Looking real good, love your attention to detail! Man, I didn't know Rebelcon was on 17/5. I'm away for the weekend then, otherwise I'd definitely would've dropped by!

Oh yes, this looks amazing! Where are you getting the model or cast parts from for the details?

What a pity, but maybe we'll see us in 2015 -> REBEL CON V  ;)

Oh yes, this looks amazing! Where are you getting the model or cast parts from for the details?
Some of the detail parts are recasts from a real studio-scale kit which I bought some time ago: the cockpit, the small "yellow" parts under the engines and the part on top of the model (behind the R2-Unit)
All other details parts (the white ones) are made by hand.

Here are some new pictures with the finial cockpit illumination (more as usual here: http://maxx-replicas.jimdo.com/coming-soon-w-i-p/x-wing-fighter/)

more soon...

Rebel Con V has just been marked in my agenda  ;D Gelsenkirchen is only a 1.5 hour drive for me.

I really dig the cockpit lights. Wish I picked up those cheap christmas lights when I had the chance  :) I've got this A-Wing on hold, because I couldn't figure out what to do with the cockpit. I'll have to modify it so I can add lights like these as well.

Wow, what awesome light work. I think I would fall over passed out if Hasbro even gave us just a bit of this as far as cockpit lighting. Off to share.

That cockpit is amazing! The scale and brightness of the lights is just perfect. Thanks for the info, the yellow parts are exactly what I was asking about. A find molds cast is what they re from?

Inspiring.  I've got to learn how to work with fiber optics.  Can you recommend a good resource Maxx Replica?

By far the most detailed X-Wing Fighter I've ever seen.
I wish I would have your skills to upgrade the new Revell X-Wing.

WOW and here I thought that this build was amazing already and then you go and throw fiber optics in as well and just blow me away. Just stunning work .

Thanks so much for your feedbacks - but there is still a lot to do -> painting & weathering  ::)

A find molds cast is what they re from?
I've made the mold by myself -  the parts a recasted from a "Captain Cardboard Studio Scale X-Wing Model".
The "source" of Capt. Cardboards kit was an original ILM pyro X-Wing model  ;)

Here you can find some informations about fibreoptic illumination: http://www.starwarsmodels.com/techelec.html

Here's a little update with some picturss after I've primed the model:

more very soon... ;)
