And see him, like you've never seen him before--with his shirt on.

Great Ordo figure. What I really want to know is more about your Revan figure.
Hey Mungo!
Revan was made using the additional parts:
Everything BELOW THE WAIST a random Vader
CAPE/SKIRT same random Vader
HOOD was cut off a Emperor's cloak and sewn on to the Vader cape
SKIRT is from Shaak Ti

Thanks! i'll start on it tonight!

very impressive entry, love the figs!!
welcome to the yards! :)

I'll admit it, I have a bit of a crush on my female Shepard. I mean, we've been through a lot...I can't begin to tell you how many times we've saved the galaxy together. (The answer is three btw). She risked it all for me, and I dig a bit of recklessness in a chick. So what if she cheated on me a few times with some of her female shipmates? Water under the bridge. It was only a matter of time before I had to create my other favorite sci-fi hero(ine) to stand proudly on my shelf.
-
BADASS. This fem shepard is really sweet, what a great use of parts! Very impressed with this I dont think I have seen any one do Mass Effect customs in this scale before. Great stuff.
-
She looks really nice! :)
-
TOO COOL!
-
I was WONDERING when we'd see some ME figures! Great job on FemShep!
-
Very well done, from my favorite video game franchise possibly ever!
-
Oh man you've sent my omniTool into overdrive! Almost makes up for the horrible ME3 ending. Almost ;) It's all about the Fem Shep! Excellent work!
-
she looks gorgeous, well done!
-
I am a sucker for a good female bada$$. On the frontpage!
-
Really cool looking femshep, I need to finish ME3 with my own femshep. Great work dude.
JW
-
Yepper, sign me up as awed too. Just too cool!
-
Love it! She looks great!
-
I'm glad that you were able to accept and get past her indiscretions with her lady friends. I have Paypal if you have video... Anyway, very cool work with the figure. Did you sculpt the neck piece, or any of the other pieces?
-
Impressive. Most impressive.
-
Never played the game but that figure sure does compliment it. ;D
-
Next to The Walking Dead, BSG is my favorite TV series. Looking around my parts bin, I came across a duplicate concept Obi-wan head, and immediately thought of Saul Tigh. And then I thought, since Star Wars has the Expanded Universe, I thought it would be pretty cool to have sort of a BSG Expanded Universe, where the crew had more modern, armored variation of their uniform.

Holy Caprica! That Tigh is AMAZING! Please do MORE BSG figs! PLZPLZPLZ!
-
oh WOW - unbelievable rocking good stuff, extremly inspiring and of course I would love to see more of your BSG EU :)
-
Great custom, back on the front page.
Thank you for giving me my morning chuckle too. That Stormy pic is pricelss.

I've been a bit busy getting my clone on.
First up, Horrible Boss.
Each rendition of Boss Hasbro has made, has been horrible. You'd think a character with this much awesomeness, would have articulation to reflect such awesomeness. When I picked up the Clone Wars Boss--man, was I bummed--that this figure had such pathetic articulation. Not to mention how goofy he looked with a high neck and skinny legs. Ugh.
So, it was up to me to make things right.
I lowered his head on the neck post, added wrist articulation, and removed his chicken legs with something beefy-er. And viola! I'm pretty pleased how he looks now. Comments?

Let me start off by saying, I am a Star Wars "purest". The prequels are crap, and the Clone Wars are an embarrassment. I do collect some Clone Wars figures, because I think they do look cool--but don't fit in to the Star Wars universe.
The newest version of Rex...phase 3.4.5.8.1, or whatever phases these things are up to these days--has one of the coolest helmets I've seen in the line. And of course, Hasbro dropped the ball again (much like CW Boss), so it was up to me to fix it.
I'm pretty sure you guys can guess the parts used..

I was inspired by one of the users here. Apologies, I'm unsure who originally created this recipe , but I felt I needed one of my own. Its pretty much what I imagined the clones might have looked like, during the Clone Wars. The clones were cold, machine like humans...almost like a Cylon, they didn't have names, or different hair cuts, or personalities...or even Power Ranger color coordinated. They were living, breathing weapons.

That helmet recipe either came from Scott (Psyclones Customs) or Clint (Clonehead) as this was an AT-AT Driver head with a vizor attached. I must admit that I do have the original one Psyclone created and I need to see how many I have from Clint. I do agree, it is an awesome concept and is a nice missing link between clones and stormies and what not.
That being said you other creations are just spot on and you have improved both Boss and Rex. look for the update on the fp soon (no later than tomorrow am) as I love the fixes you have shown. I like the pictures showing disgust with the awful parts too. spot on.
-
WOW!
-
This latest set of clones is badass. I was so disappointed at the new TCW Boss I immediately put him up for trade. NOT COOL HASBRO!
The Rex looks neat and the "cloneCylon" is a really neat piece. Although...your comment about "Power Ranger color coordination" has got me thinkin' about a team of clones who yell "IT'S MORPHIN' TIME" and whip out some cellphone-ish device and their vehicles (BARC speeder, LAAT-i, whathaveyou) transform and combine into a giant robot that they then use to kick Seperatist butt! YEAH! Do that series next.

That's exactly what I remember thinking when my view of SW was developing as a young kid. Cold, calculating troopers fighting against armored Jedi (not the lame robed ones we got in the prequels). I was always a bit disappointed with what we got in the prequels based mostly on what my imagination had already conjured up when I was younger. Sometimes knowing more is actually amounts to less...
By the way, nice idea in switching out the EVO trooper legs on the CW Boss; I'm stealing that idea... ;)
-
I really, really wanted to love this movie. But when I saw that they made the movie more like Sky Captain and the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen -- with super hi-tech weapons, cars, and planes -- I was pretty disappointed. I'm glad they didn't have Captain America fighting Alien Nazis like they did with Ultimate Avengers...that would have really killed it for me.
One thing that I did absolutely love, was the Rescue Mission uniform. I would have loved to seen more of it, and Capt. American kicking Nazi **** in it. Oh well.
Bummed Hasbro hasn't made one, I decided to make my own. Not screen accurate (I used the fodder I already had), but I'm pretty happy how he turned out.
I also thought it would be fun to have Bucky more soldier like..I dunno, maybe this is what he could have looked like if they decided to give him a costume.
Comments and critiques always welcome!

Don't agree in the slightest with you about the movie but the custom is very cool nice one.
-
Good ol' Cap is my 2nd favorite super hero (behind Spiderman) and you did an excellent job bringing the right 'look' to him here. The paint apps were well chosen, right down to the brown/tan on his jacket. Perfect.
My only recommendation would be to apply a wash or two to darken the paints a little. However, that's just my preference (I like the gritty look for my custom figs) and there is absolutely nothing wrong with your work here.
Really an excellent job here! Very, very nice fig!
I also thought it would be fun to have Bucky more soldier like..I dunno, maybe this is what he could have looked like if they decided to give him a costume.
Yeah, they overlooked this character a bit in the outfit area, but we'll get a better look at him in the sequel!
-
Looks so AWESOME! :D
-
Very cool for sure! I love Marvel customs, there's so much potential out there that has gone untapped, it's like exploring space; you never know what's going to hit next! On the front page...
-
That is a great figure, but...I have to say I might disagree about the movie. I thought Captain America was awesome. But, we all have the right to our opinions.

I absolutely love the parts you employed in this custom! Beautiful, flawless choices; however,I agree with jedimerc. A bit of a wash could REALLY make this a stunning piece of art.
-
Awesome. Pat beat me to the front page too!

One of my absolute favorite multi-player games is Metal Gear Online. I was hooked on it, up until the servers shutdown, several months ago. I decided to make a figure in homage to my online player. This is the first time I attempted painting camo, as-well-as the first time I used Model Master Acrylic paints....which I'm hooked on using from now on.
I used to change up her gear pretty regularly, but always loved the tiger stripe and face camo, which is why the below refernce pic of my character is a bit different than the figure I made of her.
Let me know what you think!

Awesome!!! :o
-
I really like the Cap 'n' Bucky set and the Metal Gear chick looks badass.
-
Nice, on the front page.
-
Truly amazing! That visor wearing atat driver helmet was originally inspired by one of scott's customs.
-
what a great figure, and If thats the first time you're painting camo awesome work !!!
-
The metal gear chick looks awesome! can I ask what head you used for her? It's tough finding attractive female heads!
-
Thanks for all the feedback guys!
Darksider80, to answer your question, that head is from the Star Wars Vintage collection, Zam Wesell, which you can find at 5 Below...for $5.

awesome! the only problem is that the nearest 5 below store is 1500 miles away. I live in california. I'll check out tjmaxx, they have some of the older waves sometimes on the cheap.

That's right! GI Joe 3: the Rise of the Resolution to Retaliation...of Cobra's Pursuit is gonna be more kick *** ... stimulate less thinking, and hock up more adrenaline and hormones than a Michael Bay film! Explosions! Explosions! Camera turning! And more explosions! With an occasional panty flash and cleavage shot...with GUNS! BIG GUNS! Yeah!
In all seriousness, I had a few left over parts from a few Resolute and Pursuit of Cobra figures, that I really wanted to use up...since they had so much potential.
First up is Duke. I loved the head from the Resolute Arctic Duke, and picked up a cast of it from TofuJesse.com... BUT...I never painted a head before ...until now.
I think he came out pretty darn well! It's not up to par with Sithfire or Evergrey...but I'm proud of myself.
Let me know your thoughts and comments!

Duke turned out bery nicely; the sculpting work on the head wrap and comm system looks like it was sculpted on the original figure. this is a great look for Duke: similar to the style we see from Hasbro, but with enough differences that you know an artist had to have gotten his hands on him!
I really, really like the Metal Gear gal you put together! Wow! The camo on her outfit is perfect. This looks like a fig that came right out of the package; awesome!
-
This is my second attempt at face painting, I think she turned out very well.
I knew painting eyes would be a pain in the arse--I don't know how you guys do it. I think I messed them up about 4 times, until I got them straight.
Nothing kills a hot looking chick, more than cross eyes. O.o

most excellent work, she looks great!!
-
Most impressive. I like this one a good bit. Time to take her to the front page.
-
Very nice work on the last 2 figures! I know how you feel about painting the eyes, I hate it too! Loving the female,
-
I really dug this figure when I first saw it--then I saw how much she was going for on ebay. It would be waaaay cheaper to make her myself.
Here's what she normally looks like:

I'm a fan of Metal Gear...that's what inspired her black sneaking suit underneath, as-well-as the Rain Drop camo pattern.
Head: Diana cast from StarWarsGeek
Torso: Rise of Cobra She-male Cover Girl
Arms: Rise of Cobra Armored Scarlett
Legs: Rise of Cobra Snake Eyes with trench coat
Trying to find a Star Wars Tycho for the helmet liner.
Thanks for looking!
-
beautiful looking females man.. nice execution of paint and parts choice..
-
your version is great, love the camo!!
-
very cool man I so seee the That one Character from MGS in the customs her name was Lone Wolf right?
-
That is a great looking female figure! Love that head cast!
-
Pure awesomeness!
-
WOW! Just WOW!
-
Kick ass job on the Diana figure! Really dig this one great work.
-
I actually prefer your version. Nice work!
-
I actually prefer your version. Nice work!
Me too. I like the custom version better. On the front page.
-
she looks freakin' awesome man! I've always really wanted that one but couldn't bring myself to pay like 80 bucks on one figure. no way! Anyhow, I like how you describe the roc cover girl as "she-male". She does look pretty manly out of the package. However, there's this dude on hiss tank that made her look unbelievably sexy with no modifications done to the facial sculpt at all. He stripped the paint on the face down to the bare plastic and repainted her and did a bit of a mod on the hair do. You should check it out. The sculpts hasbro has done on the female character faces are usually spot on. It's the ten layers of paint they put over it (very sloppily, e.g. black widows' eyes!) that screws it up.
-
It's been a while since I've posted here! I'm guessing it's because of the last two years' "The Phantom Menace" Menace, which have has given customizers a lot less fodder and somewhat killed our collecting and customizing hobby.
In spite of the Hasbro drought, I've found myself being more creative with what's available to me.
I give to you, Darth Dial! You can clearly see he is a bad guy, he has a red lightsaber, and a black cloak, and "Darth" before his name, and either is asthmatic, deformed, or in his case, and amputee. Making him an even more bad *****.
Next up, is Jedi Poland Spring. You can tell he is a Jedi, because he has a non-red lightsaber and wears brown (or other earth tones), and does not have Darth before his name. I spent a lot of time on this one. I needed to make sure the water was purified multiple times to give him that superb crystal clear color. I used a dry brush to brush the cap, making it stand out more. Jedi Poland Spring and Darth Dial are enemies, because one is a Jedi, and the other is a Sith.
I hope you enjoy!!!!
In all seriousness, I got my hands on one of the Saga Legends Stormtroopers, and love, love, love the helmet sculpt. I wanted to use the helmet on one of the Stormtroopers I had laying around. I just cut the head off, dremmeled a hole, and popped that baby on:

-
Nice troopers there bud.
-
LOL. This is for the win! Off to share. Ah, but I do agree with your points.
Love you new Stormy using that saga legends head. Great creation and it really shows standing beside those other two which are nice in their own right, but nothing compared to what you have created as far as head sculpt goes.
-
Great job on Darth Dial and Jedi Master Poland Spring! Too funny! ;D
-
And now I'd like to open the Boom-Boom archives, and share with you some things I've been working on this past year, that I haven't had the time...or really the motivation to take pictures of.
Earlier this year I made a Sith Trooper Officer --my interpretation -- from the Knights of the Old Republic video game. I like to think of it as sort of a Phase 1 design for the Sith troopers.
He's made from one of the Imperial Knights, the dude with the red pony tail.
I cut the shoulder armor off, and had to move the arms up higher. Helmet is a clear cast made by RaginSpoon I believe, and it's from GI Joe Sci-fi. The leg armor is from a GI Joe Dusty figure. Holster from a Prince of Persia figure harness, and weapons...I have no bloody clue.
Enjoy!

That guy just look cool!
-
Love the way you are improvising during the Hasbro drought! That new helmet sculpt does look pretty good! Nice looking custom as well.
-
I haven't seen too many customs of the Sith Trooper, but I've gotta say, your interpretation is one of the best I've seen. Great work! Just can't have too many KotOR figures! :D
-
That guy just look cool!
Thinking the same thing on the front page.
-
Imitation is the highest form of flattery.
Over the past year, I've tried my best to copy some of the coolest customs from various forums.
First up, we have Spudafett's Iron Widow figure from imperialshipyards.net:

I really like the character design for the Sith Inquisitor, but I think the title and concept of the character is stupid. A SITH inquisitor wearing an Imperial uniform? Ugh. I like some of the other character designs for Rebels...but I'm afraid it's going to further bastardize the history before the original Trilogy, much like the prequels and Clone Wars cartoons have done.
I thought it would be fun to make a custom of the Sith Inquisitor..but refer to him as an Imperial Inquisitor. Perhaps someone that gets off on torturing captives? I gave him a lightsaber, not because he's a Force user--but to use it as a means of interrogation. Ever get burnt by a lightsaber? I don't think it would be fun if someone was.
Let me know what you think!

I like him! I sure cannot fault some of your reasoning either. I still get a little irritated when I see what they did to my Mandalorians at the hands of TCW. Oh well, it was nice to see the full range of motion in a REBELS Character too. Off to share.

He's from a photo novel I'm working on entitled Star Wars Episode I: An Unlikely Alliance:

Not that I have anything against Ewan McGregor, but I decided to make a new Prequel Obi-wan look like a younger Alec Guinness. I used sculpting putty, Botox, and Oil of Olay to turn back the hands of time on a spare Resurgence of the Jedi Obi-wan, then repainted, then dirtied him up a little.
The body is from the Avatar movie line Miles Quaritch.
Obi-wan Kenobi in his Dagobah training fatigues, when he was under the tutelage of his one and only mentor, Yoda.

It's been a WHILE since I had any time to work on anything. I had this as semi-done, so I made myself finish it (and a few others I've been working on for a while).
So here is... Bat-dude.
Feedback, critiques and comments always welcome!
Parts are:
Head: Horrible Dark Knight Rises figure
Torso: Rise of Cobra Impact Armor Ripcord
Hands: GI Joe Tripwire
Legs: GI Joe Tripwire
Cape: from 2 DKR figures sewn together.

I was able to finish up another custom that's been sitting in an unfinished box in my garage.
I'd like to present Natasha Romanova from The Winter Soldier. Nothing too fancy here. I got a hold of an X-23 hair cast from vortiouscustomaccessories.ecrater.com, painted silver on her legs, boots, and gauntlets. Glued the holster to her thighs, and I think the difference is night and day.
A random tangent:
I think I've been watching waaaaaay too much Japanese Sentai, namely Gokaiger and now ToQger, that I started to rethink character names. Black Widow sounds pretty cool as Widow Black. Captain America sounds cool as American Captain. Cobra Commander sounds pretty badass as The Commanding Cobra, you get the idea...Lantern Green, Solo Han... they just kinda sound more dramatic. That's the only reason why I put such in the title of this tread.
/End of tangent

Oh yeah, she looks spot on. And pretty good on the front page. Love the articulation and poses you are getting with your figures.
-
Another Lady Jaye...LOL...like others as soon as I saw Wasp, I knew she was perfect for LJ.
The hardest part of this custom for me, was her head on Joe bodies. Her head is just waaay too small, and I tried several female Joes.
The best body for her, imo, is well...hers....sorta.
I used an old MU Aurora (Alpha Flight) body from a Baroness custom I did, and just repainted, and swapped her left hand.
The problem I ran in to is, either my Model Master Acrylics are "bad" from not being used for 7 months, or it's the paint on the Aurora body and the acrylics I used not bonding too well.
But I think she turned out OK.
I dig how she looked in some illustrations of her wearing a white t-shirt. Plus her petite frame made me think this is how she looked when she first joined the team.

It's been a looooooooooooooooooooooooooong time since I posted anything. I actually did this about a year ago, but never had a chance to post it.
Episode 1 Anakin...how he should have looked as a younger Sabastian Shaw.
I'm no scuplter but I think he turned out really well. I used the head from the Power of the Force figure from the late 90's, re-sculpted his cheeks and removed his wrinkles, then repainted. Body is MU Ghost Rider. Helmet is a GI Joe Serpentor crown case, mask, hoses and backpack are from a Clone Wars scuba trooper
I think George and Co should have gone with a more 1950's inspired sci-fi look for the prequels... it only makes sense right, since there's bits and pieces of the 70's in A New Hope and 80's influence in Empire and Jedi.
Anakin will be appearing in an upcoming photonovel.

The execution on this figure is great. Don't sell yourself short as a sculptor, this face looked really good. Really clever concept. I think I might have enjoyed something a touch more Flash Gordon/Buck Rogers-esque, as well. Good to see you post again.

Hey guys! It's been a while.
I've becoming a HUGE fan of Marauder Task Force figures, and thought it would be cool to work on a custom of what Boba Fett's armor would have been like, during the Clone Wars, and before he modified it with jets. And bounty hunted for Jabba Hutt to finance his 'Vette. Wicky, Wicky. Its only appropriate to call his armor marauder, since this is a Marauder figure.
One thing to note. The Prequels are garbage and are all wrong. Boba is not a clone of Jango, doesn't inherit his "dad's" ship and he's not a young man when we see him in Empire.http://starwarscollector.com/photo/orange/boba_412/412pic/412cbl.jpg (http://starwarscollector.com/photo/orange/boba_412/412pic/412cbl.jpg)
He's a seasoned, hardened, trained super commando during the Clone Wars, and obviously much older. And I loved the idea of Boba looking similar to Jeremy Bulloch.
The entire figure is a Marauder Task Force soldier, I cut the range finder/antenna and mask from an old Jango, then used a silver marker to add some abrasions and added a few Mando water decals.

Awesome. Those marauder figures are indeed great to make customs of, especially mandos. Besides myself, your the only other person I've seen use them for mandos.

Wow, wow, wow. I like it. You can read more of my comments on the front pages.

There's a hundred Mando customs out there, but this one is really good.
Your base figure is great. I have to look into the marauder figures.
Your armor is excellent. What bits and pieces of other figures did you use?
That is an amazing paint job. Love the weathering and wear.
Where did you get the head? He does look like a broad face Jeremy Bulloch. Is the helmet hollow or does it swap with the head?

I didn't use any other pieces from other figures, other than just cutting the face part of Jango's helment and gluing it to the Marauder helmet

That xwing pilot looks like great potential bro. Cant wait to see the outcome. Cool boboba too bbfet

I am gonna have to change the xwing code for that smile.
Anyhow, loving some of that Marauder stuff. Gonna have to check out those guys.
Time to get your Rebel Pilot on the fp. I like the background on that figure too!
-
Hey guys! Here's a few customs I recently finished. A Rebel Pilot in Marauder Armor, complete with his own droid I call him R0-B1, or Robi. And a few other pilots I did a while ago, just as diorama filler.
Pilot is made from Marauder Task Force Figure, with the 5 POA X-Wing Luke's helmet. Vest is from a GI Joe Airtight. Droid is a Power Rangers Alpha head and an old R2 body.
Enjoy!

Very cool Pilot. The droid is awesome!

Hey guys!
I just finished a FO-Stormie. Body is Maraurder Task force, head is from a 5 POA New Order Trooper. I had to use a bit of sculpting putty to make the head fit in place, and painted the cod piece/crotch.
My only complaint with this Maraurder figure is that the white paint apps do not match the armor pieces, like their other figures. Maybe it's just the figure I got, but the white paint almost has a yellowish tint to it.
Thanks for looking!

Now that is one cool looking Stormtrooper. That armor even makes those horrible First Order Stormtrooper helmets look better. Very nice custom figure!
-
Wow that looks tough. Off to share. So great to see full articulation. To be honest with as much as the helmet sculpt has changed I would have liked this version of the FO Stormy better than the one they gave us.
-
Hey guys!
Here's a GI Joe Budo I finished using a Maraurder Taskforce body and James McCullian (Destro's Ancector) chest armor. The recipe is borrowed, with the exception of the vintage helmet I added. I had to cut and resculpt part of the back so it would fit on the Hogan head properly.. then I repainted it.
Budo was always one of my most favorite GI Joes. A samurai and a GI Joe?! How awesome was that? I remember the 11 year me, would pretend he was some ancient warrior that awoken to help combat evil.. or a Joe that could transform in to him.. like Donald Blake -- in to Thor. Either way.. he was such a bad *** figure.
So, in honor of that 11 year old.. I thought I would deviate from my usual "photo-shoot" and do something a bit more fun.
Enjoy!
Sometime before 1980, and definitely after one of the feudal eras in Japan...Hogan was on a date with a hot Japanese Princess.
Suddenly, an evil Demonic Robot Shogun appeared.
Evil Demonic Robot Shogun: Ah! I've been looking for a beautiful virgin princess... to be my bride. I will use you and your kingdom to help me take over the world. Nothing will be able to stop me and my evil demonic robot army!
Hogan: No way I'm going to let you take her! Not without a fight! And she's not a...
Evil Demonic Robot Shogun: Fool! You are no match for me, and my unholy evil blade -- The Facelifter of the most Venomous Shark-bite! Ha ha ha! Feel it's bite!
Hogan: Wait! I need to tell you someth----.... ugh....
As Hogan begins to regain consciousness, he sees a strange katana laying on the ground beside him with a note:
"Hogan, use this sword the "Super God Skewer" to call on the power of the samurai warrior.. the Budo! Hold the sword up and read the inscription on the blade! Find me! And Save me! ~ The Princess"
Hogan: The blade reads:
"The great sword sheathed
Glitters brightly in the dark
Unseen and at rest -- until now"
That's so lame.
Hogan: How about -- I HAVE THE POWER!
BOOM!
Budo: Fawk yeah! It worked! And on the back of this sword, it says, please read your other sword.
Budo: Well that's interesting. I'll have to remember that for later. Off to find the Princess!

Sometime later....
Budo: There you are! Let her go! Or else!
Evil Demonic Robot Shogun: Ha ha ha! Or else what?!
Budo: Or else I'm going to flatten you like a pancake! Ah...fawk it. I need Voltronzord power! NOW!
BOOM!
Evil Demonic Robot Shogun: CURSES!
Budo: See.. I tried to warn you. Twice!
Evil Demonic Robot Shogun: Warn me about what?
Budo: LOL....She's no virgin!
Princess: HOGAN!
Budo: Ha ha ha!

Great figure, great story. Thanks for sharing. Now off to the pages for me to share this!

I always liked the concept of Budo as well. Outstanding execution on this figure - he looks great! The story is hilarious :) Keep up the excellent work

So I managed to get my hands on all three Rey figures.. with the plan to kitbash them together to make one super articulated Jedi/Resistance Rey. I didn't like the 5POA Resistance Rey's head initually, and was planning on using the 5POA Jakku head instead. But then changed my min.. I think the Resistance head is probably the best out of the three.

For her pants, I used part of the Walmart Jakku Rey's skirt, cut it in to two strips, and then flipped it inside out. I glued it to the legs, making space for the join to bend in the back
(http://www.hisstank.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=166744&d=1458590888)
As far as how I did it.. I cut the 5POA Resistance's torso in half, cracked the Walmart Jakku's torso to get the arms and lower body apart. I cracked part of the the 5POA Resistance's torso to get arms out and dremmel space to put the articulated arms in. I used putty to join the newly articulated Resistance's torso on to the lower half of the Walmart Jakku's. Cut the arms off of the 5POA Resistance, dremmeled out to fit on the articulated arms, then cut the hands off added articulation.

Skirt was taken from a Camie Marstrap.. which is a perfect color match. Holster is from a Bom Vindin figure. Satchel is from an Indiana Jones figure
-
Wow, she looks fantastic! Wonderful work and off to share.
-
:o wow what a fantastic job
this looks really great, I hope Hasbro does half as good if this version ever gets released.
-
This is the ULTIMATE REY! I absolutely love it. Great job 0/
-
She turned out beautifully. Great combination of parts.
-
Very impressive! I was hoping to see a well-articulated resistance Rey!
-
Hey guys!
In honor of The Force Awakens' physical home release on Tuesday, here's a Kylo (B)en custom I finished using a Marauder Task Force figure, and a 5 POA Armor Up Kylo Ren fig. The hood and belt (I think) is from a Revenge of the Sith Vintage Collection Palpatine (the one with the "fur" shaw), and the soft goods were taken from a VC Darth Vader.. I think. The retracted light saber hilt was made from a random light saber I had and a part of a blaster I cut and glued on. Alt head is a Prince of Persia figure
Enjoy!

Nice! The Dastan head works quite well actually.
-
That does look good. Time to go share this.
-
Greetings gents!
I was able to find a Force Awakens Han in the wild, finally! I already had parts set aside to make a better articulated figure, I just needed this one for his head and jacket. :P
Head and jacket are from the 5poa figure. I painted the hair black, then dry brushed it with white and silver. Chest and holster are from a Vintage Collection Han, legs are from Bom Vimdin. Arms are from an Indiana Jones figure. The hands are unknown.. they were laying around. :P
Here's how he turned out!

Looks great to me. Off to share.
-
Outstanding upgrade on a 5POA figure and thanks for the recipe. I didn't know the head was such a good likeness. Nice detailing on the head.
I have a couple of spare Bom Vimdens in the fodder box. I should have some figure with compatible arms.
-
Love it! :)
-
Great work! I'm wanting to make an articulated Han, and yours gave me a new idea or two.
Now I just need to find Han.
-
Really like the kylo and Han is cool. Nice job
-
Hey guys! Just finished another Marauder figure. This time it's Han rocking some Marauder armor.
Head, vest and holster are from a VC Endor Han. Everything else is from Marauder Inc.
He's an update to this older figure I did 6 years ago:

Let me know what you think!
-
That's a different look, but its pretty great!
-
wow, that marauder figure is off the charts tough looking. Time to go share.
-
very cool!
-
Very cool !
-
Thanks alot! Now I'm more convinced to get some Marauders figures! There goes my paycheck.
-
Nice Force Awakens Han! But one thing I like is re-designs and I really dig the armored Han you built a lot!!
-
Greetings gents!
Here's yet another Star Wars character.. yup.. in Marauder Armor. I haven't been able to find the Walmart Black Series Phasma yet, so I decided to make my own. And I'm more satisfied with this version as opposed to Hasbro's
Body, pouches, shoulder armor, and alternative head are all Marauder INC.
Helmet, belt, cape and blaster are from the 5POA Phasma
Chest armor is from the Armor Up (WarMachine) Finn
I painted the Marauder Task Force figure's armor plates silver, as well as the Armor Up Finn's. I cut the neck peg off of the 5POA Phasma, cut the host figure body's too. I actually added a little piece of plastic I saw laying around to elevate the peg a bit higher, to give Phasma more height.
I also cut off one the extra pouches I ordered from Marauder INC and glued the peg on to the blaster, so it can peg in to Phasma's thigh.
I loved that we never saw Phasma's face in Force Awakens. Which got me thinking.. how cool would it be that Phasma is the name of the armor, and not the person wearing it? If someone dies wearing it, another dons it. And Phasma lives on.. living up to the namesake... which is a ghost/phantom/apparition. Phasma could be male or female. Alien or human.
Anyway, comments are always welcome!

I like your take on this character so much better. Looks tough. You are sure using those Marauder Figures to great effect. Off to share on the front pages.
-
Great job, that is what a great figure is; cool and striking.
Now i want to see it in all black and all white.
Great work!!!
-
I really like how the Marauder base adds detail to the armor. Great job with these (Phasma looks great!).
-
DaBooma,
That Cpt Phasma looks Awesome!
-
Hey guys!
Like the majority of you...I'm getting super pumped about Rogue One. Sadly, Hasbro still doesn't "get" what people want.. figures with articulation greater than 5 points.
So what happens when Hasbro will only give us 5 points of articulation 4 inch figures? We rebel! And make our own!
And that's what I did. with Jyn Erso and for the fun of it...a Death Trooper Officer to command the troops.
Let me know what you think! I'll also be putting them on ebay if anyone is interested.

Sweet!

That's a pretty sweet custom helmet!
-
Nice, very nice. Off to share.
Give us a link to your eBay auction when you go live and I will feature it with the news story.
-
Beautifully done.
What figures did you use for joint fodder?
How did you match the paint so well?
What's your technique for preventing joint rub?
-
I have one word for you: Excellent.
You are right, these are the figures we want! great job!! I love your Death Trooper Officer, your set up is outstanding.
-
Great work mate.
Ron
-
Brilliant job on the Phasma! I really enjoyed your concept and the execution is excellent. The Jyn and Death Trooper are great. I think that Jyn's head is a movie Scarlet Witch, am I right? Its a surprisingly good choice for as a substitute head.
-
Fantastic on these two
-
Well guys, my days of customizing/collecting figures are coming to a close. What started out as a fun, creative and social hobby has become somewhat disappointing and frustrating. Hasbro's lack of articulation in it's figures and 2 "meh" movies, plus a lack luster toyline for them, has taken so much of this hobby's enjoyment away from me. And the only place to get what few articulated figures there are..is either ebay or Walmart. I've even begun selling off my Star Wars collection. I just don't have that enthusiasm for it--as I once did. Heck, I even got rid of the back drop I used to use for taking pictures of my customs
It was due in part to a customizer known as Bantha5 that in 2005, got me interested in this hobby with his awesome Clone Trooper to Commander Cody kit and Neyo kits (http://forum.rebelscum.com/showthread.php?t=906805). As well as inspiration from Sith_Fire30 and Glassman6's work. It was they that got me hooked on Rebelscum's forums, checking it out several times a day just to see what awesome and creative work others had to share. Eventually they stopped posting, as well as others I followed. Rebelscum started to "dry up", which lead me to other sites.. like this phenomenal community at the Shipyards. But I'm not as active on here as I wish I could be.
That being said...I've been working on two favored figures for a bit, and they will be my last. Up first is Sabine Wren. Although I'm not a fan of Rebels, I kinda dig the character and design. I made her mostly for my young daughter, hopefully she might appreciate the figure when she gets older.
So without further adieu.. Sabine Wren.
Body: Marauder Inc Valkyrie
Head: Marauder Inc Valkyrie
Chest Armor: Marauder Inc Valkyrie
Helmet: Hasbro Sabine Wren Version 2
Shoulder pads: random figure
-
First off your Sabine is fantastic. One of the best versions of her I have seen. Your daughter will be stoked.
Now for the rest. It is with a heavy heart when I read this was the first of the last two customs you are gonna make and that you are getting out of collecting and customizing. I am hoping we can talk you out of that, but I sure do understand where you are coming from. Aside from the every increasing cost of what we deem figures that actually move there just doesn't seem to be anything on the pegs we want anymore. Thank the maker for small companies like Maruader that are making stuff folks can use to make even better stuff like you did with Sabine. Thank you for posting your work here and know that we will leave the light on after we showcase your second custom should you ever get the itch again. Sniff. Sniff.
-
Sabine looks fantastic, you did an awesome job with the paints apps and the articulation you did should be part of these figures IMO (take note Hasbro).
Ron
-
Sabine looks fantastic! I'm excited for the Valkyrie figures for exactly what have shown they can do. I've really enjoyed your work over the years and while I understand your choice, i hope you won't be a stranger to the forums.
On another note - where did you find the Viking statue you used as "color" for your photos? That would be great dio fodder.
-
Starchaser, the Viking statues are from an old Lord of the Rings Helms Deep playset
-
Hello guys! After a 5 year hiatus, I'm back.
The pandemic boredom got me back in to customizing. I have a ton of things to show you all.
To start off, here's my take on Kenner's concept design for the Clone Warriors, post Return of the Jedi.
I've been working on him for a few years, and was just sitting in my "To Finish" bin. So I decided to finish what I started.
He's made from
Head: VC Kylo Ren with scraps of plastic glued on
Body: VC Biker Scout
Lower Arms: Armored Cobra Commander
Lower Legs: Armored Cobra Commander
Cape: Imperial Guard
Shoulder Armor: GI Joe Medi Viper
Gun: Custom pieces cut and glued together
Faceplate: Random armor from Boss Fight Studios Hacks Figure
Thanks for looking!
-
So awesome to see you back! We left the light on for you.
Great Warrior. I like him.
Off to share on the front pages.
-
Wow, its been a while. Great to see you back. This was a really fun build. Nice job assembling all the parts for what is a pretty interesting figure. Looking forward to seeing what else you've done.
-
I thought it would be cool to pay homage to a few of the actors behind the masks and under the helmets of our favorite characters.
3P0:
Head - Lt Dannl Faytonni
Body - 40th Anniversary C-3PO Droid Factory (only sold at Disney Theme Parks?)
Vader:
Head - Power of the Force Anakin
Body & Helmet - 30th Anniversary Collection Vader
Boba Fett:
Head - Jeremoch Colton
Body - VC186 Boba Fett
Helmet - VC186 hallowed out
-
Wow, my first reaction was that I was amazed by how much Lt Dannl Faytonni actually looks like Anthony Daniels. That's because I never knew that he actually played this character in Attack of the Clones...
It's so nice to see Vader actually smile. The head sculpt is really well done by Kenner. Your customs are also a nice tribute to David Prowse and Jeremy Bulloch. I think it was a respectful gesture by George Lucas to give some roles of the Prequels to actors of the Original Trilogy.
Thank you so much for sharing the recipes as well! I think you did a great job portraying all three of them.
-
Wow, so nice. Man, why wouldn't Hasbro do a set like this for the anniversary of something Star Wars. I didn't even know about some of these heads from your recipes. Thanks for sharing.
Off to the front pages.
-
That's a great idea! Those look really great. Nice execution.
-
Nice job on the tribute figures. The look really good.
-
Hey guys! Here's my Vintage Collection style Darth Revan.
This is the second longest custom for me to finally finish. Mostly because I couldn't find the right replacement head/helmet. Thanks to a seller on Etsy, this one is finally---done.
I couldn't believe I'm posting this update almost exactly 10 years to the day, when I first started this thread. My first post here was Canderous Ordo, next to his buddies.
Head: Etsy seller (not painted by me)
Body: 30th Collection Darth Revan
Legs: Random Darth Vader
Feet: GI Joe Wraith
Cape: made using a Darth Vader cape and hood from an Emperor Palpatine robe sewed on
Skirts: Random Darth Vader Figure and Emperor's Royal Guard
Lightsabers:Etsy seller
Lightsaber blades: Random Vader and Mace Windu
-
Together again after 10 years!
-
Looks great! Cool to see them all together. The soft goods are excellent. It's sure nice to have access to third party printers for heads and parts we might not be able to sculpt ourselves, isn't it?
-
Great custom and congratulations on 10 years here with us! Thats awesome!
Off to share on the front pages.
-
That Revan looks amazing. Fantastic work! DH
-
Hey guys! It's been a while. Here's the most recent custom I finished. Tunghori has been restocking Sandstorm Leia over the past few weeks, so I grabbed one (as well as a Bespin Escape Leia from him) to make an updated Slave Leia/Jabba's prisoner/Hutt Slayer figure.
The recipe isn't mine, but I had to copy it.
Head: VC Bespin Escape Leia
Body: VC Sandstorm Leia
Neck chain: Trilogy Collection Slave Leia
I used little metal rings from an old necklace for her earrings, and used a copper colored permanent marker to repaint her hair decorations
-
Few more shots
-
Nice! Tunghori may be the only outlet for this Leia figure that doesn't cost more than Jabba.
-
Absolutely phenomenal work on Leia's head! After the latest interview of Victoria's cantina with the brand team (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCpmqdrzaP8), I gained new hope for an updated version of Hutt Slayer Leia for TVC and TBS!
I'm also a big fan of your Darth Revan custom! Almost looks like Hasbro got inspired by it as well for their upcoming release. Wow!
And I agree with Starchaser.
-
As a followup, I love the Bespin Escape Leia's head sculpt so much, I'm using it on two more Leia bodies, that I also picked up from Tunghori....
(Random thought...how easy would it be for Hasbro to make one head, and make her hair braids interchangeable? Each of her hair styles could easily just peg in the back of her head)
-
Incredible! I wasn't really aware of her good likeness before. You did a great job modifying your Leias! 0//
-
Sweet!
Sweet design, indeed! Love the hybrid of BARC and Death Trooper helmet! Brilliant idea there.
-
I'd like to share some of the older customs I did over the past few years while on hiatus. This one is from 2017-ish. I call him "Get Off My Lawn" Luke Skywalker from the Last Jedi.
As much as I dislike the sequels more then the prequels, I really dig the concept of his costume. It kinda has a Lord of the Rings/Hobbit vibe, mixed with pieces of his costumes from Return of the Jedi.
Parts:
Hood, Jacket, Head, Hands, staff: Jedi Exile Luke
Body: Clone Wars Count Dooku
Lower Legs and Lower Arms: VC12 Darth Sidious
Magnet and Metal Lightsaber: Saga Series Hanger Duel Anakin
-
I like the way he turned out. Really nice combination of parts.
-
Here's another few customs I did back in 2017. I'm not even sure why. I guess I was pretty bored back then! LoL
Rey had 5 point articulation. So I decided to give her more. I used the 3.75 Black Series Jakku Rey's head, arms, waist and upper legs. Lower legs were from Cami Marstrap.
Kylo is from the 3.75 Black Series, minus his cloth skirt, and the plastic skirt underneath trimmed. The cape is from an old Vader.
-
Imagine its 2016, and Rogue One came out. You think Chirrut Imwe is the most interesting and unique character to come out of Star Wars movies in a very long time. He's not quite a Jedi, he's blind, but he can see using the force, sort of a Star Wars version of.... Daredevil. Hasbro is on it's 5 point articulated figure kick, and you really want to have an articulated version of this cool character. So you make your own, using a Marauder Inc body, and scavenge as much as you can off the 5 point articulated Rogue One figure.... and you come up with this!
I wanted to show a comparison of what Hasbro eventually released as part of their Vintage Collection....which looks terrible. I also wanted to show what a head swap would look like on the Marauder body.
-
The Marauder custom looks good. The headswap is a great idea. My problem with the Marauder figures is they are just a smidge too tall for some figures.
-
I really dig Fennec Shand as a character. When I got the Vintage Collection figure of her, she looked so...odd. Distorted. So I decided to see how I could make her taller.
I used the thigh and upper legs from the Selina Kyle (Zoe Kravitz )figure from The Batman movie, and they were a perfect fit. I just used Fennec's lower legs...and viola! She looks proportional!
I also gave her a leg holster. And a removable helmet...something I wish Hasbro included, instead of swapable heads.
Here's a comparison shot of how her new height compares to her old, and next to Boba.
-
That's a great fix. She looks excellent.
-
Easy fix and makes her appear much more accurate. I always did think she looked kinda short in TVC. Great job!
-
I was actually quite happy with the height and quality of Hasbro's version. But now that I see your upgrade, I think it makes sense. I also got two from TungHori to display both - one with and the other without helmet. I might have a third one, so I will see if I can customize one as well.
Thanks for the heads up! Your modified Fennec does look better next to Boba.
Add: I just checked and recognized that I do have this Selina Kyle figure! I found it some time ago for 3€ at a dollar store.
I really like the green hood for your lawn Luke by the way!
-
Yep, thats the one we needed. Nice.
Off to share the update.
-
I bought extras of that Selena Kyle figure since they were so cheap. I’ll definitely do this! Great job!
-
Which helmet looks better?
The original on the left.....or the Retro Collection Bo Katan's head... on the right?
-
I'm actually not sure...
-
I like the one on the right, but have no real reason. Both look good.
-
Hey guys!
I decided to make my own definitive version of the Vintage Collection Maul. There's quite a few things this figured needed in terms of improvement. Bendable wrists, a better head sculpt, swap-able hands, and swivel thighs, plus a small magnet so I could attach his hilt to his belt. Here's how he turned out!
Head: VC201 Maul
Body & upper arms: VC86 Maul
Lower arms: VC232 Imperial Gunner
Hands & gloves: Zorro Hero H.A.C.K.S.
Upper Legs: VC264 Luke Skywalker (Imperial Light Cruiser)
Lower Legs: VC86 Maul
Enjoy!
-
Maul needed a few more things to make him my "definitive".
IMO the Sith Accessory pack has the best Maul soft goods robe. The other little accessories are a nice little touch.
-
I like the size of the Retro eye-slit, but the retro style range finder just doesn't work for TVC.
Which helmet looks better?
The original on the left.....or the Retro Collection Bo Katan's head... on the right?
-
That Darth Maul looks really great!
-
This looks great!
On the front pages.
-
That's amazing amounts of articulation. Great mix of parts on this!
