I cant seem to find much about how toy companies made/make playsets can anyone help post any articles or videos about how playsets are made? Specially from the 80's I wanna say alot were vacuum formed but would like a more indepth look. Thanks in advance for any help.

krztfr did you ever get information on this? I'm interested as well, I've been dipping my toe into Diorama making again but I was thinking of stepping up to a full playset with play-features so I was wondering about the process as well.
I assume if they were Vac-formed it was done with a form of plastic like ABS or HIPS.

Star Wars Plastic Playsets on Facebook, he is on here too, has gotten the closest I have seen to making playsets.

Great idea. I am waiting on my purchase of my space station from twelfth parsec. Check out his station and it will blow your mind!

Sorry to necro post this old thread Tamer but I was talking w/Raylen and another SW buddy last night and we mentioned the station set from Twelth Parsec (Raylen knew about it as well) but my friend asked if it had been completed and was shipping and the quality of it if you received it?
