The Spectre:
Mattel's "Jurassic World" Action Attack Assortment Review:

Part of Mattel's inaugural "Jurassic World" releases is an Action Attack assortment containing a Carnotaurus and a Stegosaurus.

Both dinosaurs in the Action Attack assortment are very large. They both feature decent articulation and great paint apps.

The Carnotaurus is a dinosaur that "Jurassic Park" fans have waited a long time to see onscreen. Originally slated for "The Lost World: Jurassic Park", it lost its starring role to a different dinosaur. The Carnotaurus has also been getting some decent toy love in the last few years. This version is by far the best toy version of the Carnotaurus ever released. From nose to tail it is well over a foot long. The Carnotaurus features 10 points of articulation- 3 of which are tied to its action feature- Ball jointed tail, ball hinged hips/shoulders, swivel feet and hinged neck/head/jaw. The hips have very shallow lateral movement but they can still get some decent posing. The neck, head and jaw are tied to the button activated action feature. If you press the well disguised button on the dinosaur's back, the head swings downward and the jaw snaps open and shut extremely quickly. The paint apps are clean and neat.

The Stegosaurus is also well over a foot long and features 7 points of articulation- ball hinged neck/hips(4), hinged base of tail and a hinged mid tail segment. have a wide range of lateral motion. The rear hips have some shallow lateral movement while the front hips. Some knee joints would have been nice for this dinosaur to achieve more dynamic poses but are not a deal breaker. The tail joints are tied to the button activated action feature. If you depress one of the upright plates on the Stegosaurus' back, the tail lashes out to the right. The motion is smooth and quick. The paint apps are clean and neat.

These dinosaurs are a bit pricier at $19.99 but are still a great toy for the money. There is one more dinosaur, a Suchomimus, coming later this year that looks great and I plan to get it as soon as I see it.
