Im still waiting for parts for the Aliens - Marines Dropship, so in the meanwhile I thought Id have a go at some Generic Outdoor Scenery, Ive set it up with the Marines and APC, but I guess it would work just as well for Star Wars etc! Hope you like it! :)

More pics! :)
-
And more! ;)
-
AWESOME WORK MAN! The vehicle looks even better in this setting.
-
Thanx Luke! The scenery is just some cardboard type packaging i found near a recycle bin, cut up, taped together and painted, then I added a bit of lightly painted tinfoil to simulate water, added a few Birch twigs and some appropriatelly coloured rocks! fairly simple, only took a few hours, but it think it looks quite effective! :)
-
sweet dio shots, SLR! I may save this for tomorrows front page.
Did you mention where that leg mounted weapon came from?
-
Thanx! Glad u like them!:) the mk2 sentry gun is posted in my custom vehicle thread! It's a mix of various guns and bits on a tripod! :)
-
We will see if Clint beats me to the front page with this tomorrow. Awesome dio.

Rockin' work Shaman! I can hear Hudson now, "This is just great man! What are we gonna do now?"
-
Thanx guys! I see we have a lot of Aliens fans here too! :)
AS I said earlier this generic scenery, would probably work just as well for Star Wars, so as I decided to repaint a few figures anyway and just for the fun of it, here is what an Imperial Bug hunt might look like! ;) LOL!
-
Enjoy! :)
-
Well now looks like my front page is shaping up just nicely for tomorrow. That AT-ST is off the charts!
-
Gorgeous work on this piece, ShamanLogRay! It looks fantastic! Very, very cool! 8)

Thanx r1bb1t! It does make your Hoth Dio look rather amateurish and very small! Ha ha! ;) ........................No Seriously, thanks! That means a lot coming from such a talented fella as you! :)

-

I had a few large bits of Polystyrene kicking around and 2 largish boxes made of it (the same as the one I used for my Tantive IV Dio which should be in my Star Wars Dio Thread near the beginning), so as I have now aquired a few Aliens, I thought I d have a go at something like a modular Dio. The main building is curerently only held together with matches, but there will be 2 floors as they are seperate boxes stacked on top of each other, the fence is literally just some packing laid out as is the landing pad. SO very early days, Ive only cut a few bits of Polystyrene and stuck them on a coupke of boxes, but eventually this will be the Operations room, Med Lab, Medical, corridors and other stuff! Here are a couple of pics ! ;)
-
Ok, having laid this out I realised I was officially out of room and would have no where to display or store this! :(
But hey, who cares! SO here are the next pics of the main building. wich is now glued together! :)
I am working with a new building material for me on this and just using stuff lying around the place, so far it cuts easily using a hot wire, but the thickness of the material, means less interior space than when I used cardboard for the Tantive IV, so not as many rooms as i would have liked, but all the mains ones will be present, Lab, Medical and Operations, I will probably make a seperate long corridor attachement and I have used a staircase to connect the 2 levels. :)
But its still early days and theres a lot of detailing, etc, to add yet! :)
Enjoy! :)
-
This is the second level! :)
-
Awesome. Time to go back to the front page.
-
Thanx! :)
-
Man, all yer seriously awesome Aliens stuff makes me wanna watch it on repeat and play with my custom USCM and xenomorph toys all day! Truely inspiring!
-
Freakin awesome! Keep up the great work on these dios! Your Hadley's Hope is kicking ass :)
-
Your Hadley's Hope rocks! 8)
-
Aw shucks guys! You'll give me a big head! Lol! Glad you like it! But its still not a patch on your work! :)
-
A very impressive creation, the buildings look extremely accurate, and I love the scale, you'll be giving Ribb1t a run for his money.
I'm interested to see how you'll paint the foam and also looking forward to seeing this evolve
I also just commented on your Marines, and seeing the diorama I think that this whole set is very unique.
-
d@m buddy that is bad $$ness @ it's max
and who needs room for storage F it put it on the living room table :P
-
Very cool! Cover that thing in plaster and PVA glue mixed then paint it up! Loving the structure of it!
-
Looks cool
-
Sad news! :(
Thanx for all the encouragement and support guys, I had hoped to complete this Hadleys Hope dio, but due to having literally run out of storage space, it was on my lounge floor, which was getting a bit annoying and I had caused it minor damage a few times, just moving around it. But a friends large friendly bouncy dog came to visit the other day and charged into my lounge in an excited to see me doggy state and ....well.... Crash!!!! Snap!! Etc, you get the idea! :( I probably could have salvaged it, but I decided its probably time I either work on smaller things or move house, sadly I don't think I can currently afford a move, so that's probably it for any sizeable dios for me! :(
Good news! I can now focus on working on smaller things such as figures and vehicles! :)
-
While i hate to hear that, I can sure understand it.
-
Thanx Shawn! I have had to get rid of a lot of things recently, but don't worry I still have the Star Destroyer & Death Star sphere! Lol!
I will just have to try my hand at small Dio's once in a while! :)
-
I know what you mean, we all face it. It is sad, you make something that is so cool and with new projects you run out of space. What I have come up with is trading figures with a few good friends. Selling some of them to get new fodder. Donate to a figure fund like at SW Celebration for diorama workshop. Good to know you will b keeping a few of your great builds.
-
Mate I totally love what you have been doing with the Aliens customs and the Hadleys Hope dio was looking amazing, I know as alot of us here do what it feels like to run out of space or damage a dio you are doing but keep the amazing work and look forward to seeing more from you soon.

Thanx guys! Your words are much appreciated! Sadly Luke I don't know many other customisers in the UK, Ray and I have had a bit of interaction recently, but not much else happening in my area custom wise I'm aware of! But Hemble your little dios are inspirational and I think I will try my hand at something more along your scale some time! But I will be keeping all my favourite bits, the rest have been donated to a few lucky kids! I will also continue with vehicles and figures, I still have a lot to learn when it comes to those , so there's still plenty to keep me going! My next project will be a USCMC Tank / APC, which I've just started on! :)

Appreciate the kind words thanks mate. As you mentioned I do like doing little dios firstly it saves on room which is always a bug issue and secondly I honestly belive you don't have to have a massive dio to tell a story or display figures or vehicles.
