Just got done with my first real custom. I have tried a couple other ideas on stuff more learning than actual completion.
This has been a long process for me as I almost find it hard to put paint to the figures.
I have been lurking for years in various custom forums, but now have taken the leap into doing it myself.
I am not sure if my work is worthy of the yards here but I love the site and all the great customs. Lots of information on the boards here to take in.
So here is my Bothan bounty hunter,
Let me know what you think.

Love that Bothan and welcome to the yards!

Wow, I am humbled by all the kind words and being put on the Front Page was icing on the cake....
Never thought that would happen.
Like I said I have been viewing all the great customs here on the yards and have used all of you as inspiration to try and make some myself.
I am trying to work up a name and back story for him but that might take a bit.
I asked my son and jokingly he said Bob... he was saying it jest as he is 15 but,
Bob the Bothan Bounty Hunter has a bit of a ring though LOL.
I am just finishing up on a few droids that will go with him.
Hope to have pics up soon. Also working on a couple of custom vehicles that will possibly all tie together to some degree...
Again I thank everyone for there kind words. They mean a lot to me and make me want to try more things

WOW, what a mad collection of parts, an excellent and original custom!
-
Totaly awsome brother thats one great figure way to go!!
-
Here is the first figure I started working on, The Bothan ended up getting done first once I started rolling on it, and stuff I did on the Bothan helped me fix a slight issue I had with the Droid here...
Not a major custom really but he does feature rotating head and arms. Plus it is just the treadwell neck and head on the Security droids body.
So like I said not a major custom but....
Let me know what you think...

i like great colors ;D
-
Was this a painted figure or a model you made?
-
It is a hasbro figure.
Started out as the tradwell droid that comes with Aunt Beru and the security Droid that comes with the Jawa.
Just popped it out of the its base and put it in the security droid base. then I made the arms and head toate independantly and then painted it....
I like how it tunred out....

Nice work, SBE! (simple but effective)
I guess that defeated the entire purpose of using the acronym, now didn't it? :P
Anyway, nice job on the droid!

Took a while for me to decide what color to paint his face and hands and when i mixed up the paint it ended up being very close to what it was, Oh well.

Thanks For all the nice comments....
Doc- Yes it is the knife from the shadowtracker figure, thought he needed something cool in some seedy cantina to get his point across...

Here are some more pics....
I am planning on making some sort of Jedi/Sith Robes or Jawa like cloak for him as well...
I am not good at coming up with cool back stories or names like most of you.....
I had him painted a gun metal color before but it seemed like to much of a bluish hue to it.
Thought about going black with it but that would be to easy...
I like how it turned out though.
When my son was younger he actually made this custom while he was playing and I thought it was very cool looking. I have wanted to make one myself for a number of years now, but just never found the right parts. Until I recently bought a stash of mostly beat up figures that I am now using for more custom fodder...
Hope you like it.
Like I said the idea was my sons but someone probably has done this already though I have not seen it yet..
