Oh yea, I forgot to ask, do you have a blue light shining on the first figure or did you paint a bit of blue in spots to look like a reflection?
It is nice to see some Shipyarders getting some added exposure! Very nice.
Awesome work and awesome story line! I really like this figure and would love to know where the head came from. Is it a custom sculpt and cast from someone? At any rate awesome work!
I like him alot and knew that the Embo figure would be the perfect donor of some great parts. That does it. I must mold Embo's shoulder armor piece.that is music to my ears can't wait for that!!
Awesome! kinda reminds me of Pei Mei from Kill Bill.
Wow those are awesome! Very nice work and the Zartan body is great for this. I love the one with the chest markings. So did you dremel the face off Ayla till it was just the tails and put that on the Zartan head?
That's cool.
Wow! Rebel bombay just rocks! At first I half thought that it was a pic of a real person.ditto
Would you guys mind if I copied your Rebel Bombay custom?, I love this figure so much I want one...ha,ha

We'd be flattered if you copied him. If you give us credit, maybe some of your audience will come to our blog and discover some other customizing artists while they visit and everybody gets some exposure.
was the head of that rebel from indiana jones??????????????????
Hi DD,
just a short note to inform you about my add of your trailer to my link section of my blog, very cool vid!!
and besides that, its a big Thank you for mentioning me on your blog list, much appreciated, my friend.
Cheers, Art
That is an interesting Jedi. Can you give more details on the recipe?
Oh yes , that is very nice. It looks like the only paint involved is on the head. Very nice.
I think I know how Vixey was done! Was it one of those line of toys of non-posible animals?
I love this figure, want to sell it :)
how long did it take to make the jawa? , it is awesome!
This is so freaking cool brian, I checked out the other pics. Simply amazing im going to have to try my hand at this apoxie
Where do you get the Aves stuff? And any chance you'd consider doing a mini-tutorial/intro to working with the Aves material?
Great stuff as always, I really want to try my hand at sculpting.
very good stuff mate, My blog was shut down :( i will start a new one on wordpress very soon. To Hell with blogspot
keep up the great work.
Simply wow just amazing.
Nice customs!
Daddy, nice work! I used the same Cobra Cmdr. body and jacket for a Jax Pavan custom a few years ago. It fits perfect for criminal investigators. I see Tubbs, but where's Crockett? 8)
thank you so much for the video DD
it's great to see most of my customs together in one video
of course a big "thumbs up" on YouTube and the video comes straight into my favorite list
thanks
Christoph
Guys this is a great cuse and I would be happy to offer my services. I don't have the figure but SH if you want to send it to me I'll give it the treatment and build him a mini rig to go with it. I have tons of fodder for the rig and have been eyeing several options. I'll be back later today to check in, Jaxon's birthday party in in a few hours and we are scrambling right now.sure no problem i only have the figure just pm me im going to post office on monday thanks
Double D! You have done a supreme job on this build! Call it what you want it looks like a droids cartoon pirate duo to me and I love it. As for the guns on the side it looks like yours are from the Joe line and are very nicely disguised. Great idea ataching the steering veins through them. With out going on and on about each piece the playability and accessories packed into every inch of this thing make it great/perfect for me. The paint job is great and I also love the figures. Nice touches all around. On your photos, I like pics like #1 with the clear rod in the bottom showing more of the vehicle. I would also avoid close ups of the figures like 3, 4 and 11. I like to open with a dramatic front or side shot of the vehicle in flight, then do left, right, and a close up or something like that. I also take any contest pics in the afternoon, outside on my deck just out of direct sunlight. I also try to use a simple single color backdrop to make my custom stand out and not have the eye distracted by a complex backdrop. Your first shot would be so perfect with a lt. blue backdrop. The white background is reflecting too much light and is creating a slight blur.
Yes...I was thinking a Droids cartoon and Road Warrior mash up.
I picked up one of those Deliah Blues too and wasn't too hot on the hair. (At least it's not attached to a monkey-faced Leia!) But that sculpted job on Deliah, my friend, takes the prize. That is absolutely perfect! Don't even consider doing anything else to it!
Perfectly fixed the very problem I have with the figure. :)
Looks great. Is the dancer's body that of the infamous "cankle" Leia? If so, did you somehow narrow those ankles? Or is it the fact you painted them to look more like shoes simply giving the illusion of a much better proportioned figure?

Thanks Shawn :)
Everyone loves ewoksWell.....not everyone...I detest the furry buggers. Hehe
Thanks Shawn :)
My pleasure. Stuff like this is what building customizing families is all about.
Sweet, on the front page.
I too could watch these all day long.
This is my latest custom and it is the first clone related custom action figure that I have ever made, unless you count the Cad Bane in disguise. I made this custom action figure as a thank you to Lucasclones for hooking us up with the Savage Opress comic that came out of free comic book day. This is a post worth checking out. It features some artwork of Lucasclones and a fun backstory for the custom I made.

this is one seriously cool clone!
Really glad everyone is liking Bones. I put a lot of heart into making him. I'm even happier that Chad likes him since he will be receiving him in the mail soon. Glad I was able to suprise you, Chad. Lol.You are very welcome! Bones exudes the heart you put into him. Cannot wait to see him in person!
Thanks again for the comic
this is one seriously cool clone!
Being that you are a master at clone customs, your comments are the highest praise a first timer like myself could ever hope to receive.
wow i love it thats is outstanding !! you did a fantastic job dd i am speechless and if thats your first clone cant wait to see the next
yeah the first one is the hardest sometimes the second comes out better that was a great idea ddwow i love it thats is outstanding !! you did a fantastic job dd i am speechless and if thats your first clone cant wait to see the next
I think my next clone project will be making a Bones for Elias. He was really sad to see it go. He started asking me what would happen if I broke my promise to Chad. Lol. I told him to get a grip. Dad doesn't break promises. He felt better when I told him I can always make another one. I could probably do it a lot faster now too that I know what the finished product looks like. The first time around I had to feel my way through it.
Nice job on Bones! I bet you had fun with that one.
Thanks everybody. I wasn't so sure about this one. The body wasn't Star Wars enough for me, but I really liked the way the head looked on it. I tried to boil and pop her arms off and wanted the legs from a Star Wars action figure, but the torso couldn't easily be modified. I may revisit her later to give her a Star Wars body. You know, I think she is fine the way she is...still looks very Star Warsy to me!
Nice job on Bones! I bet you had fun with that one.
Definitely did :). It feels really good to see that he was so well received. I was a little intimidated making my first clone custom after seeing how well clones have been done by the customizers here at the Yards, but all the comments left by everyone have made me feel a whole lot better about the attempt. Thanks everybody!
ZABRAK FEMALE
Just a quick and easy custom to keep the blog current. Nothing fancy, but a good custom for beginners that requires very little modification.

Nice videos, DD. I put the MAS video on the front page.
Jedi master CHI is cool looking!! Has the feeling of a ROGUE JEDI or Jedi that turned his back on the jedi ways and is out looking for adventure!!
The apoxie sculpt hari is phenomenal dude!! Little piece if advice if u ran into any problems while sculpting it...ALWAYS LET IT SIT for a few minutes to the point where it still bonds but its getting hard, apply and make the shape of the hair NO DETAILS once its cured the apply a little more apoxie and detail the hair its a slow process but it works.
Mike

Thanks Mike. I have been trying to use that technique everytime I use the apoxie sculpt. I try to create a skeleton first and then go back and build on the skeleton. Unfortunately, it leaves me with a lot of half finished projects :)
Wow, nice carbon freezing scene there, very impressive sculpting. Is that Jaina Solo? I wouldn't be surprised, I guess carbon freezing just runs in the family. ;D
looks superb mate
this is AWESOME! great job! start mass producing Chalmun ;) ;D
Great looking figure for a quicky!
Thats AWESOME!
the collector in me is shouting "i want one!"
I like the "[YEAR ONE]" title. I expect to see the year in review. Not that we can't just start at page 1. Maybe you could get all the customs together and take one giant picture. Just a thought.
