Title: Darth Creatine's Customs
Post by: Darth Creatine on April 05, 2010, 06:33:37 PM
Hello Everyone,

My name is Darth Creatine (Jon). Ares30 told me about this site over on Yakface when I was looking for a few Clone Trooper Casted parts. So I was sent here to look at Clonehead's List and decided to see if I was welcomed and possibly find a home to post my customs.

I dont really post anywhere much no more cause I quit customizing and so have most of my friends. I am now back and wanting to post somewhere so I figured start fresh here. So hello me.

First I have a "few" Clones on my WIP workbench and a Diorama I am painting to take Pics of my customs in front of. I thought I would post a few customs I did a little while back just to get my thread up and going. And to show everyone my work (Be it bad/great or decent, I love the criticism and advice)

Anyways here is my customs:

Darth Creatine: (Personal Figure of me if I was a Sith Lord, Made right before TOR Trailer. Resemblance is close I know)

Darth Bane: Original figure was made without Bane from Hasbro's release. When he came out his head was better so I used it. Not bad Orb's for a first time sculpter I thought.

My version of Captain Rex: (At or near Order 66, if he was alive still??)

Thats all I can find pics of to post right now so I will post these 7-8 I am working on when they are completed. Can we post ONLY Star Wars here or Marvel and such also. Or is there other forums for that?

Thanks for the Welcome's and PLEASE if something is wrong or could be better some how with my customs tell me. Criticism and advice IS welcomed. If you dont like my wash's per-se. Please tell me and if possible show me a site on how to improve it through a tutorial. I am not "The Greatest" so I love help. But I try my best.

You definitley are welcome here! I find it hard to beleive that your a first time scultor looking at that darth bane! Are you lying to us?!?! ;)

You definitley are welcome here! I find it hard to beleive that your a first time scultor looking at that darth bane! Are you lying to us?!?! ;)

Deff not here is some WIP's to show. I did not even use a Bane figure (Until the head came out) and I used a Windu head and Imperial knight outfit and Maul legs/skirting. First ever sculpt and use of Dremel.

Here are those pics:

Then I switched the head for Bane's once it came out cause I liked its look. I did not even know (Not much better now) how to use wash's perfectly so I painted each orb full on and no shadowing so I had to do it slowly and add black and color VERY slowly.

Darth Creatine

PS: More work went into the orbs with the dremel and also the shoulderpads came off and such but I took no more pics until completed sorry. In the first pic above with the Aves Apoxie ball on the figure case is the Orbs before I made it lol.

WoW....

I dont really know what to say to be honest. I am kinda silent and reserved now-a-days. I have had a rough road since my military discharge and lost my best friends to a drug problem (I was the one addicted, NOT them). I am 100% over it and clean now and kinda opening back up.

I mention this cause I am VERY hard on myself as of late and to get such good vibes and remarks makes me feel good. I really am not that good. I had alot of help when I first started customizing by a "Very" good friend of mine "Joe". I dont know if he wants his Customizing name revealed as I am not sure he does customs no more. I do know me and him no longer talk much. He talked me into sculpting Bane. He gave me the drive to do it cause I failed a few times and he pushed me to do it. So I give him all the credit. Actually the Darth Creatine and Bane figure I made was sent to him for free. He deserved them. He was my best friend and helped me ALOT...

Long story short. I never made a video cause I have nothing to teach people. I am still learning myself. I would love to one day but as of yet I dont think I am good enough to teach others. I might later. My wash's are ok on Bane but on others like battle damage and weathering mine aren't so good.

I hope to change that this time around.

Thanks again guys (Clonemedic96, TheCloneCommander and DroidDestroyer. Much Respect, Much respect and thanks from you all.

Thanks Wraithnine,

Coming from you it is an honor for sure. I was here originally looking to contact Clonehead for some casts and saw your 96 pages of customs and looked through them for hours and hours and then found the YouTube channel and watched alot of them for hours more.

You are VERY good. I would like to speak with you one day while you are customizing via webcam or somehow. I would like to do a few customs with you. It would be a great learning experience for me. I must say I love your Special Black Clone named "Cooler" he rocks. I tried to find a pic of him alone and couldn't.

Thanks Mate glad you like my customs. Anywho thanks again. Hope to hear from you soon. Really would like to chat with you sometime. I KNOW I can learn alot from you. Let me know what you think.

Thanks Bro,

I am HONORED you think my Custom Figs are Wicked!! I really mean that!

I saw that Rex on google images a while agoe and I loved it!!!!!!!! Welcome to the Yards!

Captain,

I have heard that a few times now. I have made 3 total so far the other 2 from people who saw it and wanted one for there Order 66 sets. Thanks for the boost and I am glad you like my customs. I am glad you Loved it. I had fun making Rex. I love him....

Looks great to me Jon. On the front page. Bring on some more!

Tamer,

Thanks for the FP bro. I logged on today to check out the customs and check my thread and saw it and I was blown away. I am truly in AWE. I think I have found a new custom home. I really feel welcome and good being here. Thanks guys for the warm welcome and I hope to put out some more Figs.

Thanks again

You certainly are hard on yourself!  Your customs are very good, and I speak for ALL of the Shipyards when I say, we want to see more!  Perhaps joining in on some of our custom contests will help your creative juices flow again!

Phatty,

I use to not care what things loked like and also what people thought about me. I was truly a punk. For once in my life I am clean/sober and life is different and alot better. One thing is I care what others think and I try really hard to be the best I can. I love doing toys and have been re-introduced into painting. Thanks for your kind words and I plan on entering a contest soon. I have a few ideas in mind.

Welcome to the yards Jon
your sith customs are top-notch

great job

Thanks Mate,

I am glad to be here. I feel welcomed and after reading the above quotes. I got a sudden rush of Custom Syndrome. Ideas flooded my head so fast I had to write most down and draw up a few quick master prints with the airbrush to not forget the color schemes. It was a sudden rush and it was kinda cool.

Great job mate. Welcome to the yards.

cool job men, welcome to the yards! :)

Thank you very much CodyCommander and CaptainLux.

It is "Greatly" Appreciatted.

I want to also add you guys/gals made me feel at home and I really am enjoying it here.

I was wondering if I can ask  you all a question. If I post my tools/paints/resin/brushes/items used for customs. Will anyone take a look at them and tell me if my equiptment is ok. And also mention anything I dont have that I need.

For instance say:

Hey Creatine go get you some Tamiya paint for gold and use Model Master for Primary etc... Also rubber bands work great for belts, bracelets and leg holsters etc...

I like hearing other people tricks/idea's and am still kinda new to this so any pointing in the right direction would be great.

We actually have a whole section in the Imperial Creative Engineering (http://www.imperialshipyards.net/SMF/index.php?board=35.0) section called Resources and References which will have all kinds of tips and tricks!  However, feel free to start a thread in that section and post what you use.  You may teach us something!

ain't that the truth, you can never have to much knowledge,  for instance rubber bands for belts and straps unless some one said that they use them i would think twice before doing it,
but now that i know some maybe doing it, i would really give it a go i was always worried that they would break up and go brittle, i guess time will tell, lol

Thanks LukeSprywalker (Seen you around Yakface), Phatty and TheCloneCommander thanks again guys.

Here is a Custom I did LONG LONG ago of a Made up Bounty Hunter that matched Darth Creatine's Armor. I thought it was cool. I did however spray it with Gloss instead of Matte but oh well.

Here is a Bounty Hunter I made from a GI Joe/Jango Mix and Bash. He is pretty cool. I liked the armor change up I gave him. Still not my favorite custom but he was alot of fun to me cause I changed the "Norm" of what Mando's looked like back at the time I made him.

Darth Creatine

PS: The Rubber Bands as mentioned above will crack if you put glue on all the rubber band. If you however do use the rubber band and cut it at an angle and glue it at the seem (Only). It will turn the seem hard a little so sand the seem a tad. Paint and done. Makes GREAT gun holster straps and belts and harness's. Thats how most people make Deadpool straps.  Also buttons work for belt buckles. Vinyl Shower Curtain for cloaks etc... And the curtain lasts forever doing figures cause it is SO BIG.

Glad I could finally teach someone something, Feels nice to help sometimes. I got alot of tricks up my sleeve. Rubber Bracelets for air hoses all kinds of stuff I have seen over the year(s).

Nice mandos!   bbfet

Thanks Mando Commando,

I appreciatte it. Makes me feel good knowing people care about my customs. I have 3 more in the works now.

I had court today for Social Security due to my disability's from Active Duty, I think it went well and I might get it. Would help out tremendously financially.

So I dont get my customs done as "Fast" as I use to because of my Disability's of major depression disorder, stress, vertigo, panic/anxiety attacks, stomach disorder, social disorder, carpel Tunnel (Both wrists need surgery) etc... I am however gonna have these ones done within the next day or so. I know I have alot of problems that is why since I got hurt it is important for me to find people like you guys who support me in anything. My wife in real life and you guys here in my custom world. So thanks!!!

So anyways I hope to get them posted soon. (Spoiler, Sneak Peak Below!!!!)

This one will be a Darth Bane. He is Approx. 7-8" tall complete custom from a Jakks Pacific Figure. He is the Middle Aged Bane. Black tattoo's around the Eyes. W/Orbalisks. This figure was from a visual I got from Bane's 2nd book. He was about to loose his orbs. His eyeball's were yellow and orange-ish/red like fire and his chest was scorched black from Horrible Sith Lightning that was accidently cast upon himself, due to being wrapped in a shield". I hope you all like it.

Here is a WIP of him. He is primed here and ready to be painted. I hope you guys like it.

Darth Bane (From Rule of Two "I Believe"). I know his orbalisk for me are VERY hard to create in this scale (Can't hide the little imperfections. So PLEASE take that into consideration. I try my best. I am VERY hard on myself cause I use to fail alot and so if it aint perfect to me, it is hard to show it until it is. But none the less here it is primed.

My date on this new camera is off so I appologize. I have my wife looking for a manual online to change it to current time and date.

Currently his orbs are done, sculpted and painted and his skin is painted also. Need to do his eyeballs and the black around his eyes and finish his all cloth cape.

Thanks for all the love guys.

Darth Creatine; sorry for the late welcome. Your work is impressive and I really like that last mando that you showed us. Thanks for joining us here  and enjoy yourself.

Glad you came around to the Noob thread. You like my customs and I like your Customs and especially your Star Wars casts. I plan once I get some money together getting some from you. I especially need some of those Scorch "Nubbed" helms for my Republic Commando sets. I am gonna make a team of 4 and a team of 6. Care to sell 10 helmets at once?

Thanks again for the kind words and support. I thank you ALL very much for them. Hope to show more of my work soon.

Darth Creatine (Jon)

PS: I am working on a Diorama to take pictures of my figures in front of. So my figures realese's have been slowed.

I also came up with a "GREAT" idea for a new set of customs. I will be unleashing them soon.

They are good ideas in my opinion. I want to release 5-6 at once so I can get the idea out there to everyone after I do a few. If I do only one and post it will be obvious so I have to do a bunch at one. **Hint** It is NOT Commando's or Republic Delta's or ANY thing Star Wars that has EVER been done before or even thought of to my knowledge.

Stay Tuned for the Star Wars Unleashed Customs by Creatine!!!!!!

Thanks again TheCloneCommander. Very Obliged. Nice set of Clones you had on your table in your pic....900+....Counting opened and unopened...Geesh!

Hello Everyone,

Sorry for the LONG wait. I hope it was worth it for you all.

I KNOW it was not for me. These to me are no where near my best. It is my Second Attempt at working in a bigger scale for a Star Wars figure.

Needless to say here he is the Man of the Hour.

Darth Bane:
Long Black Cape, Black around Eyes and Orbalisks Added for your viewing pleasure.

One more shot without the cloak. This was before I touched up the black on his chest a little to "Blend" the skin and black together. Hope you like it.

Got some more in the works. Stay tuned for the Clone Trooper Update and the "Secret" Star Wars I have in the works.

I am calling them Creatine's Unleashed Star Wars.

Darth Creatine (Jon)

PS: I also wanted to add the picture(s) I got from google all 3 showed a smaller black triangle on both upper and lower left eye they were "Not" exact same size so thats what I did. Hope you all get what I mean. I like to be as close to exact as I can on figures that are EU and not produced often. (Besides the one Bane in the Battle Pack with Maul and Nihilius).

I am glad you like it. I had my doubts about posting it since I am not 100% happy with the way it turned out. But if you guys and gals like it then that is ALL that matters to me.

If I can learn one thing a day or teach someone out there at least one thing a day I am stoked. Also for me to make a custom regardless if it is a 5 minute re-paint a 2 hour modified customs or a 72 hour complete overhaul of a team/legion or army of figures, For one person to say they like or love it makes it all worth it to me.

Sith customs a bit rare here on the Shipyards and Bane is one of my favorites beside Nihilus.

Thanks Bro. I love your Avatar Pic of Bane. I have not heard your name here in the forums as of yet. I am going to check out your threads as we speak. I really enjoy commenting back in EVERY person who comments on mine. So expect that soon from me. Thanks again for the Praise Mate!

cool custom!

CaptainLux,

Thanks again for the Love Lux. You always have good things to say. Thanks Mate!

very cool bane, and i cant wait for the new figs

CloneMedic,

I want to thank you also. You have posted on all my figs and always have great encouragement. So thanks again Bro. I am gonna get started on some of those "New Figs" tonight. I am gonna give out another *Hint* especially for you. I will be making some AWESOME Clones. I got an idea thats gonna blow everyone's mind.

*Spoiler* It will be a crossover of Star Wars. The great Clone Army is gonna meet some more "Down To Earth" Heroes. Lets just call it a crossover of sorts!

I really like that Bane!!! Great job!

CaptainMountie,

You name is new to me also. Expect me visiting your thread in the near future also. Thanks for the great words and you WILL see more from me.

he looks great DC!! awesome job buddy! thanks for the comment about the clones i have.... i think im up to about 1300 now lol and still on the hunt.. i can never have too many clones.. i now it a sickness but it beats p!$$ing it on a wall like i use to do in my wild days  ;)

TheCloneCommander,

I follow you as much as anyone else. Wraithnine, Clonehead, Sith, Tamer you guys I check on numerous times a day. I am you guys #1 fan.

I also wanted to ask. I know this is kinda personal but what did you mean P!$$ing it on the wall?

I ask cause I had a pretty bad drug problem but during it I was collecting and painting Customs and believe it or not. I did better at painting. Now I am re-learning. but oh well.

Also where can I get some clones from? I need like 100 or more and dont wanna pay $7.99 each. I need about 40 Droid Baits and then a few of Bacara, Scorch and the Delta's, Commander's, visored ones and Arf's and any others I have written down with "Different" Helmets. You know the ones. There is like 30 helmet variations and with the customs I am about to make. I need all the different ones I can get....

Great job on Darth Bane. That is really a great custom DC.
No problem mate you did really a great job.
Sith customs a bit rare here on the Shipyards and Bane is one of my favorites beside Nihilus.
I hope we'll see a lot more of your great Sith customs.

FialaFernbrugg,

Bro you will see more of my Sith Customs. I do the Clones alot like everyone else. I just dont post mine very much. I like to post things that aren't flooding the forums. I mean like Bane and such cause not many people do them. I will start now that I am here at the Yards. Posting alot more of my Clone Army and Such though.

Needless to say I have done about 6 Sith Lords so far. Bane, Revan, Nihilius, Creatine, Bane again (7"), Vader (Battle Damaged) and then Vader again in white. Those I didn't post but I did them for commissions.

Anywho long story short. Those Sith were fun and I will be doing more. Especially now that I am a proud member of the Yards. (Thanks again everyone!)

Hope you all like my Customs to come. Also I hope to hear more great things from you guys. I really love it here on the Yards and I like hearing people that enjoy my work. I have my doubts sometimes and it is great to hear good things from such an awesome group of Star Wars Fans **(People/Nerds/Customizer's etc...)** like myself. And the level of skill here in Customs is bar none better no where else. I am proud to say I think I contribute to raising that bar.

Thanks everyone and I love you guys comments and fire you have for boosting people's confidence and self-esteem. Lord knows I need it as do others I am sure!

My contact info is below. We dont have to use Webcam if you want we can PM through one of the messenger's.
I just prefer webcam so I dont have to type and read over and over and we can see what the other does as far as painting and weathering and airbrushing etc..

PS: Went to Wal-Mart (Wall World I always call it, incase you hear me say Wally World you know what I am talking about)

Amyways was at Wally World and went to the Toy Section. Not much to look at. Found a Iron Man 2 concept figure of WarMachine and it rocked. I had to get it. 3 3/4".

I went to the Star Wars section and looked through them ALL one by one. Found 20 Arctic Anakin's and Obi's....Still ZERO Arctic Rex's...Did find one Commando Droid. But it was broken. (Scalpers had opened it and stole his head and weps...) Also was looking for some more Clones..

I saw Echo (7)
Comic Pack with Black Scout and His Black Commander with Red "X" Harness. Looked cool almost got it but wasn't worth $15 for fodder.

Still ZERO Srctic Rex's and ZERO ARF Troopers. I am looking for some Misc Clone and Storm Trooper Helmets to Cast.

I bought some cast and resin stuff from Alumilite and another brand (Name escapes me).

I am looking for ANY of these. If you have an extra one please let me know. I need it for a cast.

Clone or Style of Helmets needed:

Delta/Commando
Bacara Style
Droid Bait
Clone Commander (Rex/Cody
Airbrone
Visor'd (Bly)
Arctic Rex or Mag type
Bijer Scout
ARF
ARC
Shadow Scout

Any there I forgot? I basically want to make a cast of each Clone sHelmet so I have them all. I have the CW Rex one and plenty of StormTrooper ones and a Galactic Marine and Snow Yrooper. The rest I need.

Clone Head if you have these above helmets already made, can't I use your casted helms to make my own molds?

If so put me a package together of ALL the various helmets you got and let me know how much it will be.

Postal Code 32526. Give me a price and we can go from there. I need them ONLY to make my own molds. (*I wont be selling molds you have that on lockdown, I just want to make my own. So no business removed from you!)

Hey Shipyarders,

I got another Mando almost done. This one is for 501st Appo.

Really hope he likes it and I hope you all like it also.

Me anbd him spoke about the Body and the Head and he chose the colors and also wanted a head that matched the colors so thats why I used the head I did.

Hope you all enjoy the custom I made and also the future customs I have in the works. Thanks for the welcome guys and also all the help you have given me as far as self-esteem and boosting my creativity. So much obliged mates!

Kreeper2 and his "Bad Ass" Praise I love it... Thanks Mate!

Also Appo,

The figure is about 75% compelte. I have to paint up the (Snake Eyes) Jacket/Coat still. Gonna make it black with some Grey and White Dry Brushing to give it a rustic faded look. Will be great once I am done. I am also going to Dry Brush on the figure some also. That is just all the base coats done.

Still needs some more work. I will send some more pics once it is done. Thanks for the props.

The recipe will be released in a few Kinda busy have to go.

Darth Creatine

Recipe:

Head: Darth Maul POTJ Head
Torso: Hulks Greatest hits Soldier, Also used for 2006 Grand Slam (GI Joe ) *See link below*
http://yojoe.com/action/06/grandslam3.shtml   (<-----Great Torso for Clone's and Mando Re-makes for Customs, In my opinion)
Legs: Same GI Joe/Hulk pack from above.
Helmet: Jango Fett from one of the Evolutions 3 pks. I think it was the Fett one With Boba, jango and Mandalore "The" Mandalorian leader.
Jacket/Trench Coat: Snake Eyes Movie Version 2009
Weapon: I can't remember. I seen it somewhere ALL Black (Like mine was). I added silver. There is one in Silver/Black already. Exact same Look!

Hope you all like it. Can't wait to show you all the FINAL paint job. Thanks for the compliments and props.

Appo,

Just wait until I get it done and it will lok about 80% better. Like I said this was pics sent to you to show you the base colors I used. No dry brushing has been added as of yet nor the Jet Pack and such I was planning on adding. So i hope you like the finished product. Which I am sure you will. I have NEVER sent anyone a custom they did not like. If you want something changed or added etc... Please tell me before I send it.

Darth Creatine

PS: Thanks EVERYONE for the kind words and great self-esteem boosts. I need them un-like others it is what keeps me going on Customs. And
(http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa103/LineageAdrenalin/016.jpg)

Hope you all like it. It isn't my best but it is made the exact way Appo wanted it made, Can't complain about a free custom I guess. He hooked me up with a Sig though so was well worth it. Wish I could have done a bunch more but running low on fodder and paints due to finances.

Hope you like it Appo and the rest of you guys and gals.

Clonehead,

I have been working on a few Marvel Customs as of late. I also have been VERY busy as of late with Court and other things going on in life all around me.

I will reveal my recent weeks to you guys and also let everyone in on my recent news.

I had to go to Court for Social Security Disability (I am only 30 but disabled from Iraqi/Aghan Wars)
I also had to go to St. Petersburg, Florida for a VA Hearing to get my Disability pay and such kicked in.

I did have some good news to share with everyone. I have received my Disability decision from both above Factions and was approved for both.

So long story short. I am NOT going to be rich or anything and wont be making thousands a month or nothing but I can now at least pay my bills and also afford to keep customizing. Since I am unable to work times have been kinda rough as of late. Without having to decide Do we need Butter & Bread or can I buy me some Metallic Silver Paint? With the wife always says. None of the above. Toilet Paper and Sandwich meat......

Ok enough joking. I wanted everyone to know I will be posting some more customs fairly soon. I have a Red Hulk -vs- Abomination and also an X-Force Archangel (With Wings) in the works and also a Spiderman....Not yet decided which Spiderman it will be.

I also got a commission piece from a guy who wants a Space Marine (Warhammer) Miniature made into a 6-12" life size fully articulated statue for his work desk. So once price is agreed upon that will be in the works also. I am suspecting that one will take me a few weeks.

Thanks guy and before anyone says congrats or wish's me luck and or anything else. Thanks for the support and since I dont have any friends here locally I decided to share that with you guys here.

Darth Creatine

PS: Appo Your Mando will be shipped out to you once I get the finds hopefully VERY soon, Thanks for your patience!

Nice Mando! I made a custom Mando too!

Nice Irish,

Lets see that Mando you speak of?

Sorry for the Delay as of late. Got some things going on around here. Social Security and also recent contact adn problems with the US Navy from my Medical Retirement. I have some medical issues and problems with them and me "Seeing Eye to Eye". G figure I get hurt serving them and screwed for it years later.

Oh well. Appo I did NOT forget about you. Wife gets paid Monday and am hoping to have the funds afterwards to send you that Custom overseas.

Hit me up with a PM with your addy. Thanks again mate for the patience. I did find a new paint that I prefer over ALL the others I "Use" to use alot of.

I have been cranking out commissions and Ebay sales as of late so I am 100% sorry for my absence. I will post soon. I have been making Marvel as of late so nothing really to post here. Thanks again for the concerns and PM's. I am aight just kinda floating by daily.
