Today I've started a new 1/18 "behind the scenes" diorama. After the '76 ILM MODELSHOP diorama which I've finished
some weeks ago (http://maxx-replicas.jimdo.com/projekte-2011-2014/76-ilm-modelshop/), this time I try to do something
from EP V ;)
Part 1: the Panavision R200 with tripod

That's awesome! I see George is ready to make some movies ;) "Quiet on the set!" Great work!
-
Stunning work already I can't wait to see more.

Thanks :) :)
And here's the next camera: A Vistavion Reflex Camera. This camera is unique and
was especially developed and built for the Hoth stop-motion shots in EP V
(upper right picture: Dennis Muren at work... ;))

I don't know where my comments went for the first image, but I did get that one on the front page. That is twice this week my comments have disappeared.
Needless to say I think this is fantastic. Off to share this second image.

Thanks :D :D

Wow, look fantastic. Off to the front page.

Most impressive indeed. And you make all these cameras from scratch using styrene/plasticard? Awesome work, man.
Also took a quick look at your B-Wing conversion. Love the attention to detail already on the panels on the fuselage.
-
Good Lord, which ones are the reference images?
What about a B-wing?

Good Lord, which ones are the reference images?
Ain't that the truth!
-
You know, what is cool about the shipyards is how often you will see something that someone here has created and think "that's the coolest thing I have ever seen"
We get that a lot here. Its awesome!
very well done
-
Just amazing work as always mate.

Many many thanks for your great feedback and comments :) :) :)

Yes, all the filming equipment is scratch built - no 3D printing ;)

Wow, that is fantastic! Love the small shot with the Probe Droid. Time to go share this with the masses.
-
Now this is why I class you one of the greats in diorama building and detailing. It's the little details that you capture like the story board, the boxes and the paperwork and folders just breathtaking work mate.

Thanks guys :)
@Ron: But I would say that there is also no lack of detail in your dioramas ;)
Here are my latest (detail) parts for the upcoming dioramas:

Ok all I have is WOW O WOW O WOW.
-
I have no words.
Let me go get this on the front pages and try to find some. Wow!
-
Just picked up my jaw off the floor. It's been lying there for the past two hours. This is just beyond words.
-
Thanks my friends :) :) :)
@Mr.Black: I hope your jaw is doing well again ... ;D
Here some pics of two (out of three) painted cameras and a "replica" of Richard Edlund's camera dolly from EP IV:

The camera's looked stunning just in the unpainted stage but damn mate the paint apps really bring these to life outstanding work indeed.
-
More amazing things. Mr. Black's jaw isn't the only one that is having problems. Back to the front page.
-
:) :) :)
David Berry's Pickup Truck with a mounted Mitchell Vistavion camera on the loading area (Richard Edlund is behind the camera) :

I tried to write some comments worthwhile to this on the front page.
MR way to go bud, this is just awe inspiring. It makes me wish I could put you on retainer to make all my ideas.
-
Thanks for marking the reference image, MR.
I guess you read my last comment. ;D
This is truely brilliant diorama building.

Thanks guys :)

Is that UFO really a hubcap from a 18 wheeler model? Love the use of the Micro Machines as models.
