Hi All

LONG RANGE RECON SANDTROOPER

I've always wanted on of the Hasbro's 1/6 Dewbacks and when I finally got one I just had to redo it. When I started this project I wanted I Dewback carrying more then just a sack or two,  so I started adding heaps of gear and transformed the Dewback and Sandtrooper into a Long Range Recon unit. And as always the figures and scenery have been painted,  drybrushed and weathered using Vallejo, Games workshop paints and pastels.

RECIPE

Figure - The whole figure is from Medicom except the body which is an old Sideshow Body and the hands which are from Sidsshow Indiana Jones figure with the armour added from the Medicom figure.  The extra gear on the Sandy is the map case and bino case which are both from Dragon models.

Dewback - The Dewback is from Hasbro I removed the old rubber reins and gave it some leather reins from the parts box.  The clips are from some 1/6 WW2 German bread bags and the O-rings are again from the parts box.

The water bottles are from a WW1 Aussie Light Horse man,  and the rest of the bags  and gear are from some WW2 British and German figures from Dragon. The long Range communication device is from Hasbro's STAP Droid.

The Blastech RT-97c Heavy Blaster Rifle is from Sideshow Toys and the carry bag for it has been made from leather and left over straps.

Base - The base is from an old desk I had in the garage and the rocky/snady terrian is made from plaster of paris with wood glue added and fine sand and kitty litter added for texture.

oh.... so the trooper is 12"?  interesting.  I realy didn't notice that at first.  Would you mind getting a shot of the finished dewback next to the original sandtrooper that came with it?

it looks great man.  I can't get over how awesome your finished pieces look.  They look like studio models, they realy do.

I just cant get over the loss of the articulation :( it breaks my heart... :'(
