Here are a few of my favorites...
-
A few more..
-
More yet
-
More coming...
-
The last round, for now...
-
My God, dude! Talk about some wicked sweet customs! Too difficult to pick a favorite, with this many awesome figures.
Seriously, these are hella cool! Everything is very well done, from the clones to the aliens to the Mandos.... But, those Jedi caught my eye and wouldn't let go!
Really looking forward to more of your work.
Barry
-
Thanks Barry! I haven't done any in a long while, but I have some great ideas on the front burner, as soon as I can acquire the necessary components!
-
And where the heck have you been hiding those, Pat? I only remember seeing 2-4 of them in the past. Cool looking stuff buddy and I am liking those jedi. More please........
-
DUDE!!! These guys ROCK!!! I'll give you the Jedi are technically well-done - *very* well-done! - but the boys in ARMOR! MANDOS! Hard-down AWESOME work, man!!
Ok, so I have one nitpick/personal preference - on the teal RC. Now we've seen standard Clone troopers with armor components painted solid, as you've done with the RC, but all the "decorated" canon RC's have been "streaked" across armor pieces instead. I think the Teal Commando would look better - to ME!! - with the same color as a slash instead of having the whole armor piece that color.
But that is a MINOR nitpick that doesn't in any way detract from the set.
-
I think what stands out to me the most in everything you just posted... is the wookie. Braided wookie beard! WOOT!
lol... my boba looks at your wookie and says "hmm... trophy scalp already braided... wheres my knife..."
-
Oh yes, they are superb, I like the jedi's, the green clone and thr Dark Jedi. Really great detailing and the clothes look great.
-
Thanks all! I have more, but need to sit down and post them all!
-
Dude, whatcha waiting for.....get to it!
-
More, for your viewing pleasure
-
More
-
By the way, I am aware that the background and flash washes out the figure some, I took these when I knew very little about photography (I still don't!)
-
Keepin 'em rollin!
-
SOme more
-
Let's see what else I have in my bag of tricks...
-
still comin...
-
Also, I am aware as well that some of these look pretty cheesy...my first customs were nothing more than repaints, sometimes with some sculpey added for a change of pace.
-
More Sith
-
Just a few more
-
last round
-
Phatty, it's really hard to choose which one I like best...They are all very unique.
I suppose Conehead makes it by a nose...Yes Conehead is my favourite, he looks like a dude who likes his rock music and the odd roll up, he'd look cool riding in my Custom Imperial Troop Carrier.
Really like the look of your customs in general as they are an interesting mix of parts. There seem to be a mixture of vintage and current.
-
Yes, in fact, there is a nice mix of vintage and modern! Some were made with parts cut from other parts that were intended to be garbage! the Wookie and both Aqualish are probably my favs of them.
-
Good stuff.. for some of your first customs they look pretty darn good mate, i have yet to make a true custom (ie: ripping figures apart, i haven't got the guts to do it yet)
so for you to go to *town* on your figures, i take my hat off to you
a stand out figure would be the blue guard
-
They are all very nicely done, indeed.
The blue guard is my favorite as well.
Lots of interesting Jedi and Sith.
-
Good lord Pat, you are a custom guru!
I like either the twilek Jedi or the guy with the chain the best.
Great stuff buddy.
-
Phatty, I'll be honest with you. Some of this is realy realy realy awesome (like the guy with the chain) and some of it looks worse than the 80's color schemes used by hasbro with their joes (last picture...)... But all in all they are an awesome collection of custom figures. I don't know that I even have done this many yet... well maybe but I don't remember them all and I KNOW that there are some that I've done that look 100 times worse than the worst of yours! lol.
anyway, don't take my comments to heart phatty, they still look realy realy good! the paint is crisp, the lines are good, I just wouldn't have chosen the same color schemes for some... like the mace windu repaint.. purple skin and bright blue pants? Reminds me of the stuff you see at "peopleofwalmart.com" !!! lol
;D you do know I'm just poking fun right? I realy love that you've got stuff to post. more people need to be doing exactly what you are. repaints and sculpting work is what it all starts with! then you'll be breaking expensive collectors figs to get one little piece to splice onto something else......
-
Devin, you've DEFINITELY got some good points there! For some odd reason, I like flash colors, and my first few "customs," being nothing but repaints, show a weird mix of colors. I don't take offense to your remarks, as they are valid! I also would get bored between paydays and use whatever parts I had left and mix and match and paint, thus that last photo! Fact is, I have a wild imagination, but my skills are definitely lacking in certain areas, but it's very relaxing to do, so that's why I do it! LOL!
-
man I think I have an old figure laying around somewhere that i've painted two or three times just because I was bored and had nothing else to work on. It has some strange paint combos on it too. It is very relaxing.
I feel like if I don't let out my creativity out it gets bottled up and I get frustrated, lol.
-
Here is a shot of my latest work. I'm putting together a rather large project, complete with custom vehicle and base/diorama. There are 5 more active members of this squad who were absent for the Team Photo shoot, and most are still missing their heads as of yet! Presenting, the 8th ISY Security Special Forces...

lookin good phatty and thank you so much for my parcel mate
-
No thanks need be said buddy, glad it could be done! Now crank out more customs!
-
Yeah, some of them are a little bright. A few of them put Hasbro's Marvel colored figures like the Rebel trooper to shame. ;D But all of the paint work looks really good no matter how strange the colors are, plus you've got a couple REALLY neat part combinations that make me wish I had all the base parts to rip them off. Aaaand some of them look really bad ass, like this gray wrapped awesomeness (http://www.imperialshipyards.net/SMF/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1166.0;attach=8149;image). Yeah, he's perfectly colored and very VERY Sith-y.
First customs, maybe, but they're also really unique and I give kudos for that.
P.S. some of the bright skinned individuals like the magenta tinted Mace Windu and the lavender faced Leia are PERFECT for Zeltrons (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Zeltron) just as they are. That species of near-humans actually values diverse, random, colors among its people AND obnoxiously bright clothing!
-
Funny enough, NFC, that custom you like so much is seriously a slew of extra parts I couldn't match up elsewhere, with masking tape used to create the wrappings, some black cross stitch thread for "hair," and paint!

really??
hmm, never would have guess.
kick ass
-
LOL! Yeah, that's why he's wrapped head to toe in it! I think there are some boots that were cut off someone else, parts of Bossk's legs, a sand person's arms, and I think Sandperson head, too. Can't remember who's torso it was!
-
I think I know where these new clones are going..... ;) great looking start.
-
Do any of the customs have names or bios?
I'm looking forward to seeing where blue Needa and the blue troopers project is going, especially since they're just a slice of that custom pie.
-
No names or bios just yet. I need to finish each of them to give them an identity! I'm excited to get my array of heads in from Clint, since they're a surprise, and then I'll have a better idea on that.
I started my custom ship in response to Spudafett's Military Ground Vehicle contest. From there, I decided it needed a fleet of troopers as well. Then I saw Jules amazing work on that Vintage Imperial Hoth Base, and found it and Yoda's House on Ebay for $0.99, so I snatched them up and my desire to create a large display was born!
-
I love where you goin with the troopers and that officer. Nice color choice.
-
oooooo...a squad, a dio and a vehicle, my favourite recipe! I'm looing forward to this one!

I'm working on em, boss. I will get up some pics today.

oh man I can't wait to see the dios you come up with... 99 cents eh!? but how much was shipping...:(
-
I got them both delivered via UPS for a grand total of $11.21 shipped. How can you go wrong???
-
Phatty, do you have any of those pictures in higher resolutions or close ups?

geez
you got raped on the shipping vadsab that's ridiculous
-
Whoa, just looked through your pages, Phatty. Impressive array of customs! I like the clean paint apps you've applied. It's quite refreshing from the weathered paint apps that seem to be more common. The variety is also mind boggling. Great stuff, mate!
-
Thanks Incom! I DO like my troops to be nice and clean! Well, that, and I can't do a good weathering job to save my life!
-
I don't think I've seen much of your customs before. I have to say they are really amazing. I especially like that green Clone Commando!
-
excellent customs mate
I love the gold Republic Commando, it looks awesome
-
Dude phatty these are awesome! I love all those Jedi and sith they are so uniquely done!
-
Cool customs especially the jedi and clones.
-
Thanks Guys!
-
My favorite so far is the blue guard but when the isf is done they will take the cake.
-
Ok, here are a couple updates to my custom figures. 1st off will be one of my 2 Imperial Shipyards Security Forces Scout. I haven't made any differentiating marks on him yet, a la Clone Wars styling, but it'll be coming. Also, I finished off painting his helmet, which is not reflected in these shots.

Next is the lone Imperial Shipyards Security Forces Commando. At this time in the Empire, a few of the original Commandos have passed their trainings down, and have kept some of the original Katarn Armor as a way of reminding some how the Empire came to be, and as intimidation. He's close to being done, have to finish his helmet some and add in some weathering and detail.

And next is the Gran Jedi I've been wanting to do for a long time. I got an extra Zuckuss from the new ESB wave and am working on a Gran Jedi Master General, with some pretty slick accessories. I've only laid the pieces out so far, but need to paint the pieces and put it all back together.

-
Pat, you are a wildman tonight! Dude, I am loving how that security scout is turning out. I really need to make one of those helmets for myself.
-
these look cool phat! cant wait to see that Gran!
-
Yeah, Clint, I'm having a hard time deciding which ones are my favorites! I think the Scout Trooper helmet with the Snowtrooper face mask really brings a sinister look to these guys.
-
Cool customs.Cant wait for the jedi
-
wow the security forces scout figures turned out great
and aslo the Jedi looks like an interesting project
-
Cool Customs, Phatty! ()rr ()rr ()rr ()rr ()rr
