Han Solo (Echo Base Outfit)
"After run-ins with bounty hunters such as Skorr and Cypher Bos on Ord Mantell, Solo resolved to leave his friends in the Rebellion and finally settle things with the Hutt. Before he could finish repairs on the Millennium Falcon and leave the Rebels' Echo Base, however, he was caught up in the Imperial attack on Hoth." (wookieepedia)
The figure:
The figure is not completely new. It is a kit-bashed figure using parts from some older Han figures. The head and also the accessories are new. The detailing is again excellent. Hasbro put really a lot of work in the new Vintage collection.
The accessories:
The figure comes with the famous DL-44 blaster pistol (the favorite weapon of Han), a removable jacket (wich is very difficult to remove), a welding torch and a welding mask.
The articulation:
*ball-jointed neck
*ball-hinged shoulders
*ball-hinged elbows
*swivel wrists
*ball-jointed waist
*swivel hips
*ball-hinged knees
*ball-hinged ankles
The rating:
I know we saw a lot of different Han versions in the last years but this is something special. I like the accessories and the head is one of the best Han heads I've ever seen.
It's a nice addition to every Hoth or Han collection.
9/10

That is a sharp review, Christoph! I really appreciate the shot with all of the hans and the shot of Han working on the Falcon.
top notch, buddy.

I love this Han. I have the big Falcon and I have to admit half the reason I bought him was for the welding equipment.

I think the welding equipment represents half the reason I bought him too. The other half is because I'm a sucker for OT figures in general. With these two factors there was no way I wasn't going to buy him. His head really bothers me though. It's been suggested by other like minded individuals (or "crazies" like me depending on your point of view) that the fact his hair is not covering his ears might be the cause for most of the displeasure--Ford never tucked his hair behind his ears as Solo. Apparently some people are simply painting hair over the ears and are quite pleased with the results. I've yet to see a picture posted of this modification though.
