Title: Cubanpete's dive into Star Wars custom figures.
Post by: Cubanpete24 on August 19, 2009, 06:47:15 PM
I'm somewhat new to repainting Star Wars custom figures. my first repaint was a normal Clone Wars clone trooper, which in my opinion turned out bad.  well anyway, here is my custom collection so far, you can find them here.

I don't know how to post pics of my customs here, yet, but as soon as I find out I'll post all of my customs on these threads.

Welcome to the Yards Cubanpete!  I must say, your clones look so raw, like renegade clones of some kind.  Interesting color combinations!

Welcome to the Yards, Cubanpete! I like the colors you used on your speederbike and rider.

Thank you so much for the positive comments, I just finished a figure, it's a commander Gree conversion, allow me to explain.

I took the color and scheme of the "The clone Wars" commander gree, and painted it to a normal Saga legends Attack of the clones figure, because I thought Commander Gree in the clone Wars looked Mega badass, but I'm not a fan of the cartoony look though.

and also,in a way, The rider is somewhat of a renegade clone.

See, I had an idea, What if the Republic secretly toyed and funded a program for the Clone troopers, called the Elite Corps, Unlike other clone troopers, The Cloners gave these Troopers Individual thought, and each of them, was a test. only 10 were made. Number 7 chose not to follow Order 66, because He fought for a Republic, a Democracy, not an Empire.

anyway sorry for the fanfic. and thank you again for the positive comments

Nice to meet you.  I'm Dan.  At the top you said you were new to repainting, but the figures are amazing!  Great job.

I love fanfic. Oh, to post your images here from photobucket, you just have to get the img code right under the thumbnail, paste it into the message and it should load up. Please pm me if you have any problems posting photos, we love to see new customs!

alright, let me test this out

my first kick at repainting, I learned a lot from this figure, like if your gonna paint a custom figure use REAL paint MADE for this type of stuff. and not some generic paint. also, that cant't paint over the joints of the figure. nonetheless, I sometims like to call this a phase 1 Number 7.

my most "custom" figure, and my personal favorite, I went all out to make this figure look badass, I added battle damage, a little blood, a backpack, a repaint of a gun, and a cool color scheme,

I was always interested in Mace Windu's battalion, and since I missed the figure, I figured, why not make one, but with a twist in where the paint would be, my only gripe about this figure is that I used too dark of a purple, oh well, it still looks cool.

Number 7's speederbike, I thought it would look cool

Nice Pete!
Now that number 7 speeder bike clone is my favorite but I thought that your windu clone's paint apps turned out pretty clean. Keep up the good work buddy.

I'm finally done with my commander Gree

this figure was a bitch to paint, I had to a little math in where the paint would be, because the Saga legends figure's sculpt is waaay different than the clone wars sculpt. but other than that, this was a blast to paint.

I also updated my "Number 7" so he would look more badass, I added a bandoleer and a bayonet to his gun.

and just as a laugh, I painted one of my legos to look like Number 7.

I promise, I'll stop focusing on number 7, what with making a lego out of him and updating him by addaing a bloody bayonet.

Pete, you need to start up a thread in the customs section too for all these great customs!

those look great.  I actually just recieved that same speeder from e-bay allong with the zam-wessel one the other day.  Great toys, love the rubbery front ends that smash up!  Honestly they are one of the few vehicles that, other than simple repaints, I wouldn't want to customize!
