-
Those are HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Wow seriously, thanks so much for all the compliments.
The endor one was my first dio.
It was fun too do.
I needm ore Ewoks lol.
The echo base is still really in progress. I have to add more ice and snow too it before its done.
Im also adding more of a head quarters/computer/war room area, more lights and lots more details.
I have to throw in some vintage, potj, potf, and the new stuff. There is greatness and goodness from the beginning to the now imho.
Much like g1 transformers, without the vintage originals, we wouldn't even be talking about this stuff.
-
AWESOME!

Wow! That is shaping up to be one stellar diorama! Your snow effects are superb, my friend.
-
I agree, some of your images really do make the set look virtually real scale.
Awesome! Envy rating is now at factor 10!!!
-
Man, you have put some quality work into this project. Great job so far.
-
great man, its looking awesome!
:)
-
Thanks guys....
Im really enjoying doing this.
The time put into it really makes it all worth it in the end.
The time put into it also takes a lot off of me mentally as I can just delve right into it and forget the rest of the world for a bit.
-
Yep, I guess that's why a lot of us do what we do... pure escapism...
-
Wow, I love the look of this. The lighting effects just go so well. Superb!
-
Thanks guys!! I can't wait for the weekend to work on this again.
-
Great ! I like the 'snow job'.

Hey Ron, thanks for the compliments. Coming from you and your talent, that means a lot too me.
-
Love the Hoth dio. Definitely coming along nicely. Your title of this thread mentions Tattoine. When can we expect to see pix of that dio?
As much as I love your great work so far, I'm really excited to see your take on the desert planet.

Thanks bro. The tat dio is still coming together.
I have only one of the platforms ready, I need to paint and install the other large one and the two small ones, which forms the room of the hoth/echo base dio.
Probably that will be done by not this weekend but next.
We had a death in the family this morning and things have really been put on hold. :-\
-
Well in the past two weekends I have worked on the echo base dio quite a bit.
I've started working on the main head quarters and the health station with Luke in bacta.
I took some more wip pics that I need to upload, and hopefully tonight Ill have the time too do that.
-
Sounds good to me. I can't get enough Hoth dios in my life.
-
Sorry I didn't update last weekend....we all had the flu. lvva

I have to bump this thread so that I can post new pics and a movie tomorrow.
-
Here's the video that I meant to put up about a month ago......phew better late than never.
-
Here's some pics of the dio. In some of the pics you will see that I don't have the black walk way in front of the x-wings. I've been debating on whether or not too keep it there or take it down.
What do you guys think?

hey, Mandalore the skepsis, where did you get this flexible hose you're using on the lights?
I'd like to use that for parts of my dio...
thanks
-
It *looks like* the cable-bundling wrap the WalMart carries in the "small electrical" section, held up by conduit u-clamps? *I* wanna know what those light-fixtures are.

I bought the hose from a online hose store... http://www.cabletiesandmore.com/
The light fixtures I made by using two water bottle caps glued together. I then took a dremel bit and made a hole through both once there cured.
The actual leds I bought, I bought here...http://www.modeltrainsoftware.com/
And yup those are those clamps you get at any home supply store.
I wanted a more industrial look with it.
-
Oh, my! Thanks for sharing, as I would have NEVER gotten the light-covers... despite having DOZENS of those caps in my stash. Is the tubing the "split wire loom" product on their site? Or maybe the "non-slit" type? Awesome sites, man - thanks for sharing!

It's the slit type.
Thanks for the compliments on the lights.
-
WOW! that really is looking amazing! I just hope that the LED's are cool enough not to melt the covers....
-
There low heat leds.
-
Wow that led´s light re a masterpiece already!
-
Hey Lux thanks a lot my friend.
-
hey Mandalore the skepsis, wanted to say thanks, I was able to fine the wire loom I needed in the correct "scale" by digging on ebay after seeing yours. I wanted some for my hallways (not really to hide wire in) and for the cables connecting the laser turrets

Thanks a lot.... ;D
I've been working on it a lot of late, but have to take pics of it and my tattooine dio.
-
There low heat leds.
So the ice doesn't melt right? :P
Seriously tho awesome stuff couldn't believe those were simple bottle caps, i like the look of the ribbed tubing. Gives me ideas that I'll eventually add to my own dio when i finally get around to it.
-
just an update, i was able to find 1/8th inch convoluted loom tubing from this guy
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380257009667&viewitem=
it's perfect for hoses running around for various equipment. I found the 1/4" was too big for most applications in this scale. If you have the Eweb gun with hose and box, this stuff is almost the same siza as that hose, just to give you an idea of the size
