though I have little time to work on my current paintings there is always time to do speed paintings or scetches. So I did this quick concept for a crossover trooper, a wild mixture of ideas, old and new ones... it was late, I was tired, so not much thinking about logical stuff, but I wanted to do this scetch and he just had to look cool ;)
So what do you think?

Wow! amazing image, especially given that it was a quick sketch. It shows how talented you are.

you really keep me going, thanks a lot my dear friends!!!  your feedback really means the world to me.

and because I have such inspiring friends I did another quick concept, this time using winter clothing and more WW2 influence than Star Wars, basicly a development of the trooper seen in the winter scene togehter with this Gladiator machine:

thanks!

That trooper is awesome.  The one before him is awesome.  This entire THREAD is awesome!!  In fact, your artworks are helping me refine a project of mine.  I have a mercenary company (mainly scout/light infantry) in my fictional setting (see any of my Fixer/NaNoWriMo threads in Fan-Fic) that I want to show as fully-developed figures.  I really have not yet hit on an artistic "look" for them, but now that I sit down and read through your thread, you are helping me get there!

Ha...  Building action figures as concept art...

In that last figure - it is haunting me! - I'm seeing:

McQ Snowie helmet (from Clint)
Cmdr Gree torso
Vader waist/codpiece
Scout Trooper legs

dunno on the great-coat and arms yet - maybe a Cade Skywalker coat?  But the arms elude me...

Hi Luke and Doc, thanks a lot for your uplifting feedback!!

@DOC, I am very happy that my work is such an inspiration. What I like most is the idea of seeing this concepts as doing custom figures - and yeah, thats what it is. Cool.  I am really looking forward on how you will develop them and I now that I know about a fan fiction of yours I sure must read it.

Your checklist is amazing, for I really used a McQ Snowie helmet as reference, all other parts seem to fit, too...  C. Skywalker coat sounds good. Wow, it would be great to see this concept as real figure...
Its fantastic to see so many different aspects of creativity coming together. And I think the threads name or its idea was only a starting point for all kind of infantry concepts or troopers in common.
You are inspiring me, too :)

Art, the last image is another superb piece of work. The eyes remind me of an image I saw in the 80's of a soldier in full anti-radiation gear, it was a really haunting image, which for me summed up the horror of such a devastating type of warfare. It's the eyes in this image that draw the viewer in. This soldier is obviously going to war, the way he is looking at you shows both fear and courage. The goggles create a barrier, evoking thoughts of the nameless men and women who die in conflicts.

Art is supposed to stir the emotions, and if you don't mind me saying so, this last image is my favourite for that very reason.
