@Spry: Thank you thank you! I'm thrilled you like it! I always try to push myself a bit further with each piece i do. Yeah you can definitely over do a theme or a look sometimes. I totally tapped into my WH40K days for this one. The look I was going for was a bit like the Chaos Marines' in the way they trick out their vehicles. Hehe well all the credit for the backdrop goes to you of course! I love using that to offset things
@Clonehead: Haha pretty much what I was going for. But how much death is too much? When does it stop being a tank and is just a rolling lump of fodder and greeblies? I really tried to get in as many detail shots as I could without losing the over all form of the tank so as not to confuse the viewer. The chain gun is a clone weapon mounted on a droid leg joint attached to the original TX-130 top cannon mount so the peg fits perfectly. Glad you like it!
@Tamer: Yes! The Reapers! I remember seeing FF for the first time and actually really dreading this "unknown threat" at the edge of the galaxy. I think the Sandos and Reapers would get along together pretty well. They could trade tips on putting spikes on stuff. The gore just seemed totally logical and fit in with the Sandos. If they don't skin your head and use your skull they probably cut off your head and pop it onto a spike to ward off their enemies. The arm was a last minute touch I came up with while thinking of the pit of spikes in the comic Boba Fett: Twin Engines of Destruction (featuring Jodo Kast). There are also several blaster holes and burns among the spikes as if some wounded enemy found himself in there and deftly kept shooting his blaster rifle though it had no effect. The spikes took his arm and the rest of him was sucked under the repulsors and ground into the sand. It took me a while to put all the spikes on it that's for sure. But I have it down to a science at this point. They actually glue pretty well once you know the trick.
@CS78: Thanks brother! RW and SW are 2 of my favorite trilogies! Yes! Perhaps the Empire contracts them eventually to hunt down the death troopers? Or maybe Mos Eisley is over run by rebel zombies and they must destroy them. I don't think zombies would hold up against these guys very well. Would be a lot of gore for sure!
