Title: Captain America movie 3 3/4" figures
Post by: Phatty on February 06, 2011, 10:08:37 AM
Check out this image of Wave 2 of the CA Movie figures.  Each of these comes 2 to a case, except for Crossbones (who'll be the hard one to find I'm sure).  I'd love to find someone to split a case of these with me, I think these look amazing!

I like the ww2 era cap best out of this lot. Pat, I thought that Captain America was to be a 2012 movie. With these figures being shown now does that mean that it is being pushed up to a 2011 release?

Captain America and Thor are due out this summer, and I believe the new Avengers movie is due out in 2012.  I tell ya what though, I'll be hard on the lookout for these as soon as they start hitting shelves!  I think the Thor figures are starting to show up already.

Captain America: The First Avenger is due out July 22nd, 2011

Thor is due out May 6th 2011

The Avengers due out May 4th 2012

I watched the better Hulk movie a few weeks ago after seeing Iron Man on TV again and keep seeing Downey showing up to get his team together. I can't wait to see Captain America and Thor. I saw movie previews during the superbowl for both. Is the figure on the upper right Captain Britain or just a version of Captain America I am not familair with? Cool figures nontheless. I like the black one in the middel because of the neat Eagle Shield.

Let me know if you need the crossbones guy as I can probably see these in my stores.

Yes, that is Captain Brittain with USAgent next to him. I'm pretty excited for these!

Checking out Marvelousnews.com, Hasbro states that the Captain America figures will be on the shelves on May 1st, with the Movie hitting theaters on July 22.  I was hoping for a much earlier release!

At one point Hasbro said both cap and Thor were coming March 1st, but kind of glad they weren't since I had such a hard time getting the Thor's (money more than anything)

Still the later caps peeve me off cause they are straight repaints, apparently Hasbto thinks that is the way to get our attention, repaint a character to death.  I am hopeing for a red skull, but bet he will be like whiplash again.

Iron Man can get away with the constant repaints, but thor and Cap don't really work with it.

No, but it IS Hasbro, and they WILL try to do it anyway, because they don't target you or I, remember?  It's all for the children, who are apparently too dumb for their own good!

Hasbro just uses children as excuses, especially when there has been no real market research with children and toys for many, many years by many accounts.  The research they do site is way outdated and was skewed when it was done.

Awesome haul!

i managed to get my hands on the movie cap, red skull and crossbones all of which are great figures.  I missed out on getting the WWII Cap but is what it is...  Maybe they'll restock the shelves someday.

I was concerned that they would be hard to find, but my stores have been keeping them pretty well stocked.

I'm seeing the same pattern as Thor, Iron Man, ect.  Breif one or two cases at first then bigger stock later, just hope these don't end up pegwarming.  I think it would spell trouble for the Avengers line to have the three stars pegwarming at the same time.

Very true on that.  Or worse, they'll stop carrying them before the good ones come out, like Waves 3 and 4 for Thor so I can get Sif and the Warriors Three.  Hell, I was just reminded last night while browsing Ebay about a XMO: Wolverine 2-Pack I was dying to get that I never saw, with the Unmasked Wolverine and Shirtless Astonishing Colossus.  I want that Colossus bad, but can't afford the $60+ to buy him from the Bay.

For the longest time I didn't even know there were a waves 3 and 4 in Thor line.  I happened to find out about them on the net but never ever seen them on shelves.  I wanted Sif and the Warriors three too.  But despite all this, the pegs that are dedicated to the movie line figures at my local Wal-Mart still sell pretty well.  Never saw that 2 pack you were talking about Phatty, but I'll keep any eye out.  I'd like to have that unmasked wolvie but don't really need/want the colossus.

Don't worry yet about wave's 3 and 4 of the thor line, they aren't out for a bit yet, wave 2 is just arriving with that line.

Waves 3 and 4 of cap look disapointing though, just repaints of cap mostly.   Hydra soldiers are kind of interesting but not something I am excited about.

On the XMO two pack, my big gripe with the colossus is the fact he has 5 points of articulation, I mean if you only diplay figs that works, but I like to pose them and hate statues (look at my gripes on GL figs).  Best Colossus I have seen is the MLS one from Toybiz, in fact best fig they did in that line.  Beyond that the MU one is a very, very, VERY close second.  I personally think that 2-pack is overrated, I had it at one point and dumped it (of course before these insane prices for it came up, ironicly I bought it on clearence for $4 and sold off both figs for a total of $10, rare to make a proffit on a clearence item.  Long story short I should have waited though).

No osik, there I was... on a recce deep in WalMartanian territory looking for fresh spore.  Our AO hasn't seen activity in three weeks, but it's the one time you slack up that something waltzes through your back door and puts your shebs on a platter.  So I was out there, doing my thing, re-clearing the same old Habsrovian traces we'd been watching.  Satisfied there was nothing new, I settled in to study the armored car in the Cap line.  Pretty neat, looks like an old WWII M8/M20 Greyhound armored car and I was tempted.  Sorely tempted.  Then I let my gaze drift a bit further to where the smaller 4x4 strikers were stored.

And there was something new.  Something glorious.

Sitting there in plain sight were two of the new, never-before-seen Liberty Jets.

It was too good to pass up, so I scooped one for use back on-station.  Now, this is no serious review, but I just wanna pass the word that these babies are HOT!  Air-intakes big enough to swallow a DUM.  Twin ducted fans - pivoting in unison - that could chew up an errant protocol tinny.  A LARGE cockpit that could arguably seat a Gamorrean.  A flip-down primary landing gear.  A ventral weapon station with twin firing barrels.  Yeah, it had a pilot, all fancied up in some di'kutla red, white, and blue outfit, but I slotted him in short order.

The surface detailing is nice and clean.  Without the gun-turret, this baby could pass for an unarmed civvie model.  Did I mention it looks muscly?  No?  This baby screams SPEED! just sitting still.

Cockpit detail is sparse - meaning no control yoke.  In fact, there's NO panel details at all.  I suppose a decal from a HISS tank would provide a fair enough mockup, if you want.  Of course, HB94 could just P/S in the most glorious controls ever imagined and call it good - and DG is without a doubt gonna light this baby up like downtown Triple-Zero during Fete Week.  Spook, DW, and Tamer are likely to see some Hothie goodness in this one, painted up in a pale gray with an AT-AT Driver at the controls - and they'd make it look GOOD.

But I gotta say ... may the Powers That Be have mercy on the di'kute who put a shabla SKINNY in that cockpit!!

LOL!  Very entertaining find there, Doc!

Apparently, I cannot read my mother tongue.  The vehicle is the Justice Jet, not Liberty Jet as previously reported.  Said vehicle was spotted at two more area WalMarts today - 2 per store.

And they STILL look awesome.  ;D

Picked up a Captain America in the white parka the other day (need his parka and arms for a custom Hoth Rebel...) and a Crossbones figure which I left untouched.
The plastic on Captain America seems very soft and cheap.
Is it me or are the Marvel figures made that way?

They're definitely a bit of a cheaper feel.  In fact, I just bought the Concept Series 2-Pack with Arctic Camo Cap and Concept Red Skull.  Definitely should have saved my money.  Neither figure can stand on their own, and neither fit the Marvel Universe figs base stands.  Absolutely terrible.

Got a "Captain America" Fortress Assault Mission DLX Cap at Walmart for $5. I just wanted the armor and launcher so the figure is going in my Swap SHop if anyone wants him.
