once again wraithnine here with a new Clone Wars Review .
this time its the turn of the arch baddie himself ..sidious
(http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn93/nosaj37/30012010236.jpg)
once again this figure comes with the Nahdar Vebb redemption form
Also picked this up from StarActionFigures for the princely sum of £8.95
sidious comes with his lightsaber and clip on sith lightning

he has a solid cowl and a soft goods robe (unfortunatly the robe is thin) so it looks a bit strange with the solid cowl.

ARTICULATION:
well...errr lacklustre is a word that springs to mind he has ball jointed head (altho the range of movement is so small that you would think there wasn't any!),shoulders and elbows with swivel wrists and waist. the lower half of the body has no articulation WHATSOEVER! and thus he is a pig to stand.
PAINT APPS :
well the paint apps are fine ,the high points are the face and hands which are superb ,special mention must go to the facial and hand sculpts which are utterly brilliant! but unfortunatley that isnt enough to save this figure from mediocrity.
the lightening is a clip on affair and as such looks a bit silly on the figure.
the lightsaber is a single piece one and the hilt is well sculpted.
as a standing figure he is quite effective at projecting menace as an action figure it is an utter failure sorry Hasbro..........

i give this figure 5/10 its o.k. but thats about it.

well thats a disapointment i was expecting a very good articulation on him but love the detail

Great review Jay. Looks like this one had better stay in the package if you want it to stay golden. Reviews are now up on our font page, I thank you for them. Looks like CW will replace the reviews on the fp this week once I get around to archiving our old ones.
-
jay everyone loves your reviews the first thing people see on the frontpage is you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
u are brilliant jay

Too bad about this figure as far as complete lack of articulation. Is Hasbro continuing to slack on this line? Jay, your reviews sound spot on and I can't think of a better correspondent for the Clone Wars line than you.
-
W9, can you get a picture of Sidious without the crappy looking fabric robe on?
-
New clone wars figures' articulation = :(

Hasbr, do you hate your buyers? if not then why do you continue making horrible figures in the clone wars line that have hardly any articulation?

sheesh, that is in fact terrible, far worse than I feared. Thanks Jay!
I can safely, happily pass on the figure now.
-
I still think that he looks like mr. Magoo. You remember him, right?
-
lol ;D
-
This figure personifies everything I do not like about Clone Wars figures, thin, lacking articulation, and too stylized.

Yepper, thats my take on em too, but to each his own! Saves my money for things like a BAT-AT!

Without the robe, he looks absolutely ridiculous, lol. Very well written and reviewed, Jay!

I hear everyone talking about articulation. I wish some of the figures had less of it. Some figures joints look funny. I'm starting to think some of you guys still sit on the floor and play with your guys. Me? I just open them and stand them on the shelf. I'm just messing with you guys. To each their own but me personally I would like to have my figures look like little miniature statues and wish they didn't have all the joints.
I bought Cad Bane last week and he is awesome except the elbows have those hoses going in there and his arms won't stay bent. I am going to have to get this Sidious figure, but definitely will be keeping the cape on. It doesn't really make sense to not have it on since that is his diguise. But I really want this just for the redemption coupon for Nahdar Veeb or however you spell it. I tried following the link on a couple of different sites to print off a form but it always directs me to some funky link or something. Anybody else have this problem?

does the emporor, supreme chancelor of all... have an eating disorder? WTF....?
seriously, definately going to pass on this one. I MIGHT consider getting the figure just for the head sculpt and the hands to put on a legacy style body...
which brings up the next question I have, is the solid sculpt hood removable? if not... then it's a definate fail.
-
awesome fig.i know his articulation is bad,but i really want him vadsab
-
Does anyone have extra of this figure, Thi-Sen and Captain TX-20? I have never even seen these in stores. Please let me know at paul@jeditemplearchives.com. Thank you!
-
unfortunatley i customed my spare one of him(TX-20)
-
Hardly any articulation? Hasbro must hate their buyers or something. Good review Jay!
-
They need to cut down on the articulation and maybe that will keep the figures at $5 a piece. I don't need 500 points of articulation. None of us do....unless you are sitting down on the floor playing with them.
-
I was just pulling your leg man. But Hasbro did say they weren't going to make all figures super articulated so they can keep the cost down which is good news.
