That looks like the Clone Wars Aurra Sing right? I seen her at the store the other day and seen her antenna on her head and it looks stupid. Glad to see you fixed that problem. None of the rest of the figure needed anything changed on it in my opinon, but that antenna has got to be changed when I get her.

There were no ball joints in the hips,  THAT sir, NEEDED changing ;)
Your right though, the cranial implant antenae was horrible looking.  Way too thick and made of the same rubbery plastic they are using for everything now.

as for the hip transplant I did something a little different on this one.  With the figure being from the cartoon line it's alot smaller than anything the joes have to offer, so when I tried to transplant the scarlett torso like I'd planned it looked rediculous.  I decided to use aurra's original lower half and use my exacto knife to cut her open and insert the T-bar from a joe crotch into hers.  I glued it back together and hollowed out enough of the sockets for scarlett's legs to fit in.  Originally I was going to use aurra's original legs from the knee down but they just didn't look right.  I figure'd the pilot scarlett legs looked the most like aurra's knee-high boots and used those.  I swapped the pilot scarlett feet out for the normal scarlett's heeled boots to add just a tiny bit of height to the figure and make it look more like the original.

I started painting her today and I'm going slow as there are alot of places for the paint to rub... I don't want this one getting all smudged up because I rushed it.

Looks good so far Spud!
As do I. It is our lot in life, Master. Shall we find something to kill to cheer us up?

a shot of the modified hips:

slapped on a little paint, but it still needs another coat...  but check out these shots until I get some more paint on her:

I'm kind of disapointed in her belt and holsters... they don't sit well on her hips unless she's standing.  But... oh well.

OK, it's official, I am stealing this! That is one awesome figure even after the first layer of paint, as I can see the potential on this for sure. Great call man. I am glad I bought 4 of those Scarlets, the legs are so sweet!

Looks cool. Just seems a wasted that they got her face so perfect and then that Square antenna. Have you ever thought about using some filler and covering up the screws in the Joe legs? Hemble has a tip on his page about that.

yeah.... I've thought about it.   But I'm not trying to build perfect replica's, I'm trying to perfect the toy.  so to me the screws showing is no big deal, I actually prefer it because it shows what has been changed.  AND it makes fixing/painting simpler.  For instance, I started painting these legs before puting it together, if I'd covered the screws I wouldn't be able to paint the areas where the legs attached.

yeah, that's just 1 thing that I have always hated about GI-Joes is the screws in the legs. I do like "replicas" but those screws are just too out in the open.  Good job on them though. I have always swapped out my Joes and interchanged body parts.
