You definitely should.  The Aves products are amazing.  I'm going back and revisiting a lot of my customs and enhancing or improving them now that I have an extra tool in my skill set and it isn't that hard.  Time consuming but loads of fun.  It's best to work on several figures at once.  I bounced back and forth between six different figures.  Sculpted on Saturday and painted on Sunday.

Thanks everybody for the words of encouragement.  It makes me want to try and finish my Vader Clone Apprentice today if I can.

Wow!!  Great looking sculpting.  Where do you get the Aves stuff?  And any chance you'd consider doing a mini-tutorial/intro to working with the Aves material?

I put a link in the blog post so people could order it direct at the Aves website.  Here's the link to the post:
http://customsforthekid.blogspot.com/2011/03/dad-creates-wookie-padawan.html

I would consider it, but since this is only the 2nd action figure that I created in this way, I'm not sure I have the best credentials to be doing it.  Before these action figures, I had no sculpting experience.  Never sculpted a thing.

I could put out a good effort though.

I'll create a new topic for it when I sit down to create my next sculpture.  If I didn't just finish my Vader Clone Apprentice, that would have been a good place to start since it was only adding details to clothing, but I'm sure people are more interested in creating heads so it's probably for the better anyway.

Definitely give it a whirl that way I have another beginner like myself to bounce questions off of.

Like I posted in Rusty's board, I am not brave enough to sculpt. I think I am not patient enough and don't believe I have the skills. Great job.

Not bad, not bad at all!  That wookiee fur looks really good!  I'm with Mungo on this: not sure I've got the talent or patience to even try sculpting.  Bravo to those who can/do!

Light side, dark side...meh.  Just give me a lightsaber and a blaster and I'll take care of it!
