Title: 212th artillery support Tie Bomber WIP
Post by: bump on May 13, 2012, 06:22:50 AM
Hello I'm new to this great forum, I've watched from afar for a while now and have gained much inspiration from the stunning work I've seen on these pages.
I've been a fan of star wars since I was a five year old being taken to see A New Hope in 77 and over the years as a youngster was bought a lot of the original figures and vehicles, sadly these were all given away by my mother and all I have left from those days are my Yoda and Han Solo (ESB be spin outfit).
I've been collecting vintage action man (G I joe in the US) and didn't think I'd venture into collecting/customising Star Wars as room and money are always a consideration.
This changed last Christmas when shopping for presents for my nieces in a toy shop.
I looked at a Clone Wars Commander Cody figure, and on a whim bought it, after being much impressed with the figure the next day I bought a classic stormtrooper, this became a daily occurrence and since dec last year my collection has boomed.
I enjoy customising and weathering toys and I hope to show the fruits of my labour in these pages,
First off a test

The pilot for the 212th Tie Bomber came through the post today, he's your basic Oddball pilot with some added 212th colours applied
Just need to get some time to take some better shots

And something different, this is a 212th scout and reconnaissance fighter, requesitioned after Order 66 and modified for the Empires needs, most of the Jedi craft were used in this way (pure speculation of course if truth be told these were the only colours I had available at the time,)

Awesome work there. I have to say that the Tie-Bomber is my favorite. The colors you chose really popped with the yellow. Everything else is top notch as well and I can't wait to see what else you work on.

Firstly I apologise for the quality of the pics, mainly taken with my phone with a couple of snaps put through instagram (my account name is bump71 btw), I really need to get my camera out but keep putting it off until I make some decent backdrops, anyhoo......

Introducing the 41st Elite corps aerial artillery support.

When I initially started collecting the clonetroopers, I was chuffed with the figure Commander Gree, so I thought he could use his own transport (also one of he many to lose his bounce in the series.

The plan was to make ths ship really dirty, and I mean outer rim filthy, when first painted I wasn't that happy but after weathering it has really grown on me.

Please excuse my typing abilities ( the above was meant to say that Gree was one of many whom lost his "bonce" not bounce within the series)

Sorry that I haven't seen this one sooner; I don't always take enough time to venture out of the Custom Figs section (and this reminds me that I should be)!

This is really, really cool and a great alternate interpretation of he TIE bomber.  I've always been partial to the bomber and this is certainly an awesome color scheme and a fitting way to present it.  Definitely a great piece of work!
