Welcome to the Yards. We sure did like your first customs. I must say I like the pic of that camo speeder I saw too.
-
that twi-lek has WMD's ...Weapons of Mass Distraction....ahem
-
hey sweetheart, was up! lol...
you guys are going to love what she's got in store for yall. some of the stuff on the customs table right now is pretty awesome I'll admit that. Heck, her cammoflage on her bike is better than what I finished on my tank.... :P
-
Thanks . . . honey. I do like the custom I am working on now but I can't post it till the swoop contest. Spudafett has a really cool speeder I think all of you will love. It turned out a lot better than I expected. I am trying to figure out how to still get mine put together. HAHAHA
-
Welcome to the board! Can't wait to see more of your customs
-
my boys have all of the rayman raving rabids wii games and after playing them insisted that they NEEDED a rayman action figure with acompanying rabbid... After devin got some apoxi sculpt I decided that rayman and his rabid would be a perfect project to test my sculpting skills. I'd never done any sculpting with this stuff before and I'm proud of how they turned out.
here they are:
I had trouble sculpting the apoxie without having something to sculpt to so that rabbid has a piece of easter egg bubble gum for his guts on the inside... the rayman figure has clear plastic rods for arms and legs since he isn't supposed to have arms and legs. The clear plastic rods didn't last long though, the kids broke him in two days!
-
I love that game, too.
Solid custom figures, man, errr, woman, keep it up!
I gotta get my girl customizing, first the giant TV< now this, its looking like I need to rewire her or something.
-
I was teasing my wife yesterday about this... We'd gone into town after car parts for her car and I asked her when she's going to start customizing, since I do, our son does, our middle daughter is starting in on repaints and accessory-swaps, and the baby girl is starting to set up dioramas. Rebe made a suggestion on a speeder-bike I was fiddling about with for the contest, so the time was right to ask her. Her answer was, "I don't have the patience for it. No, I don't have the inclination. If I had the inclination, I'd *find* the patience. I'll just come up with great ideas and let y'all do the work to make them happen."
*sigh* Women.
;D
-
Wow, I would say the customizing art has taken hold. Great work.
-
Those are impressive. Nice work with the sculpy!
-
lol I'll have to admit that I've always been amazed at my gal's creativity when she puts her mind to it, she can pick up almost any medium of art and with a couple of test runs whip up something realy awesome... ok... I'm done brownnosing... ;)
but seriously, I've already got one guy on e-bay asking me to make another twi-lek figure... I told him I didn't make it and I'd have to get my wife to do another one since she won't give her first one up! He wound up sending us one of his own scarlett figures and the twilek figures to make it for him. Her speeder bike and rider are coming along great, I'm realy proud of her on the rider especially. The bike is turning out to be HUGE... it makes the bike I'm going to enter look like a tricicle...
-
Its not the size of your speeder. .. . wait, actually it is.
-
That is so true . . . and Spuds girl is so jealous that mine is bigger than hers. LOL
-
:P
-
heres a little something dawn's been working on I thought I'd share. Yall tell her to get on the ball and finish this thing up! lol
(http://fc03.deviantart.com/fs22/i/2009/239/2/f/camo_arf_and_bike_wip_by_SpudaFett.jpg)
-
Woah! That would go perfect with the target camo atrt from a year ago.
Looks nice, Dawn.
-
That looks really good...
-
Boy that does look sweet!
-
sweet customs they are awsome
-
That is so great. It must be really fun, both of you being into customizing . And of course, awesome Twi'lek.
-
it is when I can get her to sit down and actually do it with me! lol she says she has to be "in the mood"... women... oh well ::)
-
this is actually devin, posting this for my wife dawn. She is busy with work this week and hasn't had a chance to get the pics taken and get this on here yet. She told me to get them up here for her and if she has time she'll take more pics and edit whatever I put up. I'm going to try and remember all the stuff she told me to put up here about the bike and figure.
the figure is made from the new rise of cobra baroness fig. Dawn says that the rider is a psychic with telechenetic powers (hence the weird eyes). Basically that's the only info Dawn ever sat down and worked out for the figure's backstory that I can recall... I'll see if I cant get her to flesh it out a little more for you.
the bike is a conglomeration of scrap imperial speeder bike parts, pvc plumbing pieces, and various other greeblies Dawn scrounged up from the parts piles and other junk laying on the customs table! She went with the concept that bigger is always better with this one determined to make hers bigger and badder than my stripped down swoop bike custom. as you can see from the comparison shots, it's a WHOLE lot bigger.
One thing I'd like to point out to everyone is the amount of detail Dawn worked into the engines of this thing. The wrapped wire and other greeblies work incredibly well together. I'm still amazed at her ingenuity and part use. These parts literally were junk I had laying on the table that was ready to be thrown away!
I know that even if she doesn't win in this contest she is realy proud of her work and is convinced that hers is better than mine! I know that I am still uber impressed with the work she put in on this one and am still amazed at it.

AWESOME!!!
-
Good looking bike and speeder. You folks have some awesome customs set up in that garage.
-
Dawn's bike and rider are totally killer looking!
Top notch indeed.
-
Devin used Helix, so I set my Agent Helix aside for another project... then Dawn used the Baroness so I had to set my Baroness aside for another project and THEN make a flying dash into town for a third option!! But you'll just have to wait and see. She's sitting over there on the paint-bench, staring at me. Wanting to know why she's only *mostly* finished. Wanting to know when I'm going to get back to work on her swoop. Wanting to make her entrance...
-
The biker chick looks strangely familliar...how did you manage to get my wife to pose as a model for you? I keep telling her not to go out in her house cleaning clothes.
(Awesome, Awesome, Awesome)...
-
doc... we only laughed at that problem of yours, but we still want to see your takes on those figures!
hangerbay... I don't know what to say... ???
-
Amazing work to you both! I'm loving these female characters! They add so much to the Star Wars universe!
-
Well, the Baroness will likely end up being used as one of those "significant donor" fig's following one of your tutorials for a very special project. The Helix is going to be the partner of the one I'm working on for the ISY Speeder competition with the pair going into the Yakfinities competition.
Unless I change my mind.
-
Awesome job! I love the female, great work on the hair, and the outfit. The speeder is also great!! Good use of parts.
-
I am sorry I havn't been on here much guys. I got promoted to Associate Manager at my work so I have been busy with that. Then our boys are in scouts and pop corn sells started this week. Then Devin has a hurt back and is useless right now so I have been very busy at home with homework and trying to keep it clean. I do plan on doing more customs when things get back to normal.
On a brighter note I want to say thanks to everyone's responses. I worked hard on the speeder. I tried adding things to make it look good. I can definitely say she has the most comfortable speeder out there. LOL Anyways, I will be finishing up the camo rider and speeder hopefully this weekend and I will have Devin post the pics sometime Monday.
"Customizing Rocks" !!
-
Dawn(if you dont mind me calling you that) the speeders and riders look awesome especially the camo BARC speeder i'm utterly impressed
-
great job, guys, she looks killer.
I'd like to see more of the garage in the future.
-
Frie-Lek, your time has come....Youve been hangarbay'd...and as you were the competition winner, I've done 3 images for you.

awesome stuff you have going there FLS some sweet customs.. i so wanted to do a camo speeder, it looks so kick a$$ i will have to some up with some different now :D
Jules you are the man, love that middle shot its a "dont come messing with me boy!! i'll kick upside your head" kinda look
-
SpudaFett,
I deliberately gave the front of the speeder a bit of forward motion blur to give the impression of speed. If you'd like me to touch it up I'll do it no problem, just send me a PM.
p.s. Haven't you learned by now, never, I repeat NEVER try to wake up the wife when she's asleep unless it's an emergency. The fact that you tried to wake her up to talk about Star Wars stuff is potentially suicidal! You Fool, you could have ended your wife's strange passion for Star Wars in one swift stroke.
THINK MAN...THINK!
-
I figure that this twi-lek was genetically altered for the slave trade.... and is especially "hardy"....
idk... the easy answer would be she doesn't sit on the hot sun scorched rock... she kick's you butt and sits on you.
I think there'd be a queue of guys waiting to be sat on by her.....
My word..That woman gives the word Assasin a whole new meaning.
-
Spud........ vadsab...less please.....tone it down......it may be funny to some but we have to think of others here
-
Seriously? If your serious please pm me and do not call me out in front of all. I will respectfully stop posting. thank you.
-
Pm sent
-
Oh well now I'm totally curious, you should send me these pictures so I can... ahem... judge for myself ;D ;D Anything worthy of being Mod-powned is worthy of being seen!
-
thanks XV... everything and then some is, as always, posted to my deviant art galleries... thank you for your interest, please direct yourself there.
-
Love the hangarbay images, awesome stuff.
Good show on cleaning up the thread, man, We'd like this to be open for all, right?
Now I'm gonna have to customize so I can plead for hangerbay'ization, lol.

It is very cool to see that you share this interest with your husband. You are also very good at it. I love the swoop and that hot swoop rider. Great job and I hope to see more of these hot ladies from you.
