Got this one from EE and have been jonesing to open him up.
One of the more anticipated figures for me from this year's Vintage Collection line, the Rebel Fleet trooper includes a fine list of accessories and great detail that make this one nicely revamped figure that had needed an update.
Articulation wise, the fleet trooper has a ball jointed head, ball jointed shoulders, elbows, knees, and ankles. He has swivel jointed wrists, waist, and thighs.
He includes a removable helmet, an optional ball-cap, a removable leg accessory, a Yavin-used hand held rangefinder/speed tracking device, and a rebel pistol.
That vest is not removable and is part of the upper torso sculpt. The sculpting is nice and coloring is pretty much spot-on.
I would have preferred him to have some of the better articulation points that the VC54 arc trooper commander has, namely, the added hand articulation and especially, the ball jointed thighs. After all, I want to be able to pose this guy as if he is in a corridor of the Tantive V, kneeling and drawing a bead on a door that the Imperials are about to bust through. Though I could get him to kneel, his swivel jointed thighs prevented me from making it a realistic pose that he could hold on his own without the aid of a CW figure stand.
Still, the figure does look great and is a convincing representation of his on-screen counterpart. The addition of the Yavin accessories make this one a must for the OTC collectors as does the Star Wars vintage card.

Yes, as Spooky said you can see them in the background in the Hangar and in the medal ceremony at the end.
Exelent review Clint! I sure hope I find one soon!

This is a great review man.
I just got a pair in from HK yesterday... WOW these are really nice toys!
I thought I might add that you can really REALLY build your armies with this set. There's enough here to equip two figures easily. The head swaps easily onto many, MANY different bodies. A little fun tak on the ball and you're ready to go! And since there was numerous types of soliders with the ballcaps at the end ceremony of STAR WARS, the extra caps will come in very handy to fill out the rebel ranks!
One of mine came with a unique blaster pistol... it's a little different than the standard ones. Not sure if this is a mistake or a variant, or I got an incorrect gun from the seller. It looks like "error/mistake" to me. I don't want to hijack a great review with minutia like that, where should I post pictures of it??
Anyway great review Clint, you're the best!!

Hey Clint we must be in sync buddy! I got this guy on Saturday too. I am going to do a review on YT for him today or tonight. Want me to put up the link??

Yakface.com found that a Rebel trooper was wearing a baseball cap in ANH, I think it was during the Yavin ceremony.
Nice review by the way Clint!

Yeah, Chad, that's cool. Put your review link in here and I will make sure it sees the front page as well.
I took some pics for a Joe figure review as well that I may get up tonight.

Oh cool I cannot wait to see it. YOu are getting more Joes than me lately!

I can't wait to see this guy start showing up in the wild. I want a few of them at least. Great review, you've sold me on this figure.
-
He's better than I had hoped! Wonder if Tunghori will end up selling them in lots of 5? I could use quite a few, kinda like the Bespin Lukes!
-
Going to the Review Section with this Clint. It is very good. Sorry it has taken me so long.
If you guys get a video review link loaded up here I can add the blue play button too.

my only complaint with figures like these, super action scene figures (stormtrooper, RFT, rebel soldiers etc) is that they cant kneel properly and they cant hold their blasters out in front of them with both hands, but I'll be getting 4 or 5 of these...
-
Damn it. These vintage figures drive me nuts... they're just TOO good, and I can never find half of them. Grrr... this one especially. Just a perfect figure.

I hear you, I haven't seen one yet either.
