size of my kitchen table lol ... its about 26 inches width by 31 inches length ! which was the same dimensions as my Lars homestead Diorama ! Now i have to take it apart and store it lol
