Ironpanda proudly presents.
Hasbro 6 inch Black Series Sandtrooper, I found the headsculpt in the parts bin. The joints and the creases are modified and an overall paintjob was given.
-
Ok sandtroopers and sculpting over the joints you have just made my day and these are tears of joy :'( .
This is just stunning work indeed everything from the pose to the paints apps to the realistic base well done indeed mate and I for one can't wait to see more of your work.
Ron
-
You sir are a genius! Jaw dropping awesome.
Welcome to ISY and I can't wait to see more. I am sharing this on our front pages.
-
Six inch sweetness!
Gentlemen, I can assure you that this figure looks even more impressive hands-on.
Awesome as can be.
-
Thank you all for the kind words!
here is one of my 3 3/4inch customs
-
Wow, I enjoy all things Hoth and this is very impressive. The detail is just over the top. Off to share.
-
WOW! Most impressive work! Love that you have sculpted over the joints and made a maquette. The paint work is just stunning, such realism in the face, I am in awe. Thanks for sharing.
-
That is amazing! In many ways, your technique looks similar to Hemble's work, especially smoothing out the joints and sculpting over to hide them. How much of a wash---if any---do you apply to your figures? I'd think the detailing would be next to impossible without it, but seeing your work, I'm beginning to think you could achieve it without using them at all. Really, terrific work all-around...
-
Wow... So good. I was thinking "HembleCreations" as well. This is the stuff that makes me want to keep customizing. I had no idea this kinda thing was even going on until a few months ago...so amazed by the talent here.
-
Another amazing custom mate the tones in your paint apps are perfect and the pose is very life like and the dio is so realistic it just blends in so well together as it was meant to be that way.
With the technics you do, did or do you do military model figures by any chance.
Ron
-
Amazing work !! I too agree your paint apps are incredible ! hope to see more
-
I can't say anything that hasn't been said already. That's some beautiful detailing.
-
Well,Thanks to all of you,i´m very glad you like my way of painting
to answer your questions:
No,i generally don´t use washes on my Figures,i paint everything in the so-called "Overhead-lighting Method" with Acrylics and any highlights or shadows are painted.i use washes only on rifles, backpacks, etc.i also use the Airbrush extensively
@hemble:yes i did Military dios and figures,i still do but not as much as i used to.i do build planes, mostly "Top Gun" Aggressors
i ´m sorry that it took so long to answer your questions...
-
here is another one: again,i sculpted over the joints and made new straps from Duro"Green Stuff".
i repainted it using acrylics from Revell and Vallejo
-
This is yet another stunning looking figure mate.
Ron
-
Off to the front page. Man, I think you might like Hoth as much as me!
-
Thanks for the honor of showing my work on the frontpage again.Right,i like Hoth-stuff very much!!!
-
Time for some larger figures...these two are Kotobukiya Stormtrooper 2pack.i made an new belt from plastic strip and fabric tape, added new fittings for the holsters and drilled out the scopes.New glass was added using Humbrol´s Clearfix.the base is detailed using photoetched leaves.both figures were repainted with an airbrush
-
Groundwork close-up.every single leaf was brushpainted with different greens, and yellows, over an airbrushed olive-green basecoat, applied with an airbrush
-
This is übercool.
Absolute madness.
-
Loving your dios, not just the figures but the bases as well are detailed perfectly.
Ron
-
That dio base looks alive! Uber cool.
Off to share.
-
Individual leaves! I see maples and ferns, not to mention the brown, dead stuff on the ground. Wow, that must have been tedious work, but the result is amazing.
What exactly did you do with the visors? Sorry, I didnt follow.
-
Sorry,i just got back.i added glass to the E-11s scopes,is that what you mean? i didn´t really do anything to the helmets visors, just added clear gloss color
-
It´s done,i finished painting commander kurgan´s Bo-Katan custom.i was very pleased with what he came up with, that i just needed to paint it.it may look a bit "overdramatic" with the metallic blue and red colors on the armor, but i always wanted to do one of these...i made a small base from plastic scrap and bits from the partsbox and there she is
Thanks again volker,absolutely stunning work,buddy!!!
-
She looks great. Off to share.
-
Outstanding work.
Ron
-
Awesome paintjob, buddy!
I really enjoyed our first co-operation in a custom action figure.
-
And it won´t be our last, buddy!!!!that´s for sure!!! what about 3 3/4inch Boil and Waxer for example?
thanks again to all of you
-
You guys might want to look at our facebook page. There is a guy on there who doesn't think you Bo Katan is three and three quarter inch the detail is so good.
-
Saw it an left a comment since Andy isn't on FB yet.
-
Very nice...I love the detailing!
-
Just finished my 6inch Stormtrooper from the Black Series.I used the BS-Sandtroopers Helmet as i think it looks better and is more correctly shaped for an ANH-Trooper.i also made an new Belt and sculpted an new holster.again,i glued and sculpted over the joints.Painting was done with Tamiya Acrylics for the Armor and Revell Aqua for the undersuit an details
-
Close up.
-
Awesome.
That's all I can say.
-
More great updates, amazing detailing once again!
-
Fantastic.
-
Stormtrooper to the front page. Looks fantastic.
-
Thanks guys and thanks Tamer for frontpaging my work again
-
thats some amazing work ! Well done
-
I love that Stormtrooper.
You really enhanced it significantly with the paint scheme - it brings out the details - it looks amazing.

i have just finished a new 3 3/4 inch custom. It's based on the Black Series Biker Scout, with a new head kindly provided by my buddy Volker aka Commander Kurgan.i had to change the hairsculpt to get what i want but i turned out fine.Again i sculpted over the joints and painted with acrylic colors. The base is the Dagobah-base that came with an R2 D2 figure,i just added new groundwork and used lasercut paper ferns from the Railwaymodeller's section(from "Noch") and paper Oakleafs from czech manufacture "Plusmodel".i glued every single leaf one piece at a time to make sure it looks convincing and not overloaded with Details...
-
Details and WIP...
-
Wow, that base is fantastic as is the figure. Off to share.
-
Another awesome looking figure mate, keep up the amazing work.
Ron
-
Yeah, baby!
After hunting down the Scout figure, we chose an Agent Helix head for the wig and a Pirate girl head for the face so the babe would look somewhat like what the Iron Panda had in mind.
This is an awesome figure!
-
thanks again buddy!!! certainly couldn't have done it without you...i see you on sunday
-
Do or do not. There is no try...
-
Huh, I am not that active in the fandom anymore but hey, your work is a wonderful example which could make me rethink my decission to quit doing fan art based on custom action figures maybe now in a more graphic art style... your Sandy also brings back cool memories for I did one as cover for the official German fan club ages ago :) http://fav.me/d3gbs76 (http://fav.me/d3gbs76)
keep it up!
-
WOW
The figure and especially the base are phenomenal.
Keep it up.
-
WE like it , we love it ,we want more of it! make it hurt Ironpanda make it hurt ! Howah!
-
Your attention to detail on this custom is just amazing (and clearly painstaking). Inspiring work.
-
here are some WIP-pics of the latest 3 3/4inch custom i want to share with you all,as you can see, more sculpting going on than usual...
-
And that's her after painting.I wanted to show a Trainig-Simulation Situation maybe at a big Imperial Military Complex, and thats why i choose the Screen-box as a Base.Maybe its a little to "Arty" but i like it the way it turned out,i hope you do too...
-
Beautiful.
I would like to try something like that, just not sure if I want to lose the articulation, but it's so awesome.....
-
Nice!
-
This is more than just awesome.
Best Babe of the Empire you've done so far.
-
Wow, I like it too. Off to share all over the place. Beautiful work Iron Panda.
-
Damn impressive work indeed the sculpting on the clothing is very impressive and the paint apps really bring it to life 10/10.
Ron
-
Oh WOW, she is wonderful!! Again greati idea and perfect paintjob - and of course another inspiring beauty! ;-)
-
Well, thanks to all of you,and thanks Tamer for frontpaging my work again!!!
it's been quite a while since i sculpted last time(i think my last of the post apocalyptic girls was in 2012...)but i managed it...
-
Man, you're blowing us away every time.
Still, the photos don't do the real figures justice. They look much better when you have them in hand.
-
Beeing a Fan of "The Walking Dead" i had to repaint this one: Mc Farlanes Daryl Dixon,of course...;-)
i again sculpted over the joints and after brushpainting him with Revell acrylics i scratched a small Base
-
Awesome. I reallllly low how these come out.
-
great job as always, Andy!
-
Looks great. Off to share.
-
When I first saw this figure, I thought it was a cast statue, but it isn't.
Love your work, buddy!
-
Frontpaged again! thanks!!!
-
Another impressive piece indeed.
Ron
-
Nothing special this time, but i want to share it with you anyway.I bought this figure at the UotF Con in Herne last Weekend(you can actually see it behind my display in the thread) and having no Idea what figure it is,well besides beeing padme of course(Stefan told me it is a Hasbro Star Wars Unleashed!?)i loved the figure for its details and sculpting.so i didn't do anything drastical to the figure, just added a new chain and sculpted new groundwork.the skin-parts this time are "Airbrush only" with the rest of the figure being brush painted, again with acrylics only.the dust was done using artists pigments(yellow ochre and red oxide in a 50-50% ratio)
so it's just a fast "paintjob only"-figure squeezed in between to bigger projects, but i like the finished result,i hope you do too
-
I would say you gave it a major fixer upper. Nice, off to share.
-
stunning paintjob on a nice figure!!
-
The figure itself was cool to begin with, but your paintjob is off the hook.
-
Another home run mate.
Ron
-
beeing inspired by the mando Artwork here on this board i started an new 6inch custom yesterday.Using the 6inch BS Boba combined with some Stormtrooper Armor from surplus kotobukiya stormies i still have some work to do but i decided to share some WIP Pic with you.hopefully i can complete the "Mukluk"Boots today and start the new Belt.the boots ,hairs, chestplate and the joints were sculpted using pure Aves A-poxie,the details on the boots and the "Poncho" are am 50-50 mixture of A-poxie and green-stuff
-
YES YES YES!!! Lover her already :) And you know what I want you to ask for ;-)
-
Wow! Cool! I like it very much!
-
YES YES YES!!! Lover her already :) And you know what I want you to ask for ;-)
thanks buddy, and of course you can :-) just give me a few more days to have her finished
-
thanks again and no hurry, please. I am deeply involved in other projects right now but I enjoy thinking about upcoming happy things :)
-
Outstanding work already and can't wait for the final piece.
Ron
-
Wow, this looks fantastic. And its not done yet. Off to share.
-
Good Gravy, I've always been wondering if the 6" Boba would work as a base for a Mandalorian girl.
Seems it does.
You never cease to amaze me!
-
Oh,thanks guys for all your kind words.I just finished sculpting on her and got started with the paintjob.I liked the "greeblie-look" on Bobas Original costume and wanted to duplicate it on the belt ,also I wanted an well worn Look on the Armor itself.I have to finish teh painting still,i havent done anything to the boots or the belt yet,so i still have some work to do,not to think of a proper Base
-
Wow, she is looking fantastic. Off to share your latest update.
-
Thanks a lot,Tamer
i 've mostly finished the painting stage and started work on the base...
-
Your painting skills are out of this world.
-
Absolute stunning! Awesome detail!
-
Thank you,Guys that's far too kind... :)
-
Holy Smokes...this is beyond awesome.
-
I have to say, that paint job is SUPER! love the idea and creation of all the details, scheme, accessories etc ..but that paint just tops it all.
-
This is turning into an epic creation. Bravo and back to the front page.
-
Thanks guys, and thanks Tamer, but i think with so many talented people on this board it's way too kind to call this work epic...But thanks a lot and now it 's time to present the finished figure:
i have decided to go for a cold and harsh environment with rocks and dead wood lying around.all the Armor was painted with an airbrush using masking fluid applied with a cut up sponge.i painted some extrem highlights on certain scratched .areas to make some scratches appear deeper and more pronounced. The rocks were carved from Styrofoam, the snow is made from microballoons mixed with white glue
-
Don't tell my wife, but I think I'm in love.
This Mando girl is right up my alley.

-
Damn, I've got myself a DATE!
-
I guess we are gonna have to agree to disagree on the epic thing. I think she is fantastic. Off to share her final update.
-
Your skills in painting are purely stunning mate and your bases look so real and then you bring the two together to create the most realistic scene's awesome work indeed.
Ron

Wel,i don't know what to say but Thanks a lot.but to be honest i still think her pose is too static...maybe!?
( Commander Kurgan keeps teasing me because all my figures seem to have the "Captain Morgan" pose,so i had to do a little of a more proud, heroic pose here ;D 8) ;))

-
Micro balloons?
Man, that is a piece of art! Her paint is just exquisite and that dio is damned realistic looking.
I'm thinking she deserves a glass case.
-
fantaaaasticc! Really excellent paint job and color scheme, extremly inspiring!!!
-
SO MANY incredible pieces! wow :)
Must look so brilliant upon your shelves.
-
time to go back to miniatures!
i have recently bought a second sideshow 12 inch Commander Bly,and now i decided to make my Own 327th Star Corps Soldier.I could have done it the easy way,and just change the Helmet and repaint it,but i wanted a"mirrored" Version.I took the entire pauldron apart(carefuly),re-aranged the Magazine-belt.i had to sculpt a new upper arm Armorpiece for the left Arm and make new Straps on the right arm but nothing too difficult.the only thing that was a little challenging was the Pauldron because i had to fill the black stripe, now on the back and used a modellingsaw to cut a new one on the front.Painting was done to match the other CT's in my collection
-
some more close ups
-
Wow! That is really amazing attention to detail.
-
i also repainted the headsculpt.on the left is the untouched original Commander bly headsculpt.the right one is my repaint.all is done with Acrylics and paintbrush,no airbrush this time...
-
Wow, all that attention to detail really makes this one shine. off to share.
-
Mate again stunning work, your style of painting is unique and brillant.
Ron
-
Awesome.
Nothing short of awesome.
