This is the first commission I've ever done, and I'm happy with the results.  I hope my friend is to!

Nikto Rebel Pilot:

head- Klaatu, TVC
body- Luke Skywalker, TSC
hands- some random Darth Maul... (the figure was helmet-less and hand-less when I got him)
helmet- Porkins helmet, modified to fit the head perfectly.

I love making alien versions of pilots and jedi.

Post by: Coruscant_Cantina_Customs on May 19, 2016, 02:13:20 PM
Here's a really quick update!  I created a "steampunk" lightsaber for a friend, influenced by Ezra's lightsaber from Star Wars Rebels.  It's made from random pieces I found in my fodder bin, so I don't have a recipe.

That lightsaber looks great. It could even double as a really old model with an extra battery pack or something. Great job with fodder bits.

Sorry I haven’t posted in awhile!  My fodder supply is greatly depleted, so I can’t find parts to assemble any figures right now.  It seems like all I have are decapitated POTF figures…  Any way, until I can find some reasonably priced fodder, I’m devoting my free time to constructing modded weapons and accessories.  Hopefully I’ll be able to make figures to accompany them soon!

Here's a figure that I've had completed for a while, but as it's a pretty simple one, I decided I needed a cool gun to accompany her.  Here's my female Falleen Smuggler.

Recipe:
head- TVC Barriss Offee (dremmeled)
braid- random Skylanders figure, painted.
body- Cato Parasitti

The gun was assembled using parts from several different G.I. Joe and Star Wars weapons that have been chopped up, glued together, sanded, and weathered.

I don't yet have anything to sculpt with, but when I do, I'm going to try and make her look more reptilian.

I present:  Quinlan Vos astride his faithful steed!

Here's a custom I'm super excited about!  I've been gathering parts to assemble Joruus C'baoth for a while, and I finally picked up a LOTR Gandalf at a swapmeet, and was able to finish.  All softgoods are sewn by me, and I hope to do more softgoods in the future as I really enjoy sewing!

Insane Jedi Clone Joruus C'baoth, from the Thrawn Trilogy.

Recipie:
head- Gandalf
torso and arms- GI Joe (Sorry, I know nothing about Joes, so I can't tell you which one)
legs- Bail Organa
medallion- custom made by me out of necklace chain and an earring base.
soft goods robe and skirt- custom made by me out of cotton cloth, whetted and dried to drape correctly.
lightsaber- misc. fodder (hilt), party toothpick blade, (I intend to redo this when I acquire a green lightsaber blade.)

Feedback is appreciated!!!!!!!!   vadsab

Here's a quick figure I threw together as a gift.  This is "sith apprentice Padme", or what would happen if Padme were to follow Anakin to the dark side and become his apprentice.

Recipe:
head- Padmé Naberrie, Episode I Collection
arms- Barriss Offee, AOTC
hands- clone trooper, TVC?
torso and legs- Mara Jade, Power of The Force 2
shoulder armor and loincloth- Asajj Ventress (sith apprentice)
belt buckle- Darth Vader
mask/helmet- ASP-7 Labor Droid
lightsabers- misc. fodder

I certainly haven't posted in a while!  Any way, here's the young Nautolan custom I made for my sister.  She loved the Nautolan padawan "Zatt" from Star Wars The Clone Wars show, and was disapointed when Hasbro didn't make a figure of him.  (no surprise there)  I created this figure using a heavily modified Clone Wars Kit Fisto head on a Boush Leia body.  I had to carve up the Fisto head quite a bit, and glue on and reshape (using boiling water) the head tails, but I'm satisfied with the result!  I also made a female Nautolan Fig to accompany him that I will be posting later.  I am super happy with this one, and I hope you all enjoy him to!

recipe:
Head- TCW Kit Fisto (heavily modified)
Body- TVC(?) Boush Leia
Lower arms- misc fodder (TCW Obi Wan?)
Hands- TVC Bariss Offee

Wow! Zatt turned out great - you did a really nice job converting the head. I think that Hasbro really missed out on making the Padawans (I would have liked a Gungi), they were fun characters with a fun story.

This is a female Nautolan that I made to accompany my Zatt Figure.  Her body is from a female G.I. Joe (sorry, I don't know which one) and her head is a modified ROTS Kit Fisto head.  I dremeled the head a bit to make it look a bit more feminine, and added a bit of color to her lips.  I've included a "family photo" just for fun.   :)

I haven't posted in a while due to the Halloween costuming frenzy that consumes my house every year.  I've worked on a few customs, but I never got around to posting them to the yards.  This is a custom inspired by "Numa" from the Innocents of Ryloth episode of Star Wars The Clone Wars.  I may modify her at some point, as she certainly isn't screen accurate, but for now, I'll leave her alone.

Recipe:
Head- Galactic Heroes Aayla Secura
Body- Yoda (Saga Collection)
Hands- ROTS Aayla Secura
Feet- TPM Anakin

I finally finished a custom that I've had in pieces for quite a while.  I wanted to give my Djas Puhr figure some articulation so that he would be more poseable.  I had a spare Bespin Luke lying around, so I decided to combine the two.  I dremeled out the head of Djas Puhr so that it would fit on Lukes neck, and then I painted the neck black.  I grafted Djas Puhr's hands on to Luke's hand pegs.  Lastly, I dremeled out Puhr's holster/belt thing to fit Luke's waist.  I think he looks pretty cool!

Recipe:
Body: Luke Skywalker (Bespin Fatigues - The Vintage Collection)
Head, belt, and hands: Djas Puhr (Star Wars SAGA Series )

I made a few figures a while back that I've been meaning to post, and they're currently up for sale on ebay.
Clawdite Sith: http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/302189442642? (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5575055288&toolid=10001&campid=5337371392&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F-%2F302189442642%3F)

First up is a Clawdite Sith Inquisitor that I assembled out of a Cato Parasitti figure (head) and a Pirates of the Caribbean Elizabeth Swann (body).  The chest and back panels are from miscellaneous fodder that I painted up to match the rest of the fodder.  I also painted the figure's mask, hands, and lightsaber hilt.

I've been busy for a long time with college applications, but I'm finally working on some customs again. The first is one I've been meaning to do for a while. I wanted to give my POF Admiral Thrawn a more articulated body. I don't really have any story to go along with his new outfit, but I think it looks pretty cool.

recipe:
head- Admiral Thrawn (Expanded Universe - The Power Of The Force, 1998)
body- Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight - The 30th Anniversary Collection, 2007)
hands- unknown imperial officer
cape- Asajj Ventress (Sith Apprentice - Tartakovsky Clone Wars, 2012)

Thrawn is a fun concept and I really like how he turned out. (I also like the Clawdite inquisitor - the Cato head works better than a Zam head would I think - catches a "wild eyes" quality).

So many great ideas on here! I agree with Shawn, the Thrawn figure is excellent! My favourites are the Twi'lek Jedi Hunter, the Nautolan family and Jedi Clone Joruus C'baoth! The detail on the Jedi Hunter is excellent and Gandalf's head fits the portrait of C'baoth well, indeed!
Very inspring and unique customs! Thanks for sharing!

Aa’ Shachen

I'm still working on the backstory for my orange Twi'lek bodyguard, but while I'm working it, I thought I might post this custom. This is my Imperial Twi'lek assassin. Twi'leks are my favorite species in the Star Wars universe, and I've been very disappointed that they haven't shown up in the new movies. I’m sad that there aren’t that many twi’lek figures, but I do enjoy the opportunity to make my own.

Backstory:

Aasha’chen, also known as Aash Achen, was an assassin employed by the empire during the time that Darth Vader was still living. She was the adopted daughter (and only child) of a wealthy family Coruscant family. Her parents were killed when their luxury cruiser collided with an out-of-control frigate. Aasha’chen was 17 at the time, and went to work as a dancer in one of Coruscant’s lower level cantinas. She left her job as a dancer with a Rodian assassin, named Max, who taught her most of her skills. After Max was imprisoned for tax evasion, Aasha’chen went to work for the empire. Though the Empire didn’t typically employ nonhumans, Aasha’chen was an exception due to her ability to pose as a slave girl. She was very successful as an assassin, and, having no true loyalty to the Empire, quickly found other employers after its collapse.

I’m really pleased with this figure, and I hope to make Max soon as well. I significantly dremeled the Lyn Me head to remove the chin strap and sculpt the chin. I also drilled out a socket so that the head would fit the Black Widow ball joint.

Recipe:
Head- Lyn Me (Jabba The Hutt's Dancers) POTF
Body- Marvel Universe Black Widow Series 2, 2010 HASBRO
Belt- Tie Fighter Pilot (TVC)
Cape- Darth Vader

Torso- Anakin Skywalker (TCW)
Arms- Loki (Marvel)
Belt- Padmé Amidala (Coruscant Attack)
Legs- Agen Kolar (ROTCC)

Backstory and process:

Chatz “Max” Kseeboe  was a Rodian assassin who had an aptitude for poisoning his targets. Max’s main clients were those involved in politics who wanted their political adversaries eliminated. He had a penchant for Sabacc, and frequented cantinas in Coruscant’s lower levels. It was in one of these seedy establishments that he first encountered Aa’ Shachen. He quickly took interest in the young Twi’lek and decided to mentor her. Max was a very successful assassin, and was never convicted of murder. He was, however, eventually imprisoned for tax evasion because he wasn’t very good at managing his finances.

I painted the armor on the Anakin torso so that the color better matched that of the loki arms. I also weathered the pants with bronze paint. Oddly, the Doda Bodonawieedo head was cast in brown despite being painted entirely green, so I had to mix the same color green to paint the base of the head after dremeling out the socket for the ball joint.

Human Mercenary / Soldier

Head- X-Men Origins Wolverine, Comic Series
Upper Torso- Clone Trooper Sergeant (AOTC, TVC)
Legs and Lower Torso- GI Joe, specific figure unknown
Arms- Clone Scuba Trooper (CW, TLC)

I might choose to add a helmet at some point, but I'm running out of fodder and I don't have an extra helmet to customize at the moment. If anyone knows which GI Joe the legs are from, please let me know!

A couple of years ago, my sister bought an Isabet Reau figure off of ebay. The figure came without the helmet or any other accessories. I finally got around to making her a custom helmet. I started with a helmet from Young Boba Fett (Kamino Escape). The helmet was too small for Reau's head, so I cut the back apart and added some green stuff to make it the right size. I then primed it with grey spray paint, and painted the details with acrylic enamel.

I'm not quite done with it yet; I hope to add another coat of the yellow and possibly clear coat it, but I like how it looks right now.

Here are some updated pics of the finished helmet on the actual figure. As you can see, by sister cut off Reau's kama when she first got the picture because she was only 12 or so at the time and wanted the figure to be able to sit down. I might replace the Kama with fabric someday so it will be more poseable.

This is a super simple headswap, but I really like the way it turned out. I may add some paint (change the hair color, weather the clothing) in the future, but it's on my display shelf like this right now. I guess she's a nightsister warrior of some type.

I dremeled the head (which was originally on a swivel neck) so that it would fit the ball joint on the nightsister body.

Body: Nightsister (Darth Maul Returns - The Clone Wars Collection, 2012)
Head: Aurra Sing (Bounty Hunter - Power Of The Jedi, 2001)

This is really one of my favorite figures that I’ve ever made. Unfortunately I don’t have any great pictures of it, but here it is.

I’ve decided to call him the Neimoidian “Sith Slayer”, and the skulls around his neck are meant to be trophies from the sith that he’s killed.

Recipe:
Head: Nute Gunray
Helmet/hat: TSC Boushh Leia
Torso + Arms: Kit Fisto (Jedi Master - Revenge Of The Sith Collection, 2005)
Legs: Indiana Jones
Hands: Darth Sidious (I can’t remember which one)
Skulls: fodder bin
Belt: part of the robe of a POTF Bib Fortuna and some velcro
Robe: Custom made out of an old T Shirt
Lightsaber:
-Blade: unknown blade (painted with translucent bronze acrylics)
-Hilt: sewing pin and random piece of fodder

I sanded down the head/neck quite a bit to get it to fit at the collar, and I drilled the neck so that it would fit on the neck peg.

Very cool. I like the use of parts. It feels/looks it's stepped straight off a piece of concept art.

Thanks, SID! I made it for my dad's birthday, and he's quite fond of the McQuarrie concept figures. I was hoping that this figure would fit in with those!

Hey all! seems like the last time I posted was in 2018... oops! I graduated college this past year and have been getting back into figure collecting again. Anyways, merry (late) Sithmas with my first custom in a long while.
There were quite a few unwanted TVC 3rd sister figures gathering dust on the shelves of my local target so I decided to snag one for a reduced price and create an inquisitor of my own. Twi’leks are my favorite Star Wars alien race so of course a Twi’lek inquisitor was my first choice.

Recipe:
Body: Reva (Third Sister) TVC
Head: Shakka (Watto's Box) E1C
Neck Peg: Ahsoka Tano TCW

I painted Reva’s neck with Model Master’s “International Orange” to match the head’s orange skin tone. It’s a bit too shiny since I only had a semi-gloss so if anyone has suggestions for mattifying shiny paint I’d appreciate suggestions. I sunk Ahsoka’s neck peg into the Reva neck and drilled the Shakka head to fit. The neck mobility is limited by the head tails, unfortunately, but that’s kind of unavoidable.

I completely repainted the face to make it look more “sith-like”. This was my first time repainting a face and I did it with some Model Master “Flat Black” and a carefully whittled toothpick point. Very Tedious!

I hope you enjoy! Glad to be back  ;D

Hey, sorry for my late reply! It's been a busy start into the new year! I think you did some true magic on her headsculpt! It's great to see you posting here, again! My biggest congrats go out to your graduation! I'm still at college, which keeps me busy.

I'm happy that you've found some time to get back to the hobby! I was just looking at TVC Reva. Hasbro's brand team did a phenomenal job on this figure, which leaves many possibilities for customs. Maybe some day I will get a copy myself and see if I can turn it into a character from the Bane era.
Thanks for sharing your custom! I'm looking forward to seeing more!
Best wishes from Germany!

My dad created a really cool B'omarr Monk custom that he wanted me to share with y'all. It's based on the original concept maquette made for Return of the Jedi. This version differs considerably from the final design, featuring fewer legs and an absence of the bulbous piece on top for a less spider-like appearance. He added additional details to the figure using random parts to better match the model and gave it a nice black wash.

here you can see photos of the original model:

Twi’lek figures are the focal point of my collection, as evidenced by my customs. This Twi’lek Jedi from the 3 pack is one of the only male Twi’lek figures that’s been made, and while I think the headsculp is quite cool the figure had next to no articulation, which isn’t good for posing and displaying at all. I decided to transplant the head onto a pre-existing Kit Fisto body I had in the fodder bin, and he turned out quite posable indeed!

This was my first experience with Apoxie Sculpt, and I absolutely love it. I sculpted the neck and ball joint and dremelled the head to fit:

To finish it up I painted the neck and hands and touched up the head with a mix of Model Master acrylics.

Here he is next to my dad's droid  ;D

That works! I do a lot of head transplanting, and its a effective way to super-articulate earlier figures.

Apoxie sculpt is said to be one of the finest on the planet. I'd love to work with it one day. All I now is that you did a fantastic job with it. And I agree with Starchaser: Mr Monk looks brilliant! That spider is a character I don't have in my collection, yet. If I ever build a complete diorama of Jabba's Palace I might get it. You dad really did a fine job on this custom. Thanks so much for sharing your fine pieces of art!

Great stuff the Bomarr monk is great. I have a mild case of arachniphobia and the potf2 one I have kind of creeps me out. Lol. I like the Twi'lek jedi. I think they are an interesting species.

Shocker... here's another Twi'lek  ;D
I didn't change much on the body for this one because I've always liked how it looks but for the head of this figure I combined POTF Oola headtails with a TVC Barriss Offee headsculpt. I sculpted the headpiece with Green Stuff and completely wiped and repainted the face and headtails with Model Master paints.

The new paint job makes the Barriss face sculpt look completely different:

For the body, (TCW Cato Parasitti) I removed the weird shoe-cover armor and repainted the hands to match the skin tone and have brown gloves instead of black to better match the rest of the suit.

I'm basically going through my fodder box repairing and completing figures that I worked on (and somewhat destroyed) years ago.

Your eye work is fantastic.  The Sith was great but to see you replicate your skill to make eyes look so real and so different.  I am really impressed.  The body on CW figure has never looked better.

Huge props!  Well done.
