Reconsgts' Dios
« on: September 20, 2009, 02:52:50 PM »
Here are some pics of my Endor Dio I did back in 04 I think. Dio is on a bench outside of my house so the far background is my woods the rest is the dio, I strived for realism so I feel it blends well. In subsequent shots from the top down you can see where the dio ends and my lawn begins ;)

I lost my building of shots when my old HD crapped out. I will see if I can recover more from other sites I posted them on,. One was  pissy I left and deleted my work but I bet a few others have some left up.

Oh yes, I've seen this before, but it is AWESOME! For me, the Endor & Hoth battles are the 2 most exciting movie scenes of all time, you have done a fantastic job re-creating Endor. Great images as well.

Oh and this weekend both my PC and my Network Drive have both Crashed, Kapoot...I am fuming, I'm so close to bouncing the Network Drive around my back yard right now...Darkchild, everything was backed up on it.....PC's / VISTA I HATE YOU!!!!!

I was up in my garage attic today and I found an old tub of dio supplies I had stashed, in it was a few pieces I started but never finished, One being a lava flow I was doing ala EPIII . I got the lava flow painted but never went any further. I may have to finish it but building the rocks and ledge.  Here is a snap of the lava flow

That lava flow looks killer, Wayne. yep, you should crank out an awsome ROTS mustafar dio with that.

You know that I like realistic looks in a figure, vehicle or diorama.
This stream lava fits right in.
Nice work!

I actually used both, along with dried moss I left out for a week, I then crunched it up into fine particles and used that as the base ground cover.

Yep,  on the Endor dio, I cut branches from a tree I cut down, to make sure they didn't rot I clear coated them in varnish.

Now a WIP as asked for

Here is the rough beginings of a battle platform I will be using as the centerpiece of a new Dio, featuring some Mandos.   I have the base coat on and 2 layers of gunk, it still needs alot of the finish detailing of the platform, ie  rust and dirt wear and grim but it's started , then on to all the added bits, This was a complete Joe Bf when I started, all will be modified and used on here with some added pieces and a ground cover and build up. The plywood it is on will be part of the dios base so it will be completely landscaped, one day ;)
