Ok, so I couldn't resist. I went out today, traded in a few games that were sitting idle, and bought this bad boy...and now I don't wanna go to work tomorrow! It picks up 5 years after the first, and straight off the bat, it rocks! I'm on the 2nd full level, and I'm in some frozen ice region with a rifle that picks up heat registrations such as heart beats! I only played for about 45 minutes or so, but it was awesome!
Anyone else pick this up yet?

I just bought Tekken 6 and will save my money for GT5, but from what I've read, this is the new definitive FPS. And of course, some political parties want to put a ban on this game, because of the extreme violence, particularly in one certain level. Geez.......

I think politicians and outside groups need to stay away from our freedom of choice, if a game is marked with teh appropriate age rating then it should be left alone,
I will be renting this one tonite on my way home from work, hopefully it is in wit all the buzz that is going on with it.

That is why I play games... to be able to do things I can not in real life... well, not without being in lots of trouble.
I dont play many or too often any more, but I used to kill so many things and blow uo so much stuff....
Leaves a nice feeling of accomplishment when done right....
Nothing like playing a level in a game with about 800 NPCs and knowing you killed each and every one of them.
If nothing else, be thorough.
And with the way all these politicians want to control our lives, it will probably be ILLEGAL for a person to sit around inside their own home in their underwear before long.

Clint, this is a First Person Shooter, the controls are very simple if you've ever played a CoD before, and easy if you've never played before. Fast paced, super badass! I highly recommend it if you haven't played!

i completed it in a day im level seargent fist class II on offline but i will be 2x that on online i can beat anyone an anything so..... have u got it on ps3

In my opinion the best game ever.
The level design and the action is unbelievable and the multiplayer is also superb
The only thing I don't like is that the singleplayer is done again too short

lol, that mod is fun as hell. There's explosiong all over the map the whole game. It's even better when you're in a game with the unlimited time mod with the unlimited ammo/rapid fire mod. My team got 9 AC-130s in one game and everyone got over 100 kills. The other team got spawn killed to hell.

Well, found a PS3 MW2 for a nice price (50% below retail) and caved. Blaster_e11 from Yakface's been bugging me a few times to get this game, and he's recently made some pretty cool MW2 customs. Hope it gets here soon, so I can get crackin'! 8)

I hate the game too. So does everyone in the world that plays it. Infinity Ward really doesn't know how to maintain an online game. They need to fix the mods and glitches in the game, and they really need to fix the spawns. I'm tired of spawning right next to all of the enemies when my team is on the other side of the map. There is just so much wrong with this game. I shouldn't have to question how I died, every single time I die. I only play it because it takes twenty minutes to find a game on Halo 3 now. I can't wait until Halo: Reach comes out and I'll have another good multiplayer game to play.

Halo:Reach does look to be pretty cool. As far as CoDMW2 and it's online gameplay, according to most enthusiasts and Infinity Ward themselves, the game is developed primarily for online game play. The campaign is just an afterthought. I hate playing online because I'm a casual gamer, not a hardcore gamer who plays for 20 hours a day. Many of these, as I've learned, purposely find out where the Spawn point for the other team is and camps out there and waits to kill as soon as you spawn. That ups their rank and score and death counts, and that's all they care about. It's a competition to see who can have the highest score, that's all. I say take that element out of it and make it more of a mission based level, where you have to work WITH others AGAINST others in order to move on. But I guess that's not the appeal.
Me personally, I'm in it for the campaign value, and have absolutely ZERO interest in the online portion of the games. I like to progress, not to be shot down immediately by some douchbag siting in their momma's basement playing games all day and night instead of getting a damn job! LOL!

Exactly Phatty, I feel the same way. I play the online because I don't have much else to do right now, and because everyone on my xbox live friends list plays it. I enjoyed the campaign, it was just too short and lacked a good story. I think multiplayer is more of a competition to see who can sit on their ass the longest and who can stay hidden in the dark corners of their parents basement, as you said, the longest.
Mass Effect 2 comes out soon though, so I'll be playing that. I still need to go back and finish my third playthrough on the first game.

You thought there was no story??? I thought it was incredible! Some of those missions were mind-boggling! In any case, I do like these games, but like them better when you can play 2-player campaign.

Yep, i play on the 360. My gamertag is dimgeo, i'll add you. I thought campaign for MF2 was incredible! One of the best storylines in the shooter category. The real disappointment for me was Halo:ODST. If only i had saved that $80 bucks i wasted on that game. :(
But if you verse me, prepare to be stabbed to death. I am the ultimate pistol knifer.

lol alright. We'll have to have a knife match. You'll have an advantage over me though. I prestiged a couple of days ago and am now at level 43, so I don't have my Tactical Knife yet.

Tried my hand at an online deathmatch this weekend. I got my ass kicked big time: 1 kill, 7 deaths. I really suck at online FPS, but because of that I cherish each kill even more ;D

I just wanted to have another go at MW2 online, but I can't get connected to PSN. I get an 8001050F error, which has to do something with maintance to the PSN, or so several forums say. So, now I'm back to ironing the laundry, while watching the triple CSI Vegas/NYC/Miami episode.

Just finished a game of MW2, Ground War on Highrise! Where my team completely dominated the other team.
Got a nice score with my Beretta 50 cal.

I never pay full retail price for games. I always wait for some sort of deal. It got MW2 for approx $40, because I wanted it, and games hardly drop below that, or take years to do so. The story was much too short. I completed it on veteran difficulty in under a week. The multiplayer is good, but not great. After you get a feel for it, you can go wihout dying every second (well, at least most of the time). I still need to complete 2 of the special ops missions.
I liked ODST, but not much. It also felt too short. Legendary was a walk in the park compared to the previous Halo games. I couldn't even complete Halo 2's legendary. I shouldn't complain though, as through using an Amazon gift card I earned, and the fact that amazon had it $11 below regular price, I got it shipped to my house for free and paid less than $25 for it.

I'm getting rid of MW2 tomorrow. I'm sure you guys know about that 50% trade in value deal going on at Gamestop, and I'm going to go trade in MW2, BioShock 2, and Dead Space. I'm hoping to get some decent store credit from those, and I'll look around the store for any games that I want. If I don't find anything, that money will be going toward Reach and Fallout: New Vegas :)

Several of the guys I work with have been playing this game against each other religiously, and one of the guys in my station brings in his PS3 and a high def LCD projector so 4 of us play for hours! Now I'm a bit hooked. Still don't like playing huge online games against unknowns, but I'll be happy to shoot it up with anyone out there who wants to play!

The Riot Shield is one of the many, many things that make the online play suck so much. They allow people to survive your grenades and bullets. To kill them, you have to get around them, which is impossible since they'll turn with you, or have a teammate get behind them. Since this isn't a team game, this is also impossible to do. They just run at you and corner you and beat the hell out of you with it. If you want to piss people off, use the Riot Shield. If you want to piss people off to the extent where they ragequit, break the disc, and throw their Xbox out the window, gather an entire team and have everyone ONLY use a riot sheild.

Try to flash bang them or side step real quick and knife them. I always try to bounce a gernade off the wall at an angle to try to get behind them. It only work a few times but thats only because I knew they were in there

It's not that powerful. I've used it and gotten killed plenty of times. I've also killed people with riot shields. Heck, I once even killed one from the front with my knife. Don't ask me how. With the shield on, they cannot shoot, so I cook grenades and throw them in front (so their back will face it if they proceed forward) or over them. You can use your m203 (grenade launcher) to hit a wall or the ground to the side of them. Most explosives will not work with a direct hit most of the time, but I believe a semtex might (if stuck onto them, and an rpg should as well. I believe I've done both). You don't need to get completely around them so much as just off to the side to get them in the leg or arm.

It's not the worst problem in the game, but it's still a problem. I still stand by what I said, because it isn't a team game. If I try to noobtube somebody with a riot shield, an enemy will spawn behind me and knife me. Happens every time. And you can't get assistance from your teammates because most of the time they're busy being dumbasses and camping. Bad Company 2 all the way. Fun modern military action, without all the crap. And by crap, I mean glitches, mods, killstreaks, overpowered weapons, thermal scope, assault rifle snipers, shotgun snipers, no teamwork, no vehicles, camping, perks, terrible maps, HORRIFIC spawning.......the list goes on.
And please, don't let my posts affect your decision to buy the game. I hate this game with a passion, and will say negative things about it all the time. Mostly because there aren't any positive things to say about it. I guess the only positive thing about the entire game, is the stunning visuals in the singleplayer.

So, he was on the other side of the room and was knifing at you? I bet you went 0-26 that game. Let me guess, you kept spawning right in front of him, and he knifed you from 20 feet away every time using Tactical Knife, Marathon Pro, Lightweight Pro, and Commando Pro. That's pretty much how 90% of the games on Modern Warfare 2 are. Also, forget what I said about not listening to what I say about this game. Everything I've said about this game is true, and Infinity ward and Activision don't need more money. I'm hoping that more and more people will stop playing this horrible game. Hopefulyy that would encourage those idiot companies to stop making crap games and stealing money from people.

WOW, JTK, tell us how you REALLY feel! LOL! Actually, I played a match or two with you last weekend! I happened to join in a match with you in Afghan.
I can't TELL you how bad I suck at this game. I just can't aim quick enough. I don't know how some of these guys do it. I probably spend as much time watching killcams as I do trying to get into a decent position! Still, I enjoy when I can hook up with a couple of friends and play as a team. Otherwise, a Team Deathmatch is REALLY just a Free-For-All: There is no strategy.
I DID catch some punk bastards cheating the other day. I was in the Terminal, running by the sunglass shop on the way to the plane, when I got shot. I turned back, and only saw one of my own teammates in there. Suddenly I was dead from being shot again. I watched the killcam replay of it, and someone on the opposite team was hiding behind one of my teammates and shot me from behind him. And the guy he was hiding behind on my team was active, because I followed him around a bit too.
There IS rampant cheating and other crap in these games for sure. It's a lot more balanced and fun during a weekday than a weekend night.

Ya, there's always people using glitches or mods. The real problem though is that Infinity Ward lacks the ability to make an adequete multiplayer experience that is balanced. The guns are overpowered, and the snipers have too much sway. Killstreaks are overpowered, perks are overpowered, maps encourage camping.

Primary: Any assault rifle with a grenade launcher attachment.
Secondary: none
Equipment: Claymore
Special grenade: Any
Perk 1: One Man Army (It'll replace your secondary)
Perk 2: Danger Close
Perk 3: Any
Death Streak: Any

Actually, the major complaint I DO have is that I wish when you tried to join a game, it would put you in a group with similarly ranked individuals, unless you are joining a game with friends. It sucks to play with people who have Prestiged 3 times already and have all of the unlocked items when you're a lowly level 20 with only some things unlocked. I don't see a problem with rewarding those who have been playing a long time and have earned their ranks and weapons, it just sucks to go after them with a pea shooter when they're wearing bulletproof camo! As for your suggestions, I'm a long ways off from a lot of those. I'm only level 22!

Oh, that sucks. Ya, it doesn't match up players very well. I also hate getting thrown into the middle of a game. I try to play a game, and when I join, it's almost over.
Anyway, that class I said to use, it's perfect. One Man Army is one of the many broken things in the game, and it refills your ammo. The park allows you to change your class whenever you want. So after you shoot two noobtubes and plant a claymore, use One Man Army to change your class, and choose the class that you're currently using, and repeat. It'll refill your ammo the entire match. Some people find spots on each map where they can shoot in the sky and rain grenades down on heavily populated areas of the map.

I just got an Xbox so I don't have live up yet but so far I really like multiplayer.
I play against my friends and my dad and so far I've reached 44 in about a week.
My main class is
Primary: M4 with ACOG Sight
Secondary: M93 Raffica
Equiptment: Throwing Knife
Special Grenade: Flashbang
Perk 1: Marathon Pro
Perk 2: Stopping Power Pro
Perk 3: Steady Aim Pro
Deathstreak: Martydrom
I've basically created a class for any situation or game and that one is my main class.
