What's the price on these, I wonder.

Post by: Tamer on July 25, 2009, 07:45:15 PM
I am wondering if this means they are gonna be slightly over a two figure price as they didn't give us one. Course, I guess you are thinking the same thing.

I am guessing the comic pack price of $12 for these.

We shall see. I have a feeling these are gonna increase, but I hope I am wrong.

Really, I don't remember what the tru exclusive figure was, last time.

Yup - TRU charged more for their exclusive fig - I think it was about $2 more than their normal fig price...

single fig prices here are generally $7.99 to $8.99. that being said a two pack would go for $14.99 to $15.99.
and comic packs are generally in the same range dependant upon the store.
I tend to buy more when sales come up. which does happen frequently, and of that i am thankful.
These babies are due out around my birthday, and i might even be lucky enough to find them.
no such luck lately. one of each lower price range ships on the shelves, but nothing i couldnt live without right now.

I am on the Hunt, DRS, and I am hungry............for star wars, that is. I will be hitting state line target, tomorrow. The wife said that her store had a blue arc trooper commander, today, but I already got one, this weekend.

Post by: dana.raye.smith on July 26, 2009, 09:19:56 PM
i havent gotten the new one, but it looks alot like the Order 66 version repack. i have about 6 of this one loose and as many of the comic pack version.
I must have about 30 plus ARC troopers including shadow, yellow , commanders and blue versions. and that doesnt count the unopened ones.
I even had 6 loose original Cartoon network version CloneWars ARC troopers in grey, blue and red that i let my son have and i kept the boxed ones.
I really didnt like the articulation on that line, but the accessories are still great.
I probably have about 50 different clone commanders loose in all varieties. that also includes the skinny CW line, mostly Rex figs of whichi have about 5 open and 5 boxed for future use and also 4 of the mail in variety.
I do tend to overdo it with what i like, and you can get great deals on ebay that make it easier than buying them upon release. Loose makes for a good bargain.
now if only i could update the storage area of our basement and display some of it better. that is the only place the wife will let me display stuff, besides in the sons room.... which becomes the revolving door play and display area. He is 4 years old and before we started playing with them, i collected only moc figs and maybe the occassional ship. very few figs got opened, normally special occassion figs given to me by friends as gifts.
now the opening is like a major addiction.

Dana my girl is three and she is trying to get me to open her Legacy BMF Falcon. I too am primarily a boxed and carded guy and am starting to open a bit more as she is playing with it more. Ofcourse I do have all the Sith around here who are trying to get  me to open everything!

I am usually the evil one... and there is only so much will power can do for you...
especially when the wife jokes and threatens to let them open more and more stuff...
she just doesn't understand.... but she is accepting and tries to accommodate us.

Or in the words of Locutus of  BORG, " Resistance is futile."
I have a bad feeling that before long a large majority of my stuff may be loose.
Title: Re: Clone Wars Two Packs

They take up less space loose...
Title: Re: Clone Wars Two Packs
Post by: Clonehead on July 27, 2009, 03:41:05 PM
That's right, Doc. Why, one could pack 30 to 40 loose clones into the at-te alone and still take up less space than an AT-TE box. Imagine the space that all of those figures cards would take.

Yes...yes, I did.  Trust me...that will be as *nothing*!!!  Once you start opening, you will be unable to resist the lure of "just one more"!!

(good vid, btw - shelves look great!)

Those vehicle boxes make good shipping comtainers also , tamer.
Some items actually go for more loose than moc on eBay. Weird but true.
The differance in shipping is part of it. I think more people search for loose sw items than moc stuff.
If you have anything graded, however, that is a different story altogether.
Title: Re: Clone Wars Two Packs
Post by: DocOutlands on July 29, 2009, 05:56:08 AM
I tell ya, it's crazy to watch the current waves of figs (Beru, Owen, Medical Luke, Medical Leia, etc) go for store prices + when they are LOOSE and don't have the BAD part!
Title: Re: Clone Wars Two Packs
Post by: dana.raye.smith on July 30, 2009, 08:33:02 PM
Yes that is crazy..... but if I could find these items near me and at normal prices, I wouldnt have to look on ebay and resort to overpaying for the item minus the packaged parts, and the sellers would have 1 less item to put up for auction and 1 less item for me to overpay to get.
you either get caught in the moment and pay for it, or wait and maybe not get it and then overpay later...
really frustrating  either way, but you have to go for what you can afford I guess.

*O&$!)&*!@#_$(*&!+()$%*+@)(%*+@(%*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These mothers are out now at Walmarts across the country, oh, EXCEPT IF YOU LIVE IN VIRGINIA!

I'm about to burst a blood vessel after reading all the online reports of people scoring these awesome pieces at their local Walmarts.

It's not fair! Why do all 5 Walmarts around here suck so badly? Heck, I've only seen 1 that even had the BAD figs, and those lasted all of about 5 minutes.

Hasbro should create a website to track all of their inventory shipments around the country, so you can log on and see what is on the way to your local retail outlets. Of course, that would likely expose their INSANELY ARBITRARY shipping strategy, so I'm not holding my breath.

I saw two complete sets at a WM that is 60 miles away from me - ONCE.  They were completely GONE two weeks later when I was able to go back on a hunt for them.  Neither of the two smaller WMs I can get to regularly have them.  Rebe is going to check her store again today if she gets a chance and I'll buzz the other one when I hit the feedstore today.

Awesome, good luck fellas! I hope you fare better than I did.

I hit 2 Wally's at lunch and neither had anything new. I'll likely hit the 3 others tonight just to make sure.

Nothing found last night at any of the local Walmarts around here...I'm so disgusted I don't even feel like looking anymore.

No one is getting ANYTHING around here...Target. Kmart, Walmart, TRU, you name it. They're all coasting on old stuff that has been gathering dust for weeks.

I swear Hasbro must have made about 5 million ARC-170's and Turbo Tanks...they are taking up waaay too much space on the shelves.

Looks like I spoke too soon...I found an off-the-grid Walmart within driving range today and scored BOTH CW Walmart exclusive 2 packs! This store had great stock, multiples of each. They even had those TLC Evo sets.

They are AWESOME! New toys at last! ;D

Saw these at a local WM this week - well-stocked, mebbe 6 of each.  Still not a fan of the Skinnies-style, but I liked the episode they were in (first one ever?).  I'm tempted to grab me up some Legacy Finheads and remake them "properly," donchaknow.  Mebbe if I buy more finheads, they'll make more finheads.   ;)
