I heard that rumor once before, but now it's confirmed!  I am just wondering who'll be playing Thor himself...

LOL. I guess special effects can take care of anything! I guess I really don't know of any muscle bound blonde guys who could play it though. Maybe Arnold in his day or Dolph Lungrun in his day perhaps.

Double LOL! All joking aside, her acting in the Star Wars movies was probably a by product of the horrible acting by Hayden. I think she showed her skill a decent bit in "V for Vendetta" and she did alright in that I thought! I wouldn't classify her as the best actress in the world, but I think she will do ok in these types of roles.

Agreed. Give her another chance...... :)

Umm, I think she's hot.

My favorite piece of her work was her rap on SNL, I try to ignore the SW roles, except when she was wearing the white adventuring gear with advanced nipple location feature.

Yeah, his look isn't what I pictured for Thor either Alex, but hey I do have one comic where Thor is in full armor with a grizzly beard fighting a daggone big ole sea serpent. That was one cool comic. I think for that story his armor was the only thing holding him together.

That was a wounded Thor wearing enchanted armor(because he was trashed by the Destroyer) fighting and winning against the Midgard Serpent, or as iI called him the earth worm. I remember all them old stories pretty good. Late 80s early 90s with Walt Simonson art and his wife Louise writing I think.
Good old days.
this guy makes me leery of the movie, but how bad can it get? no worse than the first CG Hulk movie.
I will see it any way, if not in theater then on dvd.

LOL. I guess I was just used to the Godilocks version of Thor and he, from whatever origin, didn't seem to fit my vision. I was hoping to see a bit of Thor news from SDCC, but it was mostly Iron Man I saw there. No, I haven't had anything against Aussie actors since Rachel Hunter. Ah, the good ole days.

So, I finally got around to seeing this movie today, and really enjoyed it.  I was concerned that the Asgard scenes would be a bit hokey with all the CGI and what not, but as it's intended to be a fantasy realm, it looked great!  I enjoyed the plot, the acting, the characters, and overall a nice addition to the Marvelverse.  It'll be great to see him alongside Iron Man, Captain America, Hawkeye, and the others.  Speaking of which, Jeremy Renner who will be playing Hawkeye had a decent cameo in the film, called Barton (his name is Clint Barton) and with his trusty bow.  Definitely worth catching if you haven't already!

I wondered if this was any good. Glad to hear it is. Needless to say I am very anxious for The Avengers.

It has been confirmed that Loki, Thor's brother, will be the central villain in The Avengers.
