Who Killed Dack Ralter in ESB?

(1/3) > >>

RedLeaderOne (00fire501):
Hi guy's,  I've all ways wondered who killed Dack Ralter in ESB, was it enemy fire or friendly fire?  Watching the movie and that scene it looks like they where hit from behind making me think it was friendly fire. Later on in the battle Luke tell the other pilots to watch that cross fire. So what do you guy's think.

and one more thing, I know they had to use the X-Wings to escort the transports but why did they not use some X-wings to attack the AT-AT, give the Rebel troopers some hope.

DocOutlands:
I always assumed the crossfire to which Luke referred was that of the AT-ATs - focusing on ONE would drift a pilot into the sights of another.

As for why - well, because Lucas isn't a military tactician.

Kualan:
I can't say who killed Dack, but as for why they used snowspeeders and not X-Wings, there's one simple answer:

Merchandising  :P

Tamer:
I always thought it was a Walker blast, but now that I think on it it could have been multiple things.

DocOutlands:
Taken from the Rules of War:

- Friendly fire isn't.
