Well a disclaimer to start, I don't normally do blogs of any kind, simply cause I forget about them..
Well I stopped over by my brothers the other day since it was my nephews birthday, He's 2, so I simply bought a big rubber alligator and some nerf balls. Anyhow he loved the alligator and took off with it to his bedroom, a few minutes later he comes out with an alliagtor jacket, he wanted to wear it when he played with the toy, it was priceless, I snapped a pic with my phone, hence the crappy pic, but I had to share it.
-
Awesome picture of the little one playing with the aligator :D
-
that;s adorable
-
LOL! He likes his alligators.
-
The rubber alligator looks real in the picture, Wayne! I was confused until I started reading through it.
-
Well today was my "me" day for the holiday, I had my younger brother over to watch the game. Go Pack, Then I got my Christmas lights hung outside, and worked on my customs, all in all a good day, though now that I didn't go to any familie's house, I feel like to left something out, but it was nice and peaceful.
-
Thats one good kid you got Recon, I had to raise two while I was in the army. How many do you have?
-
Sorry Recon, didn't read the disclaimer. Tell your brother that he has one cute kid.
-
Neat alligator! Love that pic.
I called off morning hunting to help with the xmas tree, me time is sound good right about now though.
-
My "me" time may start a little later than I thought ;) Sue is still at home, leaves for work at 11, then I need to put up a small temporary fence in the backyards on one side of the woods, I want to keep the dog off certain parts of the lawn, but that will take 10 minutes to do. Then it's on to my customs, this site and God knows what else. I even have a puzzle to work on if I so desire, but this time won;t last long and soon it will be back to work, Unlike Pat's month long vacations :)., yha I am jelious :)
I have season 4 of Dr. Who to watch but my surround sound took a dump last night so I am back to normal sound, that will be added to my Christmas list. Sue and I are doing things a little differntly this year, we are picking what we want for teh house, so to speak and we are getting that. So far the new surround sounds is on the list and I have my eye on a new 1100watt set up, my last one was 600 so it should be better.
-
LOL. Ain't that the way it goes! My hunting day looks scraped too as the weather is now looking pretty miserable. Oh well, more time to play on here.
-
Go for a digital surround unit if you have the source, Wayne. You can tell the difference.
-
I did pick up my new home theater surround sound system, it's an 1100 watt RCA, so far I am impressed, it's a step up over my last one, that's for sure, In some regards it is super touchy as it really picks up every detail, including lags in a DVD, but I love it thus far,
I am already sick of winter after only 3 days of real winter conditions, a few days ago I ended up with over 18 inches of snow, now its below zero temps, I did earn karma points today by helping a woman get out of the ditch on my way to work, only took a few minutes of pushing, but man was it cold.
Other than that, work sucks, but that's why I get paid to do it, if it were anymore fun, I would be paying them ;)
-
LOL. Good one on the work quote. I can associate some days.
Sounds awful on that snow, I guess I won't whine about my weather.
-
I hope the weather warms up a little so I can get in the garage and paint, I spent about 5 hours on my New Years custom contest entry today. So far I like where it is going, but I need Mother Nature to warm up a bit.
Tommorow is Football day, so I will just be parking my butt infront of the TV watching the Packers and Bears go at it.
Sue made candy tonite for Christmas, it to tempting to keep my fingers out of it, I just hope there is some left for the Holidays ;)
And that folks is what I did today :)
-
1100 watts, holy cow, Wayne! That would be a good window rattler come video game time. Sorry about all the snow that you got. I hope next time that it's not my turn to get dumped on. I will have to check but my guess is that I won't get the Packers game tomorrow. Too bad as I would love to see em whip their Bear rivals.

As you can see I don;t update a blog often,
3 months since my last entry,
Still a little unevenful but that is a good thing, just waiting for spring so I can get my garage going again, I have a few projects to get to. My Dad's 34 will be back from paint later this month and then I have to put the thing back together again, fun but time consuming,
I need to get working on my GS, winter was productive in buying new parts, so hopefully the body work will be done this summer, I am welding in new floor pans, rear quarters and then mini-tubbing the rear.
Other than work still sucking and my neighboor being a Freaking lowlife looser pervert, things are good ;)

It's been forever since I posted in here but what have I been up to, well mainly work and building another of my cars,
More details to come but here are some teasers,
-
The 55 has a 496 cubic inch BBC, should make right around 550-575 HP without nitrous and I have a 250 hp system for it, 400 trans, 9 inch ford rear end, The car is being done 100% by myself so it has been slow going, the body is done, just waiting for paint after everything else is done mechanically. I switched it over to 4 wheel disc brakes, power rack steering, tubular a-arms, 2 inch dropped coils, I still need to add a sway bar, Interior is not done, will be a black and grey leather and tweed, Everything is new thus far, still about 2 years from being done, but the body was the biggest thing, it was done on a rotisery with all new metal where needed so now it has become a full size model kit ;)
-
Wow Wayne, that looks awesome. You built that whole thing from the ground up? Wow.
-
Man, she's a beaut! What a nice looking ride. Looking forward to more WIPs!
-
Yep thus far everything except the finishing of the body work and teh primer was done by me, I even modified a new stock tank to accept my AN lines. It's time consuming but it is my escape when work gets to stressfull. I was able to "work" the firewall in with some heat and a hammer ;) so now my engine has the clearance needed. Prior to this it was very tight near the drivers side when I put on my tall valve covers. This one has been a modification to everything, even the brake booster had to go over 1 3/4 inches and up 2 to clear the big block. It's worth it and it's being done for me so no matter what it takes, I want it my way.
Here is the gas tank mod and and a shot of the dash, I was pickey so even the dash went to bare metal for a perfect finish, the mock up pic shows the dash dusty but take my word on it, it is like glass, pay no attention to the crappy seats and steering wheel, these are for seat bracket design.

This is the end goal, I even have this pic as my screen saver to motivate me to get my ass into the shop. This is almost the exact paint scheme I want, I just want the grey a slightly darker shade of charcol
-
Well I would say you are well on your way. Sure wish I had those skills. I bet folks just come around to watch this build!
-
I don't know if I call it skill or insanity, every time I build a car I say next time I am just going to buy one already done, but here we go again,
So if readers do actually read this, they can help me chose a valve cover for the engine, I have 2 sets I am debating over, first is the regualr big polished aluminum, second is a polished fabricated set.
Which set do you prefer?
And speaking of insanity I started wiring the car today, the last pic is a 30 pound box of wires they call a wire harness, like I said the car will be 100% brand new except for the body and frame :)
