Title: Hasbro "Dungeons & Dragons" Lines.
Post by: The Spectre on October 27, 2022, 03:40:44 PM
This is from Hasbro's toyline for the upcoming movie "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves" and I want one!

This is from their kids' line, not the collector focused one, but I think it looks amazing and it has a 19" wingspan!

They also had some interesting looking transforming D and D Dice. Pictures are on the front pages folks.

I hate this whole not being able to see the figure thing without the plastic view window. I wonder if the paint apps are good.

Hasbro "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves" Rakor, Black Dragon Review:

It is great to see "Dungeons & Dragons" getting some mainstream toy love as it has been almost 40 years since the legendary LJN toyline was on the pegs.

This dragon is fantastic for the $34.92 (Walmart) MSRP! It has the usual shortcomings of a line aimed at kids- soft sculpting details and limited articulation. The dragon is approximately 11" tall, by 18" long and with a 20" wingspan. The articulation is as follows: ball hinge wings, swivel hips (4- limited range of motion on the back legs) and head (limited mobility due to the horns on either side of the head) and a hinged jaw.

The paint work, however, is really good for a toy like this, the eyes, spikes, tongue and teeth are extremely clean and well defined with no overspray or slop. There are also some REALLY nice metallic green spray applications on the inside of the wing membranes and the membrane along the dragon's neck. There are also metallic accents on the curved horns and the dragon's underside.

As you can see from the photos below, Rakor scales REALLY well with a 4" action figure (it is intended for a 6" line). I definitely want more of them eventually (not sure if I want to pay $35 each or wait for their inevitable clearance) to paint in different colors (red, green, gold/copper, etc.) For a full assortment of different species.

For a few dollars more, Mcfarlane Toys gives you a similarly sized dragon with sharper sculpted details, but it is a static statue. This is a toy meant to be played with and is a wonderful purchase!

I have included an image of the UPC to help people find them online.

Great review Dan. Off to share this.

Man, love the paint job on the wings. This does look pretty nice for the price point.

Found the dragon at Walmart finally.  I'm pleased, though actually surprised, about the owlbear reveal. I was hoping they'd do one.

Hasbro will be releasing 6" scale game-based "Dungeons & Dragons" monsters!

First up are a Beholder, an non-movie Owlbear and a Displacer Beast (which appeared in the movie practically identically to its game design)!

All 3 are insta-purchases for me! Especially that Beholder!

Thanks Dan. On the front page. Those are some cool beasties. So wish they would make all these in 3.75" scale too, but heh new beasties are new beasties.
