[RANT]  >:(

alright, so you guys no how much crap i've been dealing with... I said a few days ago that I went to the public safety office to get a form to fill out for a handicap parking pass on campus...  they told me I couldn't get ANYTHING untill I fill out that form.... I take it back today after having to make a freaking doctor appointment to get it filled out yesterday and they tell me that I had to send it to another office FIRST...  Thankfully another lady working behind the counter overheard the DUMBA@# talking to me and (I quote) said "Don't make him take that over there! Sir we can fax that for you, have a seat and we'll see what we can do.  Did you get a temporary to use untill you get this one? Did you get any parking tickets since then?"
I replay very agrivated with "No I did not get a temporary because this guy here said there was no way to get any handicap pass, permenant or temporary untill I get this form filled out!... and I have gotten a ticket for not having an updated red tag because of this problem I hadn't had a chance to get over here to talk to you all."
she says "let me get you a temporary, unfourtunately I can't do anyhthing about the ticket since it was before you talked to us about this..."
I say "I didn't know to talk to you about this! but that's fine..."

so.... I've got a temp pass right now and they are getting me a longer term one set up...

[/RANT] ::)

Bueacracy is a crazy thing. I have never found nice people like the lady you found Spud. At least you get to park easy now!

well... i'm not doing much better than I was 3 days ago. Probably worse.  I went to mammoth cave with the kid's scout group this weekend and camped out on sat. night.  TONS of fun for them... lots of pain for me.  amazingly I slept the best nights sleep I've gotten in quite some time.  The air mattress was very comfortable... I honestly am probably going to air it up in the living room and sleep on it for the next few nights.

what killed me was the walking.  A 2 hour tour of mammoth cave was probably not the best thing for me.  I made it through it... barely.  I had the park people get a van and come get me from the entrance to the cave to go back to the parking lot! lol.    I've got that mri on tuesday so I hope I havn't made things worse this weekend... I'll find out then I guess either way.

Spud you walked all weekend with a possible bad disk? Are you related to me? Sounds like something I would do. I hope the MRI gives you some news one way or the other so you can make a plan. Glad to hear you can get some sleep.

I'm stubborn....  ::)  and the kids didn't want to go if I didn't go with them.  I can't say no to the children! lol

In all honesty it only is hurting while I am on it and while sitting/laying down I'm fine.  It's the getting up and repositioning myself that is the worst.  OF course things are alot eisier even still when you constantly are popping pain killers!

I'm realy anxious about the mri tomorrow...  Of course I won't know the results for another couple days.

well I'm P-O-ed...  primary care called me this morning at 8:00 and told me I'd have to rescedule my mri.  Apparently an air conditioning unit on the mri had gone out and needed to be repaired.  my rescedule is for tomorrow at 4:00 instead.

it was probably a good thing anyways since at around 10:00 (when my appointment was orriginally) the entire town of murray went dark.  I was in the middle of class and the power just flashed off.  darn professor didn't stop though, it didn't phase him one bit! he just said  "oh well, I can't show you the pictures I wanted to but we'll keep going" and lectured without power for a good 45 minutes!

I'm just glad I wasn't laying in an mri machine when the power went out! HA!

well I finally got the mri done.

I won't know the results for several days thouhg, probably not untill next week.

The mri lasted for almost 45 minutes and it was the SMALLEST mri machine I'd ever been in.  believe it or not I've been in several for various reasons....  and I don't EVER remember sweating as much as I did in this one too.  OF course they told me the other day that they had to have maintenance work done on an air conditioning unit on the thing so I wonder if it still wasn't acting up.

they had to lay me down on my back and strait with my legs propped up for the test...  laying there in that position for as long as I did killed me.  I've been on the couch for the last 2 days because of it (I went yesterday at 10.00 in the morning).  I still havn't realy recovered from being stuck like that.

I'm still woried about missing all the classes I have been missing...  Luckilly both classes I have right now kind of feed off of each other.

I'm taking remote sensing and geographic information sciences (gis).  Both subjects are basically the same thing... remote sensing deals more with the actual technical process of the retrieval of the data via sattelites and aerial photography while GIS deals with the analyzation of the data retrieved.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging - not sure on the how-details, but it's another way to scan the insides of the body to locate physical problems.

The nurse called me today with results of the MRI.  The way she put it was that there were some "abnormalities" with the mri and it appears that I have a herniated disk as well as some "narowing" around my nerves.

So... basically it's ruptured (how badly I still don't know) and the nerves are being pinched which is causing the pain.

I have another appointment on monday to find out what they want to do for me...  I fear that they will just refer me to a specialist and I'll have to start the whole process over again....  blah...

I bet you will have to see a neurologist first and get some cortizone shots and if that doesn't work perhaps a surgeon. You get those back shots that will help you. You won't be able to feel you butt the day you get em, but it sure helped my degenerative disks. Hopefully they can rush this so you can start. Maybe you want to check out some nuerologists on your own so if they want to refer you you can already be ready to go. MRI's, at least where I had mine done, are all electronic now so the neurologist can look at em on his or her computer and you shouldn't have to test again.

Man, I do feel sorry about you guys and your back problems. I am hoping that never happens to me.
