Jay, I've been trolling your youtube for sometime.

I joined Imperial Shipyards because of your custom videos. Thanks for the plug that has given me a venue to share my model kits.

If I may be so bold let me share a model kit tip. Try dry brushing all your colors with highlight shades. For example a dark brown leather pouch would have light brown dry brushing as well as a dark wash. So every color has 3 levels, base color, dark wash, highlight dry brush. Looks like your already doing this on metal items. Try on other things, think you will be very happy with the added depth. I do this on 1/4 scale, down to 1/35 scale.

Great work on all your customs, keep it up!

Don't sweat it, super easy. Just start with a very dry brush, to the point you think there is no paint left in the brush. This will destroy the brush however so use a flat or square bush you don't love for painting.

Also think about mixing mediums even further. The same theory that works for your ink washes over acrylic works with other mediums as well. Enamel, oil, ink, acrylic, chalk pastels, pencil, and pen can all combined for various effects. Look at your figures as little model tanks and apply those paint effects.

But please don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking on your process. Your customs looks great, some of the best hands down. Just wanted to share some of those "how did you do that" tricks.

Cheers

I would love to see some of these tips posted in the resources and references thread. I think Doc Outlands has even started a page on how to paint.

TODO  290

Todo 290 is a techno service droid onboard the Twi lek passenger liner "Star of Ryloth" during the days of the Republic and the Clone War,he is one of 12 Techno Service  Droids  onboard, his full designation is TODO 290/7c but most of the crew refer to him as "Bucket" for unknown reasons . His duties include hyperdrive maintenance .which he takes great pride in.
