alright guys I guess I'll spill the beans...

it's called "glaze coat" table top epoxy.  You can get it at lowes in the painting and flooring isle.

here is a photo of the stuff:

here is a link to info about it:

http://www.glazecoat.com/GlazeCoat.htm

it retails at lowes for about $20.00

I can't wait to see some of this stuff in your all's molds!

Eventually this project is going to culminate into making a half cloaked shaddow trooper from TFU...
I'm going to try and use the hot glue technique to make the little blue sparks around the figure too...

Ok, I'm the better idea gy.

Spuda has an idea to make clear figures, he also likes LED's

we need to find micro led and make bats with glowing visors, :)

how long does the clear stuff take to set up?

I'm trying it now, might be fun to know how long it takes.

it takes 12 hours to fully cure.  I pulled mine early while they were still slightly squishy... this helped to get the right fit around the peg on the bat after I drilled the hole for it.

It is supposed to take 12 hours though.

This helps alot with getting the resin to seep down into the little bits and it sets up long enough to get most of the air bubbles out.

holy crap, 12 hours?

I don't even know where 'll be in 12 hours, :)

cool.

I'm also casting my set of bat parts, just to see how they look.

my B.a.t. cave can now have a repair/manufacturing center, :)

you definately need to do a dio story about a haplessly broken bat stumbling into the BAT foundry and asking for an upgrade... then he gets melted down into new parts...   >:D

lol.

well today is going to be an afternoon of scrumaging through old customs and parts boxes for more stuff to mold.  I've got hats, helmets, and weopons galore to work on....

well guys, I got the two removable jango gauntlets molded.  I got a jango fett helmet as well as a stormtrooper helmet cast up perfectly!  I also tried the jango removable shin armor, but it didn't work too well.

I got a pretty decent bat head, but with the way I did the mold it's going to take alot of cleaning up!

I also got a pretty decent looking x-wing pilot helmet done, but it has alot of work to do to it to make it useable.  Next I'm going to try casting it in clear resin to see how it turns out!!!

I looked at the shin guards. I think that some thin blister pack material additions need to be made for them to cast easier.

I'm sure they will have to have something added to them to help them cast, the shin gaurds that is...

A thought I just had....  Clint have you ever tried casting micro-machines?  Or the micro-figures for action fleet?  I think I'm going to try doing some of those when I get my new bottle of allumilite....

I hadn't considered that, Devin. Those action fleet figs would sell like hotcakes i'll bet. those always seem hard to find.
