What's next for the TCW line?
« on: November 17, 2009, 07:52:14 AM »
I figured it might be helpful to have a single thread where we can document upcoming toy releases/rumors for the Clone Wars line.

So far, we've got the "Epic Encounter" Ultimate Battlepack which is rumored to be a UK exclusive.

Also, I just noticed this in the most recent spate of Hasbro Q&A responses (courtesy of swcollector.com):

"A new cold weather Obi-Wan is coming shortly in The Clone Wars figure line."

Heck yeah!

Yesterday, I picked up a new packaged Rex, New packaged Cody, and A new packaged Ashoka Tano with Rotta the huttlet. I saw Count Dooku and Obi Wan plus about 20 CW R2-D2's there at walmart.

I'm looking forward to the next wave of CW figures including the Talz and Darth Sidious.

Ok, for everyone's enjoyment, I read through all the TCW related Hasbro Q&A questions and am posting the salient info here:

1) Hasbro once again denied any interest in producing the Twilight for the 3 3/4 " line. Someone at Jedi Insider posted an extremely well composed, presuasive question/argument for one but Hasbro just shut them down completely. I really think they have their heads up their collective asses on this one.

2) They confirmed R4-P17 is on tap for 2010, which we already knew from previous Q&A responses.

3) They said there will be approximately 32 new TCW figures from January to the Fall next year. Apparently OOM-224, Wat Tambor, Nute Gunray, Gunship Pilot Hawk will not be among them. :( (I really want an animated Wat!)

Someone from YakFace posted an awesome question about whether we will see the Red Deco Y-Wing next year, but I can't read the reponse because their site is restricted to me here at work. (Why?) Will have to read that one later tonight...

Found this pic of the design for the Jedi Ambassador Shuttle as it will be shown in season 2 of the Clone Wars in this month's issue of Star WArs insider.  Is this shuttle too big of a toy for hasbro to consider making. My guess would be yes.

I think Hasblow won't make it because of the fact of it being big.
