everything looks great.  Is that atte going to be standard collors with a custom paint job on it or is it going to be a special set of colors from a different design scheme?

Are you going to paint the alien tattoos on starscreem like he has in the movie? I think that'd put it over the top.  I know they made the toy with them but with your custom paint job so far it'd look killer.

keep up the good work.

Thanks for the great word Spudfett!
Colors are always a hard question... I'm leaning towards standard F-22 colors with gold and silver highlights in the undercarriage assembly/robot areas. Though I was thinking of adding some of the older Red and Blue in there somewhere to pay honor to the old starscream. Though I don't know how much or where yet.

I have not yet decided if I'm going to apply the tattoo's that he has in the new  movie.  I think that if I do, there will be much fewer as I  agree with you that they went over the top with them.

I might just go with a more weathered and real look though.

niiice... but does it transform?  I checked out your gallery and didn't see any vehicle mode pics.  Is this one of them "robot replica" figures?  Either way it is a GREAT repaint and highly detailed.

I've seen alot of realy cool repainted transformer figs around the net since the new movie came out.  this is up there with the best of the one's I've viewed.

I probably wouldn't have the patience to paint a full sized transforming figure....  It's enough to have to paint it in one mode let alone make sure all the patterns still look good in the transformed vehicle or robot mode.  What I'd realy like to know is how they design the dang things to begin with!  I think they have some super duper oragami crazy genious or something locked away somewhere who comes up with the designs and transforming patterns....

Great customs there, I especially like the figures, the tank is also very exciting. I love anything like that, I'd love to see it in full Imperial/Republic colours....

Also to say welcome, I'm fairly new here myself, and the guys here have been really supportive and show a great interest in anything new, so please post more when you get the chance.

All the best,

Jules

It's a "robot replica". I had planned to use a deluxe fully transformable Starscream for this, but found that even though it would have been cool to do it may not have fit the project. Which was to create a custom for my buddies desk. The Robot Replica's make a great alternative to the larger transformable ones and provide a lot more detail even if they can't transform.

Thanks for all the great feedback everyone.

I just scored the mother load!!

My Mother called me and said.. "Son, we found a box of your toys.. and we are sending them to you because well, we don't want them.."

I was very happy to find a decent box waiting for me when I got home today.  It contained almost all of my GI Joe collection from when I was a kid. I think there may be at least one more box lost somewhere at my parents house, and who knows they may find it in the next few years and send it along.

Anyway! The good part.. I now have more weapons, backpacks, helmets and various fodder parts to keep me happy for the next 10 years. I have some decent vehicles in fairly good shape, and some classic large vehicles in ok shape. I'll post pics as I dig through the box.

Tonight I was able to get through "the Joe's" and their gear. Tomorrow night I'll go through the vehicles.  For your viewing pleasure and nostalgia.

In the below pics you can see weapons, backpacks, missiles, helmets, figures with loose hips, and figures with tight hips. In the background  you can see the Snow Cat, and the Cobra glider as well as two cycles and the Manta mail away sail board. I couldn't believe I still knew how to assemble some of this stuff.

I can't wait to customize some of these vehicles!! I'm giddy with excitement!! heheh

Nice nostalgic score there. I don't remember that alternate side car for the joe cycle. I just remember the gun one.

Cool find.
Lots of fun guaranteed.
My son found a bunch of my old stuff when staying with grandma and grandpa during the summer break and brought it back.
Now his room looks even more like mine when I was a kid.

any chance you'd wanna part with that cobra claw?

nice stuff there.  My parents would probably just throw my old stuff away if they found it at this point.  Heck last two moves I made with my familly alot of my stuff got donated to charity or sold in yardsales.... of course I never was big into action figures as a child anyway, legos was where it was at for me!

Let me see what I have for vehicles and then what I'm going to part with and keep. You're on the list though for the claw if I part with it..
