The Ultimate Action Figure Challenge...
Details:
3 3/4 inch figures
Small mini diorama to go with the figure: This doesn't have to be much more than a small floor piece or you can add a background wall.
The figure can have many accessories, be loaded with articulation, what ever you consider to be the ultimate version of the character you choose.
You can also create a deluxe accessory rather than the small diorama. Something like a small vehicle, drone, beast/companion for your figure if it applies to your character or appeals to you. Nothing big that could take away from your figure it should simply highlight the figure.
This Contest will run from now until November 30th to give you two full months of build time. This goes slightly past our birthday, but we want to give you the time you need to make something ULTIMATE!
Remember only one custom figure is needed as long as it has either a small dio or deluxe accessory. Feel free to make more than one custom figure if you would like though.
Also, this is open to any action figure line, not just Star Wars.
Please post your final entry here:

Awesome, I've got my idea already and can't wait to start building. And just on a side note Shawn is it just one figure?
Ron

Thanks Shawn.

Tamer, is this Star Wars only?
-
Tamer, is this Star Wars only?
No, feel free to make this from any line!
-
I new this was going to win and already started building I AM SO EXCITED. all i will tell you is he is a character in DC universe. Now back to working.
-
I felt confident this was going to win so I got a head start to. So this is a big contest so im guessing the winner wont be a random drawing, but a best man wins comp? Cuz that will be so much more motivating. :)

There will be two grand prizes (from some guest judges) and many random drawings so everyone I hope might have a chance to win something for this one!
-
Oh the possibilities! I may have to get into this one...being Halloween and all 0/
-
Glad most everyone likes the topic. It leaves the choices wide open for the customizer. So much so I am having trouble deciding between 4-5 characters.
-
Thats great to see all the interest. I took photos of most of the prizes last night and will try to post them today no later than tomorrow. More are still coming too!
-
Hey Spry I just wanted to let you know in advance that I won't be doing any GI-Joe customs for this one ;D ;D .
-
Updated with the prize list!
-
This is an awesome contest to celebrate ISY's b-day & the prizes are incredible!!!
-
Wow. That's quite the list of prizes. I only work on customs of my own created characters, but I may have to try an "ultimate" version of an existing character for this one...
-
This contest looks like its going to be a fun one! Unfortunately I think I will have to sit this one out. September-December are crazy busy in my house. I will look forward to seeing what everyone else does though!
-
Darn
I revealed that Wookiee too soon.
I can think of something else.

Sad to hear that. It is a long time from now till November maybe you will catch a customizing bug!
-
NICE!!! Looking forward to seeing what everyone brings to the table! :)
-
Oh wow! im so amped! Awesome prizes, and I could use a Xanadu to customize for my custom Cad Bane. Good luck to everyone! back to sculpting I go. =)
-
I'll try to make up something before the deadline. Good luck everyone, can't wait to see the entries.
-
I got in a box from Doc Outlands yesterday, looks like more prizes for the Yarders as soon as I crack it open. Too much to do tonight, but soon I promise. Thanks Doc!
-
Prizes from Doc are posted:

Been a long time since I've entered a contest... hadn't planned on submitting an entry to this, but I just finished a custom that I feel is PERFECT for this - working on a "companion" figure (possibly 2 - for 3 figs total) & mini-dio now...
-
It's been 18 months since I made a custom. Maybe it's time to pick up the tools again.
-
Folks, I forgot to add I am putting up one of my Prototype Fetts as another prize!
I think I am about prized out though. Still waiting to see what a few site sponsors send though!
-
Dorkside Toys adds the new 6 inch Yoda as a Prize!

Bill that looks great. Get ready for the front page. I have been wondering if folks have been building.

People are playing close to the chest. ;)
-
Evidently Jeff, thats ok I know when it gets closer the entries will roll in.
-
I got no chance of winning that exclusive jabba but that thing is cool. Along with concept Boba Fett and 6" Yoda. Well hell they're all cool.
-
I was hoping someone would start posting there WIP's! Nice one William! I had been thinking about what I would make and have 2 figure in the works. Have to decide on one and it just may be this Ultimate Kamakura that is almost complete now. He is designed to go with the other Ultimate Joes released this year.

Stunning work Spry, I really need to get mine started before time runs out.
Ron
-
Spry that looks awesome. I can't wait to see the other one! Gonna use that for the fp announcement today.
-
Great job Spry! Wish I had time to customize right now. :(
-
Hi All,
Finally started my entry yesterday the figure and equipment are done just need to paint them and start on the dio.
Ron
-
Nice Ron! I just can't wait to see folks enter. I will use this as a contest reminder.
-
That looks great Ron! You making a new Spirit Iron Knife or Original character?
-
I was hoping someone would start posting there WIP's!
Well as long we're all showing our WIPs ..... ;)
When I got my TBS Bastila Shan, I was so appalled by the paint job that I had tweak it a bit. I also really preferred the hair style on some DevianArt images over that of the game rendering. I hadn't originally intended this one to be my entry. By the time I had gotten this far, I figured I'd go with it. The body is in the works right now.

HALCION WERKZ has decided to enter a custom 6"scratchbuilt PROTO PROBE DROID, this is another companion piece to go with the ongoing HALCION HOTH PROJECTS.
-
Near done!
-
Nice Ron! I just can't wait to see folks enter. I will use this as a contest reminder.
Cheers Shawn.
That looks great Ron! You making a new Spirit Iron Knife or Original character?
Thanks Spry and sorry mate I forgot to say this is going to be a Turok Dinosaur Hunter character.
HALCION WERKZ has decided to enter a custom 6"scratchbuilt PROTO PROBE DROID, this is another companion piece to go with the ongoing HALCION HOTH PROJECTS.
Awesome work mate.
Ron
-
I knew it was native american style custom but Turok now that bring a smile to my face that was one of only 5 games i ever constently played on n64 any more "modern" weapons to go with it or keep it more like the comics?
-
Near done!
You know for someone who kinda came out of nowere you sure are owning these forums with your customs. There for I nominate you to be interviewed by Tamer and Lucasclones soon.
-

I've never played the Turok games or read the comics to be honest so what I have seen on the net the native more primative weapons is the way to go I think.

Great looking Probe droid! Really cool!
However, I was under the impression that all entries for this contest were to be 3 3/4".
Has that parameter changed in the rules for this contest? I am just wondering.
-
Ok I've completed my entry do we hold off on showing them Shawn or just go for it? and if I get a chance in the next few days I might attempt the other one I had in mind.
Ron
-
I am Boba Fett is correct. For this contest we are only allowing figures in the 3 3/4 scale per the rules that were stated on page 1. Ron, feel free to post a completed image but Tamer will start a new thread for official entries. Sjefke, That Bastilla Shan looks amazing! Nice job with the hair sculpt and repainting the face!
-
Ron, I will start the completed thread soon.
Sjefke that Shan looks amazing. What a great facial sculpt for her.
HALCION your Probe Droid looks absolutely fantastic, but this particular challenge is for three and three quarter inch figures only. Look for us to run a six inch or multi-inch contest in the future and that one will be perfect for it. Brings a tear to my eye your entry isn't 3 and 3/4 inch!
-
Well that is just a doozy !
-
Brandon, thanks so much for understanding!
-
Sorry buddy but your Probe droid is an awesome creation and looks really well done. A lot of work and what looks to be Revoltech joints went into this beauty. Now your Grevious entry is also a stunner! Love the articulation and poses you can capture! Very nice work!
-
Brandon awesome Grevious mate and the articulation is amazing.

I agree looking pretty rad there Spry.
Ron, I need to go over to the final entry thread and use your Turok for the reminder today.
Hey Shawn, missed this and as always thanks for the FP mate. Everyone is keeping their entries very close to their chest i can't wait to see them all.
Ron
-
I've been working on my Massassi almost exclusively lately considering there are only 15 days left to enter! So much to do and so little time, I just hope I finish. This is a look at his face, it's the first time I've ever sculpted a face, and was worried the eyes wouldn't turn out. Looking at the finished face, I love it. I've been using two versions of Massassi, and taking my favorite qualities of both. He's from the height of the Sith empire, not the savages of Yavin 4 used by Exar Kun.
-
Looking good there Mandalore25, I can't wait to see the final reveal on that one. Off to share it as a contest reminder today.
-
Great looking start there Mandalore25! That Frost Giant body is a great choice and your head sculpt is right on for phase 1. Good luck buddy, as you said lots of sculpting left to do. Can't wait to see this character come together.
-
This is looking great already, I can't wait to see the final project.
Ron
-
Can an ultimate character have multiple bodies but still fall under one custom for this? Say I wanted to make a character with different outfits, could I make a separate body for say "arctic so-and-so", or would that not work?
-
Joe, I don't have a problem with it. The second body could be your deluxe accessory.
-
Joe, I think that would be fine too. Go for it.
-
The Emperor's Wrath is born!
Lord Scourge after betraying Revan, Meetra, and t3-m4 during the coup attempt on the emperor.

Yes, Tamer.
I'll post it in the Final Challenge thread. I'm beat and I need to get to bed.
-
Sjefke, That Bastila Shan is incredible. All the points of articulation are amazing and the attention to detalil on the face and hair are simply fabulous. This is certainly the "ultimate" version of the character.
-
Thank you Starchaser
