Title: X Men Legends: Wolverine
Post by: Clonehead on April 28, 2009, 09:24:55 AM
Are you guys juiced about this movie?
I just found this  interview  (http://www.darkhorizons.com/interviews/1409/hugh-jackman-for-x-men-origins-wolverine-/) at darkhorizons.com with Hugh Jackman that sheds a little light behind the man "jackman" and what it takes to make the character," Wolverine".

I have seen this "leaked" movie already, and let me say, I can't WAIT to see it in the theaters!  I read on Marvelousnews.com that there is going to be 10 different endings, shown at different theaters, so it'll be a surprise as to which ending you get to see.  The only problem I'm having is which day I'll be going to see it!

I'm glad to hear that it was a good flick. I had heard about the different endings, also. I plan to take the wifey to see this one. We both like the x-men although I am her informant as far as mutants and abilities goes. She never was much of a comic reader.

Well it did and there was a little more  ;) as well but i won't give it away. I must say i was very pleased  with this latest offering from the Marvel stable. The back story of how Logan came to be Wolverine was very well fleshed out (lol)..lots of action from the very start of the civil wars to the modern time was short but packed in nicely. Nice to see a LOT of current aussie actors in the whole film as well...

The introduction of the group of mutants led by Col Stryker was fast packed action> The scene in Nigeria with Bolt, Deadpool and Zero just blew me away

I did find the middle of the movie slowed somewhat with the relationship of Logan and his girlfriend Karla Silverfox but it soon moved on and true to form , Wolverine came to fore with hack and slash everywheres. Look for a cameo of Daniel Negreanu (canuck Poker pro) in the scenes with Gambit.

My score 8.5 of 10

Nice review, Greg! I will have to check this one out, when I can. Was the transformers trailer played before the movie, at your theater?

I still need to go see this one, and they've already confirmed that the sequel is a go.  Look for Wolverine II coming to a theater near you, I'd be guessing 2011.  Just a guess on the date, though.

I also need to go see this before they take it out of the theaters. We missed too many theatrical exhibitions of good movies, last year. That is not to say that I wouldn't enjoy a movie at the house, just as much.

That is probably their plan since the tentative title is X-Men Origins: First Class, it's going to focus on younger versions of the characters at the School.

I bought the Blu-Ray DVD today, and let me tell ya...I'm a little disappointed.  I saw the "Un-Finished" version that was leaked on the internet, so I had high hopes for the effects and what not being cleaned up.  They didn't seem to be.  Some of the movements that were done on guidewires were evident and sloppy in the finished version, and some of the effects looked very cheesy.  Perhaps Blu-Ray was TOO well defined in this case.  I'm curious who bought the standard DVD, and their views on it.  While I still enjoyed the movie, it was the effects I was overly disappointed in.

I bought the blue ray, today and.................it was ok. I wasn't as dissapointed as I had feared. I would rather have seen a wolverine with Alpha flight movie.
