Here I will be looking for cool old photos or items from the days of Star Wars at retail. Photos, ads, commercials, posters, you name it I will be hunting for it.
First up is a pic I saw at plaid stallions.com, never heard of teh site before but found the old pic they had,
Very cool and nostalgic a shot at Macys from 1978, The things dreams are made of, seeing vintage SW again at retail
-
a few more
-
I don't think I'd EVER seen a display like the one Macy's had going on there! I don't know what I would have done!
-
It would be pretty cool to go back,
here is another one an oddity, but I remember these.
-
Another
-
Found an old Pinball flyer
-
who can forget these crappy comic book ads for SW, I still remember these
-
Seeing these pictures reminds me there were a lot of businesses back then that carried these toys yet many of these places, though still in business, don't carry toys much at all any more.
-
Time to ad a few more, You guys need to show some more love for these and I will keep hunting them down ;) The first pic isn't vintage but a nice store inventory none the less
-
Wow, what I wouldn't give for a stroll down a store aisle like that nowadays!
-
I like 'em. Keep them coming.
-
Yeah, I am digging these too. I would love to see some old shots of Sears' or JC Penney's displays. Ditto Woolworth's or Woolco.
-
I will see what I can dig up as far as old shots of store interiors, these things are not to common to run across but I like hunting them down.
Makes a person wonder if some of us should be taking pics of some of the current items for fuuture use ;)
-
Which one to choose, I was that kid back in the day, obviously not "That" kid
-
I used to have that big trak toy. Man that thing was cool. I would sit an action figure up in the 9-volt battery compartment and program it through an obstacle course that I would set up in the living room.

The original Console Gamer systems

Remember when the cheesy big brass belt buckles were cool, well most of you probably don't but here is an ad from 1977 that may jog some of us older guys memories.

Scarry thing is I may have one of those some place, I know I did, just don't remember if I kept it or traded it. The price was heafty back then. $9.98 plus shipping was a good sum considering the average cost of goods in 1977.

Oh man...flashback...I wanted the R2-D2 and C3 belt buckle soooooooo bad...and still do!
