Panda Mony Toys "Alter Nation" "M. U. T. T. S." Silver Narwhalrus Review:

Panda Mony Toys has produced a special promo item for their upcoming "Alter Nation" toyline that is only available to people that get five people to subscribe to their email newsletter. This promo item is an all silver version of the Narwhalrus from the "M. U. T. T. S. (Multigenic Utility Tactical Test Species)" line of unarticulated vinyl mini creatures.

The Narwhalrus is a gene-spliced creature that is half Narwhal and half Walrus and measures approximate 2" long. The sculpting is quite impressive with plenty of wrinkles and folds in the creature's blubbery hide. The vinyl is solid and firm with some give to prevent the pointy parts from being dangerous. The overall design of the creature is very well thought out with a nice blend of features from both DNA donor species as well as some very cool imaginary additions hinting at some other potential DNA mixed in.

The paint, while only a solid color with no additional deco, is very cleanly applied with some very slight blobbing on the undersides of the tail and front flippers most likely caused by gravity while the deco was drying. The regular release will be painted like a living creature while the promo comes off more like a metallic statue so I am very curious to see the final deco applications on the retail release.

The Narwhalrus is a great little sci-fi creature that will find a home in my menagerie. I look forward to the full release of this line in anticipation of the myriad hybrid creatures that Panda Mony Toys will be unleashing on the collecting world!
