My Star Destroyer (Randy Cooper Kit)
« on: March 07, 2014, 05:01:30 AM »
Here are some pictures of my Star Destroyer.
It took me 6 month to complete that monster including the fiberglass lighting.
For detailed work in progress pictures, check this link:
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.512986282088373.1073741830.309015015818835&type=3

The display table was made of a 70s stainless steel tulip with a screwed on 2cm MDF board and a 3cm granite plate on top.
The control panel was also made of MDF with a LCD screen and 2 keyswitches.
First keyswitch powers the lighting of the SD, second one the LCD screen and the Media Player

Wow, what a way to introduce yourself! This is just jaw dropping, utterly fantastic!

First off hello and welcome to the Yards. Second, thank you for sharing this work with us. I will definitely be sharing this on our other pages. I can't wait to see the other posts you have put up.

We have had some bad luck here in the forums a few years ago with image shack actually having attached viruses and spam to folks' images so we don't use em here. Not sure what is going on there, but looks like your images are ok now. This SD is amazing. Does that display on the base play video or light up schematics? I need to search your youtube channel to see if I can find that media player playing!

Imageshack is turning into a pay site soon, so you might want to move your pics to another hosting site.

Thanks guys!
The kits are great, but like Randy does, i would only recommend them to people with advanced modelling skills.
His molds become old and most of the parts are heavily warped
