This is the fellow Clint has been telling us about. I found his customs in an email he sent me Dec. 7th! Welcome to the Yards guy!

I am loving that Arctic Rex. Well all of em. I look forward to seeing more additions to this thread!

Keep 'em coming!
-
i wanna see more shots of that earmuff trooper!
-
LOVE IT!!!!amazing customs
Are there any more pics of the arctic rex
-
woah ! i want that rex!!
-
now if clint could get his hands on that helmet he could cast it!

Yepper at least the hard part. That soft goods look well integrated though. I am hoping we can convince him to do us a tutorial on that one. I really like that figure. I would love to see a pic with the helmet on!
-
I have seen these before, they are very nice indeed. That is the best Rex in that suit I have seen. Nice work on that helmet.
-
Looks great.
-
That Rex looks awesome.
-
The snow rex looks extremely awesome, I hope we see alot more
-
the dude just emailed you th pictures of his great work?
why doesn't he just join us on the board?
that Rex is awesome squared and I'm happy to see the Point Rain trooper in toy form since it'll be next year before Hasbro can get around to it.
-
He has joined as that name and does plan on uploading more pics to this thread. The great news is that he is working on a tutorial of how he made the snow rex helmet. I can't wait to see that!
-
Oh LOL I missed it, sorry :-\

a tutorial on the helmet would be kickin! that's one clone that I actually WANT to make from the animated series....! I think that it is interesting because the figure he made is very legacy style like, because of the fact that there isn't an animated snow trooper to use as a base I'm sure.
-
Is it just me or is that Snow Ops Rex helmet just stunning?

He's finally here, lol! Great customs so far!
-
Hi again everyone and thanks for all the kudos! Talk about motivation!
I have tried to post a pic with this response, and am working on a tutorial on the Arctic Rex.
-
Well, there you are, buddy. Welcome to the Shipyards!
Yes, I am looking forward to that tutorial. I see that you have had alot of customs for sale on ebay lately. What are you working on, this week? Oh, if you didn't notice, I believe that Tamer put your arctic Rex on the front page (http://www.imperialshipyards.net/) on Sunday.
-
words cannot describe how in awe I am over that figure.
the helmet is done superbly, I am on the edge of my seat waiting for that tutorial! I realy want to know what material you used for the flared out material on the helmet.
-
what parts did he use for the rex figure? 8)
-
Hi back to all and again thanks for the warm welcome.
Just to fill you all in about myself . . . I am a father of the three in his very late thirties, but hangin on to em. lol
Time is precious.
With that said, someone asked me what I am working on at the moment . . . . .go out to wookiepedia and check out Commander Ganch and his pilot Squawk. These two are the present focus, and I hope to show you soon.
I am also working on my fourth Jet to sell on ebay. He is still hot so I am going with it lol
If you get into my ebay feedback, you can see some pics of others I have done this season , and if you go back far enough, there is last season as well.
I would love to have a tutorial with pics and the whole nine yards, and promise that someday soon . . . .but wanted to break the Rex helmet down for you since everyone is so jacked about it, now you got me fired up about it again!!
Anyway I think I can give you a good description without pics and I am all for someone making a cast of that helmet and the Jet helmet. (Clint?!?!?!?!)
Those earmuffs (for lack of a better term) are tricky!
So here we go:
Get yourself a Rex figure, and a Snowtrooper, of the OTC variety. Or any of the other more recent versions with removable helmet. (Strange side note: I made three of these Arctic Rex's last year - however there was one thing about the first one that set it apart from the rest. I found there are two different versions of that snowtrooper, one has a more slender helmet, than the other more flared out version. ) The slender helmet version is the one I have posted.
ok, so numero uno,
1.) Off with the heads! Both of them.
2.) Cut the ball joint of both off just about the 'collar' of the suit on both.
3.) Attach Rex's head to the snowtroopers body with your favorite bonding agent.
4.) Cut the 'raised' vision / breathing section out of REx's helmet. Very carefully. You should end up with basically just the " T " section of the helmet.
5.) Lay this on the snowtrooper helmet.
6.) Use a sensitive marking pen or other such tool to lightly outline the T visor on the snowtrooper helmet.
7.) Use an exacto to cut out the shape of the T visor from the snowtrooper helmet.
8.) Remove what you have cut (and save it for another custom!!)
9.) Carefully glue the T visor into the helmet. This takes a lot of practice. (and there is probably a better way, I just haven't gotten back to it)
10.) After allowing this to dry, take a very small drill bit or your exacto, and carefully make a hole on each side of the mouth section of the helmet.
11.) Insert and glue small, short tubes, which are the coldweather 'snorkels' seen in the 'toon.
12.) Thats pretty much it. All there is left to do is paint it up. Let me know if this makes sense . . . . . . . .
-
if I understand you correctly, all you did was transplant the faceplate/visor of a rex figure (or realy could be any clone trooper helmet right?) onto the faceplate of a snowtrooper helmet?
BRILIANT! basically it's exactly what clint does with his helmet bashes. I'd love to see a couple cast resin duplicates of that helmet!
-
Oh yeah, I understood that as well. I had started to do one using the casting of the bigger snowtrooper helmet as a base with the face mask of a casted aotc clone for this but it has been sitting on the backburner for a while.
So you say that the very first release of the removable snowtrooper helmet was more narrow in the lower face covering part?
I would love to cast one of these and like the one on the first page of this thread, the most.
I may have to try to cobble one together using your instructions and see what happens.
How long have you been selling customs on ebay?
-
What is your eBay stores name custom dept? :-\
-
Hey Guys-
Clint, please keep me posted on how the cast goes. And how about Jet, would you mind trying to cast that helmet as well? I would be willing to send you anything that may help, would just really like to get a couple to work with, if it works out.
I have been on ebay for three years. Not long after I started selling, I discovered the custom world and decided it was something I wanted to do. Like many of you, from there, I became hooked! I love it!
oh and my name is ric.sea.jedi on ebay. I had a store for awhile called the Ugnaughts House, but it didn't seem worth the price to me.
-
Yes, the helmet for Rex at the top of this page really looks spot-on. What were your additions to the jet helmet, again. how did you make them?
Ugnaughts House, I like that.
-
Getting back to your question about the snowtroopers helmets . . . I don't know which snowtrooper had the more narrow helmet, I was never able to find another despite alot of searching on ebay, all others have the more flared out helmet that just doesn't 'fit' as well.
The Jet helmet has small plastic side pieces I cut from some pieces here at work. I am a staff member at a plastics molding plant, and I used some pieces I picked up here. The hard part is getting the plastic to conform to the shape of the helmet and allow it to be glued to the curve of the helmet. The plastic wants to stay straight, if that makes sense.
-
It does. Is there any way that you can heat the plastic pieces that you cut allowing them to flex to your desired position?
You say that you have been doing customs for three years. What was the first figure that you did and how many do you think you have done since then? Your story sounds like mine in that, you started customizing to sell them on ebay and then you fell in love with it.
-
i'm going to try heating them up tonight. thats a great idea, THanks. I am working on the Gree looking clone that appears in the episode right after point rain. and have another Jet I am also working on.
The first figure I did was an attempt at a more detailed Boba and a Tusken turned into A'Shared.
I have sold ~130 customs on ebay. I have a folder full of three years worth of pics. . . . . .
-
Well I can see you found the thread I started and have already started sharing your secrets. I can't wait to see Clint try that Rex helmet. Needless to say we all loved that one. Heck, we have liked everything you have shown us. I too, am almost ready to loose my thirty something years and am a proud father of one. I know one thing, we sure appreciate the tutorials and highlights of what you are working on. Be sure to give us your ebay auctions and we will see what we can do about getting your a price you deserve!
-

OOOO! I'm excited. A more detailed boba huh? sounds interesting. Can't wait to see it! (take a look at my thread a few pages back and you'll see that I tried to do an upgrade to the boba figure myself)
-
Thanks for the offer on the auctions! This week it is Eeth Koth's clones, but I see someone already posted a link to the auction over in the other thread.
here is another Mandalorian. I am not too proud of the first Boba! lol
-
Looks good to me!
-
definately interesting. I like it! A great deal of paint on this figure isn't there? Idk about the paint job, it looks a little busy. I like the weathering though. the belt and holsters are alot different than I'd expected, but not out of place. I like them.
by chance, did you use a reference for this look for him? I don't remember the yellow triangles on his chest armor like that, or the emblem you've put on his shoulder. If this is suposed to be boba did you make him from a comic depiction?
-
I don't know if I recognize the belt or the holsters but I have seen that ammo pouch before.
I like him, buddy.
-
Awesome fett

oh sorry about posting the customs of eeth koths clones i forgot it was you lol
-
Hey no problem on posting the auction in the other thread, I am glad its there!
The Mandalorian I posted above is supposed to be Jaster Mereel, based on the Open Seasons comic books.
I didn't post that first Boba I did; he is pretty rough, being my first custom . . . .
By the way I have over a hundred Star Wars comics I am looking to sell, if you know anyone interested.
-
Nice Job! I'm impressed with Snow Captain Rex and Commander Jet :o
-
Hey Thank you very much. Those two have defintely been my most popular customs in the three years I've been trying. The feedback is defintely motivational!
I have posted another custom from a year or so ago...........
Legacy Style Hawkbat Batallion Commander . . .
-
that is awesome dept!
-
I like him, Sean. That pauldron turned out sharp.
-
Awesome custom!

Thanks Clint, as you can see, I found the thread . . . . .
I am working on another commando with removable helmet and wondered about the custom contest . . . . how much does a custom need to be from the story lines of the books?
-
According to the rules, it needs to be based on a scene from one of the books. Check the rules on the first page of that contest's thread.
-
speaking of which, when are the pics of the dio's gonna be posted? im really eager to see them!
-
sweet looking hawkbat trooper CD, great job!!

speaking of which, when are the pics of the dio's gonna be posted? im really eager to see them!
I believe that they will be posted during the week after the 31st.

HI there Medic96. Sorry for the delay on the pictorial on the helmet. You want a the Arctic Rex helmet, right?
I am going to do that helmet soon. Right now I am just finishing up a couple other projects I have going on, of which I will post a pic in a couple days.
I need to obtain another snowtrooper helmet as a starting point, although I considered using a galactic marine for the video. It will still show the same idea. Hopefully I will get started on pics later this week.
By the way, I love your latest customs. Definitely inspirational!!!!!!
-
actually i would rather see some pics of the earmuff troop(s), also are you the one who posted the arctic rex on jediinsider.com?
-

Nope, wasn't me, buddy. But hey I think thats awesome if it is circulating around. Here is another shot of one of the earmuff troopers I have sold. I am working on another of these to list on ebay, this weekend. Those earpieces are the tough part. Making them look identical and in the same place on the helmet.
-
Pop us up a link and a pic and we will feature that ebay sale on our front page.

you know there is a pretty simple fix for that problem.... make one realy good one and then make a cast resin copy of it so that all you have to do to make another is pour some resin in and presto chango you have a new one piece helmet. (or you could send it to clonehead, docoutlands, or myself and have us do a mold for you!)

Wonderful paints apps mate well done indeed.

Thats a great idea and I am all for it. Can you guys decide who and get me an address? I am currently working on a different version regarding the material used for those muffs. I have been using a polyethylene based plastic and it does not like to bond with anything. Which raises another question for me. . . . . what is everyone's bonding agent of choice. I have purchased many, 100% satisfied with none.
When I get this one finalized, I will get one send to whomever would like to cast it. I have no experience with such although I do have some casting agents I have not used, given to me from a friend. While I am at it I would like to send an Arctic Rex helmet - as soon as I get another made that is . . . . .
Thanks Spuda.
-
I would think Clint would be all over this idea, but Devin does some good casts too. I will check and try to get you an address.
-
I wouldn't mind trying to mold those pieces for you, Sean. I don't currently have any mold material on hand but plan on picking some up in a couple of weeks. That would give you some time to get together another arctic Rex helmet.
-
Clint it is then. I would love to see how this casts too.
-
Sounds good. Of course you realize I am going to be more picky than I have ever been on something I am sending you guys....so ya two weeks will hopefully do it lol.
Like I said I am working on a new version of the earmuff trooper. I was planning to auction this one but it definitely looks better than the others, I think anyway. I will plan on sending you both. Oh and one last thing....I have a strong feeling you guys would come up with an even better version if you wanted to.
Clint, Like I said I have some resin I have not used. I can get you the specs on it; If you are interested I would just send that to you to use.
One other question: what about heating up plastic resin pellets to pour into your molds? I can get that kind of material, no problem. we have resins go obsolete which are recycled but a small amount would not be a problem.
-
clint can get that done. right now I don't have any silicone and won't be able to get any for quite a while. BUT... I just purchased a snow trooper today and plan on mkaing a mold of it later on when I get some more resin and eventually making my own arctic rex using resin parts.
-

I have never used the pellets before but have seen something like that marketed to use as simulated water effects in dioramas. I wonder if it would be as runny as the resin that I use prior to setting up. And then there is the question of what damage hot resin could do to the silicon molds that I use. I wouldn't worry about sending any resin, Sean. I'm comfortable using the stuff that I got and am happy to send you cast parts for the use of your master parts or, were you wanting your own molds to use yourself. I'm sure that could be a possibility, also.

Hello again all, I have a couple customs out on ebay this week, with more to come. Here is the address of one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220545534561&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT
This is a revised version of the 'earmuff' trooper, I used a completely different material for the pieces on the sides of the helmet. Please take a look and let me know what you think . ...
Thanks much, Customs Dept.
-
that one looks good dept, like the new head!
-
Great custom.I think I saw him in the episode. :)
-
Oh, I think that is your best earmuff trooper yet. I like the other one also. Please post some of those pics here, if you would.
-

I agree with you Clonehead. Rather than using the polyethylene based material I used before, this time I used pieces from a death star gunner helmet (saga line). The curve that is molded into the back of that helmet works well going on to the side of the helmet, when cut into the 6-sided shape of the earpiece. Someday soon I will make this helmet again and send you on to mold. This week I am going to work on a revised arctic rex head and make two at the same time, so that I can send one of those as well. I agree with you about the resin pellets. They take very high temps before they get to a pourable state.
This week I am back to some of the season two characters for auction: clones Buzz and Draa and Jedi Barriss Offee, animated. Here is a pic of the clone on ebay this week . . . . .
-
This is a great one too. I put up a link for your ebay auction on our front page. Lets see if we can drum up some business for this great trooper. I have a feeling even if Hasbro does make one eventually, yours will be better anyhow.
-
Fantastic custom mate really cool
10/10
-
WOAH!!! Great job!
-
Awesome ear muff trooper!
-
hey dept, have you ever considered making a flame trooper? you already know how to make the body (just repaint arctic rex) all you have to do is make some sort of flamethrower!
-

I've been thinking about that, Medic96. That helmet is basically the same design as the arctic rex helmet. Check out Commander Mag on Wookiepedia. I mentioned to clonehead that I am going to make the artic helmet again, document it with photos, and I am going to make two . . . one to send to ch to mold adn one which will be the flamethrower trooper, rather than another arctic. Thanks for the compliments to all and medic thanks for the additional push to get on that one. fett
-
:o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o nice customs :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

Your solution for the curved earmuffs worked pretty well. I can't wait to see your flamethrower trooper.
-
on watch lets see if i can nab him ;)
-
Your solution for the curved earmuffs worked pretty well. I can't wait to see your flamethrower trooper.
Hey there Clonehead - wanted to let you know that I am watching those Rex' you have listed over on ebay and as soon as i get some more fun money in there, I will be taking those if they are still around.
Regarding the flamethrower trooper, I checked out a galactic marine last night as the potential figure to use for the flamethrower trooper. I gotta say I just don't like the animated head on the body. It just doesn't look quite 'right' . . . out of proportion to the body. So I am back to obtaining a couple snowtroopers for this project. . . . which puts it on hold for now.
On a brighter note, I've gotten an ARF helmet hollowed and fitting nicely. Looks like this guy will be the focus this week while I search for some snowtroopers!!
-
Hey Everyone.
Here is the address of my latest ebay action. Please check this one out (Waxer ARF with removable helmet) and also let me know what you think of the animated Barriss Offee in my other auction. She has been a work in progress and I finally committed to getting her completed and out on her own.
And last but not least, now that you guys know me a bit - and I have learned more about the forum world . . . .I realize I want a better call sign than what I have currently stuck myself with . . lol. I would like to hear any and all suggestions, if anyone has any. Try to keep it clean haha

-
Looking good, buddy. Looking very good. How long did it take you to hollow that arf helmet out?
I like the Barris Offee also.
As far as a name change, what is wrong with your ebay callsign?
Oh, I wanted to ask you what you think of the ebay fee change announcement?
-

Thanks for the kudos , Clint. Hollowing the ARF helmet wasn't bad at all. I actually did one that is too big on the inside for most heads. I am trying to fill it back in a bit. I wish I had better pics of Barriss to show the facial tattoos.
The ebay change I noticed is free auctions....is that what you are talking about? Or did I miss another increase?!
-
Nice job on both customs. Funny, I just picked up a Padme to make a Barris custom. You beat me to it. haha
-
Looks good, put it up on our front page to perhaps drum you up some business. I also put up a link to the great Barriss figure too.
-
Coo, the waxer is really cool.
-
those waxer and bariss figures look sweet dude!
-
Thanks to all for the positive reviews. . . . And Tamer you are far too kind, putting Waxer on the front page.
Great to hear from everyone.

Hey Everyone, just wanted to update with my thread with a picof some commission work I have been doing lately. \
Clonehead - I don't know if you have seen him, but the Arctic Rex (animated version) is now out! check tunghori, the seller on ebay. I will most likely try and get a hold of that figure to make the flamethrower trooper! Currently working on another Cmdr Jet ! I can't stop making him - just too cool. I sure hope they make him next year or sometime soon.
-
AWESOME BOOMER!!! :o
-
Hey buddy, we need better shots of those intriguing looking figures you have there. I am really curious about that kit fisto one.
Yes, I seen that he is selling those factory reject arctic rexes and yes, I did buy one and might get it in like three weeks. I belive the helmet on that figure may only be half removable but I share your idea about using it as the base for a flamethrower trooper.
-
whoa - what do you mean by half rejects? Is that rex not coming to the States?
The Kit is on an ARF body. The buyer wanted the extra articulation on a Kit. I will try and reduce the size and zero on him. I have alot of pics I can't get posted because they are larger than 250 k. Is there any help you can offer?
Also what did you mean by the helmet being half removable? I wondered why tung didn't have a pic with the helmet off . . . . .
Thanks Clonehead.

No, No, Arctic Rex certainly will be released here. By reject, I am referring to the speculation that all of the figures that tunghori sells are either ill gotten paint and body blem rejects or stolen directly off the factory line as this one isn't released in his country either but there certainly is a Hasbro factory there.
Since Toyfair, we have updated quite a few threads with some new pics. You can find some of arctic Rex in the new Clone Wars line board, like this one of Rex with his helmet off that I found on Rebelscum.com. As you can see in this shot, The top of Rex's helmet clearly comes off and it is my fear that the rest of the head is either mounted on a ball or worse, mounted on a post like the old potj snowtrooper.
As far as posting your bigger pics, What I do in that case is host them on flikr and post them here using the insert image control like I did with this pic. Just go to flikr.com and sign up for a free account. It's easy. Using this method, you can also post hosted pics in your ebay auctions for free and save the $$ that ebay charges you for having multiple pics in one auction.
-
wow Ya it looks like they managed to screw this one up! Why the heck would we want the top of the helmet to come off? :-*
And its funny you say that about tunghori. The Stone I got - one of the shoulder emblems is a complete blob of paint. The fine lines are not there at all.
I will try that with Flikr. Thanks for the tip, CH. You are always helpful. No competitive attitude at all, just helping out , and that is hard to find.
Here is another pic of the Boomer I made, using one your cast heads, I added a mohawk, seen in the other pics.
This is also Cmdr. Ganch, another request by the same person. Someday soon I want to make these again to sell at auction or even thought again about posting a couple on here. When I can avoid all the ebay bs, I sell them directly to people for alot less than my auctions have been getting to.
-
I have no idea why they would make the arctic rex like that except to save money, I guess. he never did remove his helmet in that episode that I remember but you and I know that everyone would prefer a fully removable helmet to reveal a human head. I guess I will have to butcher the one that I get and make it that way.
Ah, we get more stories that lead to the assumption that tunghori is selling factory rejects. Some quality control person probably picks em off the line and throws em in a bucket or something and then someone slips someone else some money to dump that bucket into their lunchbox rather than in the incinerator.
Yeah, get a flickr account set up and I can help you posting your pics here or in your ebay auctions. I am here to help you guys and have no secrets other than my clone wars Yoda pajamas to keep from you.
I like that Boomer and Ganch. They turned out great! I do love seeing my casts on other people's customs.
-
Ya I really like your heads. I need to get some more . . . and the ball joints. Gets expensive when everytime I want an animated head, I buy another rex. I am with you ., . . the first thing I will do is try to replace that head. I just want the body to work with.
I have to say, the more I look at that Arctic Rex, the more inclined I am to make another! It is really a disappointment in my eyes.
I thought about something like that scenario with tunghori, but then I also just figured the Chi. gov't was simply trying to undercut the States by selling them over there before they ever reach stores here. Just another way to slice and dice our economy. whoa I am getting political. I am sure it is more like the scenario you describe. you would think someone would catch on to that if it were theft....but who knows.
I will get a flikr acct set up and get back to you. Thanks again.
-
Looking good on the front page again!
-
Dude your customs are amazing i cant get enough of them.
:o :o
-
excellent customs mate
the Kit Fisto in Clone armour looks fantastic
-
Thanks again for the front page Tamer and to all for the encouragement.
Here is another, closer shot of Kit on the ARF body. Just a tip some may want to hear: The fine lines on the armor of Kit and the Green Rex you can see in the corner of the Boomer photo; I use a pencil to sketch those lines on the armor, then paint over them.
Also another close up of one of Cloneheads resin heads, with a mohawk added, for the Boomer head. I love those heads and now that I can finally (sort of) paint the eyes halfway decent, I plan to nab more.
-
SEcond pic didn't get in there the first time.......
-
One more try, sorry.
-
That's a good tip on painting those straight lines. I will have to try that sometime. Tamer beat me to the fp on your update. I was waiting for better pics.
I have read several techniques about painting eyes but I start out with the whites and then go for the pupil. Once you get those how you like, you can touch up around the outside with a darker color and then the flesh color.
Your eyes look fine to me. What did you use to build up the mohawk?
-
Hi CH - For that mohawk I used paintable fabric paint which is very thick and can be made into shapes. It cures kinda soft which makes it very easy to carve into other shapes after curing time.
-
Wow! I know the stuff you are talking about but have never used it. That was a great idea.
-
Oh yeah, I understood that as well.
How long have you been selling customs on ebay?
hey Clint, I finally figured out where the more narrow snow trooper helmet came from . . . . it is the 30th ann. tin snowtrooper with the removable helmet.
-
Oh, no wonder I never noticed it. I never got that one.
-
Ya its kind of a poor figure except for that one little difference.
-
Do you have any more customs besides the ones you already shown us??
??? ???
-
I do, 110clones. Here is a few more randoms from the past. I still need to get out to flikr and set up an account but as of yet have not.
-
And another....
-
And a Mando . . . "Ram Zerimar" Got this idea from a costume I seen on the 'net.
-
And an ewok Rebel Pilot . . . .Sprywalker might like this for his dio . . .
-
Those are really cool. I am digging that mando and something about that rc is really talking to me. I like the mix of added materials on that one and the gold markings on the one leg.
-
Nice customs and thx for responding ;)
-
Looking really good there. Lovin the mando and the rest for that matter. Thanks for sharing. On the front page yet again.
-
[ Which raises another question for me. . . . . what is everyone's bonding agent of choice. I have purchased many, 100% satisfied with none.
Thanks Spuda.
yeah plastics can be tough sometimes i use pvc cement that the plumbers use, i haven't had real issues there.
-
I am with you . . . . . tried many, 100% satisfied with none.
-
great looking customs CD, I like the Ewok rebel pilot.
great job
-
That Commando looks great. Those gold markings on the leg really accent the other colours.
-
Ya Thanks. The original idea of those gold markings was a Mandalorian poem I read. I wanted to whole poem to appear in sections over all of the armor. but instead tried to replicate some of the individual words. Very tough . . . although that was sometime ago and I might be able to improve it a bit now that I have had more practice. That one sold on ebay for the starting bid of $10. I was bummed at the time but hey I am still friends with the guy who bought him so thats pretty cool.
-
that ewok looks snug in that suit lol and mando r us thats cool mate spud will love it
-

CAN'T WAIT FOR SOME NEW CUSTOMS!!!
-
i'm really enjoying the way this contest is hotting up !!
-
Ok here we go as promised - a few new customs. Most are simple clone re-paints, but I really like them and wanted to share them here. I also have a few pics of my collection to post, inspired by the presentation by WraithNine. Very cool. Its interesting to see others peoples collections.
My droid for the contest just isn't quite ready for a pic....but I will say this - - the inspiration involves the imperial probe droid and the assassin droid in the recent clone wars episode. . . . . . .
-
a couple rogue jedi . . . . .
-
more clones . . . .
-
and a few of the collection . . . . .

Yep, That was the idea on that one. Thanks for the compliment~! ;D
-
Man, CD, where have you been, buddy? I, myself, have been out of town all week. I can see that seeing some new work from you was worth the wait. I like those collection pics, also. Can't wait to see some pics of your Droid Contest project.
Headed for the Front page.
-
Hey there CH - how have you been? Traveling huh? Well its good to hear from you and I am glad you enjoy the pics. It is indeed a busy time of year and I wish I had more time for all the ideas I have started.
Here is one more pic and thanks again.
-
sweet collection how did u do the chest plate for the commando??
cool customs btw
-
Thanks 110. The chest plate is actually a side skirt from an older joe figure. It already had that tapered shape with a raised edge to it and was the right length so I didn't have to cut it other than away from the belt of the joe figure. I then glued it in place and clamped it at different places to get a good hold.
-
those are great brother that collection looks excellent!
-
Your the best sean keep em comming

Welcome to the site.
Customs being posted is entirely dependant on the members here, you are free to post as many as you would like. Start a thread and Post your own, otherwise the group here is pretty active with new items being done all the time. There are 6 pages of customizers all full of goodies for you to see,

Thank you so much!!!!

Long live the Clone Wars!!

Hey Everyone, Its been a while since I posted a few customs, so I thought go back and pull out a few pics from the past until my current projects are completed. Just not enough time in the day for custom work! I hope everyone enjoys the pics and the Easter weekend. CD 8)

110, Sprywalker, and Clonehead. . . .THanks for the compliments. Sprywalker, that Mando you recently completed is absolute hands down one of my favorite customs . . .ever. I have seen alot of work including Silof and I'm tellin ya man, that guy and his speeder are nothing but bada#$. Ok now that I have that outta the way, its a real compliment to hear you like my creations. 110 and Clonehead as always . .Thanks for the compliments. I always look forward to hearing from you guys. My next post will be a Shadow V-19 . . . . . till then have a great Easter.
-
Nice job on the customs! bbfet
Hey thanks. I take it from your name you love Mandalorians. I share the same affliction, though I have not explored them as much as I would like to. I do have several Mandos I made in the past...way back when I first started. One of these days I will get them in here. Glad you liked the pics.
-
I know one thing I don't think those troopers are too heavy on the camo. On the front page. Sorry it took me a little longer than I would have liked. This place has become a custom explosion lately. What a great problem to have thanks to folks like you!
-
Thanks Tamer. Thanks to you guys I have found a 'home base'.
Here is a couple more pics, from the 'archives'; just a few more from the past while I work on that V-19! Its my first ship I am customizing and will be starting another thread in the ships forum....
-
The above is a clone trooper trio I made for a friend of mine down in NC. Below is a 'concept' Mandalorian Pilot.
-
Very nice mods and paint aps on these. Looking forward to that vehicle thread.
-
Here is Commander Salvo made from the description on Wookeepedia . . .(there are no pics . . .)
-
These are some very cool figs!
-
Here is a Jedi of the Ishi Tib species.....
-
and another version of 'Arctic Rex and a Bomb Squad Clone from Season 1 of the Clone Wars; "Blue Shadow Virus". One of these days I am going to make a squad of those.
-
cool customs, i like the bomb squad trooper!
-
Nice work s always, Sean! I'm glad you made this your home base.
-
Commander Aiden kicks all kinds of ass, he looks like a really scary SOB , hope you're proud of that
snow Rex is every it as good as Hasbro's version plus a bonus of being realistic style too
bomb squad looks nice and clean, great job replicating that fugly color
LOVE that Tibrian Jedi, what a fantasic use of the POTF2 IT figure and the robe that was already there, it's perfect
and that Mando is f'ing amazing!
-
Hey Thanks NFC Glad you like them!
I posted my Shadow V-19 in a new custom vehicles thread. When you get a chance, check it out and let me know what you think.

Hey everyone I am back - been working on the following customs.
Stealth Clone Trooper "Spark" and his Commander, from the Clone Wars Episode 'Cat and Mouse'..............
Commander Mag; Cold Assault Commander,......................
Pilot 'Tucker' - a late pilot from last seasons episodes......
and finally, a Sith Soldier made from a GIJoe figure.
I hope you like them - feedback is appreciated!!!!
-
Spark:
-
MAG: I also forget to mention these guys are sporting custom made weapons................................. ;)
-
TUCKER
-
And finally "Joe Sith", as I call him. Sorry for the diced up pics. I need to take more time I just don't always have it when I need it. . . . .
-
Sweet figures, Sean! I love the paint on that one pilot's helmet. Man, I have got to get some more snow rex figures.
-
Glad you like them Clint. I thought maybe I would hear from you and wanted to let you know that one of these days I am going to send you one of these 'muff heads' to cast. I just can't seem to get the close to perfect example I need. A few more times and I'll be there......
-
I still need to try and hollow out my arctic rex head and helmet to see if I can get a mold for one that will fit over a clone head.
-
After working with this one, I really think its possible. I was thinking ...if you removed the top of the 'lower' helmet, and glue the removable top in place to cover what was removed, there would be a little space picked up there , . . . . . .
-
Sweet figures, Sean! I love the paint on that one pilot's helmet. Man, I have got to get some more snow rex figures.
MORE....MORE Snow Rex's.......MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Argh!!!!!!!!
Great job Customs Dept. Love your Rex custom and the Pilot below him. I was gonna make Mag for the Custom Contest here but decided not to. A few reasons for my decision.
#1. Cant find a Snow Rex to use as the Base.
#2. Couldn't afford on if I could find it.
#3. I dont even have 1 Rex from "Trespass" yet and I have to have one for my Collection before I chop one.....
Damn Clonehead talking about getting more....Just kiddin. I am gonna order me a few from the Bay once I get my monthly check again from Uncle Sam.....
Anyways nice job bro. Clone/Clint how is the Rex helm cast coming fro the Arctic/Cold Weather anyways? Figured you would have that one already...
Let me know when you do so I can place my order.

Customs Dept,
Gonna have to look Tunghori up.
Thanks Mate!
Darth Creatine
Edited: 4/13/10
I found Tunghori and saw his "Lots" he has for sale.. So decent stuff and looking through I have ordered from him before for 5 pk. of Clone Troopers a few times for Customs.
I want to get me some of those Rex's but I have to wait until the first of the month like Food Stamps.....No but really I do have to wait because I am medically retired so I get paid the first of every month from the DoD (Navy).....I did however go to social security court last wednesday and I am "Hoping" to get that soon also so I can better provide for my family and increase my wealth in Star Wars customs and collections....
Lets keep the part in Red a Secret!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Hey Everyone, just wanted to say whats up and I have been loving the new customs posted as of late. Always inspirational for me when I get on here and take a look around.
My next posts will be an animated version of a post-clone wars Jedi Hunter Commando. My next project is doin up a Clone Wars Y-Wing to match the red bomber from the Zillo Beast episode.
And last but not least, I have finally come up with a new callsign, with help from a friend whom with I have been salmon fishing, and earned a nickname on said trip. With that said, from here on out, I shall be known as . . . . .RunDown. If you want details send me a pm, I am not exactly proud of the deed but like the name.
Sean (previously known as Customs Dept.)

-
what color orange did u use for cmdr jet?????
-
That orange is actually more of a brownish orange / burnt orange mixed from a red and a mustard yellow(the yellow used for the yellow part of the jet. ) And the red appearing on Jet is the color used in the mix as well. So there is actually only two different paints used. Does that make sense?
-
sort od ::)
-
Ok let me see if I can clarify . . .
I used a red to paint the red areas, and a mustard yellow to paint the yellow areas, and then mixed those two colors until I got the orange color I wanted. Hope this helps . . . . .
-
helped a WHOLE lot!
Thanks for the info, I might make me one of those when I get another captain Rex :)
-
Very cool stuff. I just joined recently and am excited to see others' work. I like the Sith soldier. I've got a couple made from GI Joes, also. Can't wait to see more.
-
Hey Again everyone . . .. . just finished a Commander Jet "Variant" . . . Rather than the earmuff version, the client asked for a Rex helmet with the fin shaved off and the sensorscope intact. Let me know what you think . . . .Sorry about glossiness - -that is partly the camera flash and partly me getting my Future / /Water mix correct.
-
utterly superb!
-
ok and heres one more photo.....one of these days I am going to invest in a new camera . . . . and buy more time so I can take some quality photos instead of these 'still on the bench' . . . . . :-\
-
I have quite a few Citadel paints. I also use some of the paints from wal mart. Daler Rowney and the other brand sold there - I forget the name. My personal opinion is that they seem to all have the same durability. Its really more about what is used to seal the paint. Some are thicker than others, but other than that, I really think its all about pre-treatment, application, and protection. Everyone has their own opinion though.
-
Realy nice pait job there Rundown! It's very original!
-
Very cool stuff. I know I should do more stuff with vehicles but space is at a premium.
-
Hi again everyone, just wanted to drop a line and say that I have some auctions going on ebay this week. Here is a link to the droid I entered in the droid contest and from there you can view my other items. . . . .

cool customs
-
Thanks CC. And thanks to everyone else for all the kind words. I have several customs which are days away from completion . . . . . . ::)
-
its a great custom man! :)
-
Thanks Lux!!!!!
-
what figure did you use for your custom wokie jedi?
-
It was one of the wookies from the ROTS line . . . . came with the big gold bowcaster looking thing. I don't remember exactly which but I could use any wookie to make another. I changed this ones head using some additional sculpting agent.
-
Hey everybody . . . .well its been a few weeks, but there comes my next post. 5 custom figures here, and two speeders and a v-19 belonging to one "Hawk" clone pilot over in my custom vehicles thread. All told this is close to 40 hours worth of work. As we all know, that kind of time is hard to come by, especially with a job and three kids. But hey enough on the soap box. oh and one of these days we are going to buy a better camera, but until such item can be afforded, please bear with me. . . . . .
First up is the third version of the clones from the Stealth ship of the CAT and MOUSE episode of Season Two of the Clone Wars . . . . .This is what all the clones aside from spark (shinie) and blackout(commander / /captain) looked like . . . or at least as close as I can get!
-
Another pic of the same trooper:
-
On the above clone and the pilots you will see next, the most difficult parts are those tiny republic insignias!!!!! I just can't seem to get those as good as they should be. . . . . .
Here is broadside, a late pilot from Shadow of Malevolence :
-
Side view of Broadside . . . . . . .
-
Next up is TAG, another late pilot from Shadow of Malevolence:
-
Next up is the Mandalorian Sniper (non animated) from "Duchess of Mandalore":
-
A couple more pics of the sniper and his custom crafted weapon . . . . .
-
And one more, without the gun, but showing his knife, etc. This was a joe figure with mando armor from two different figures added to it.
-
Last figure for the day; a custom camo ARF Trooper, known as "Stitches" due to the pattern of his camo. Hope ya like him . . . . .. He can be seen in another photo or two in my custom vehicles thread, with one of the speeders.
-
you need to get that earmuff trooper head to clint so he can cast it!
-
I hear ya Wraith. and I think I have finally evolved with that helmet to the point where I would be brave enough to do so without it being a shameful piece of work !! I plan on making several more s and 1 of these . . . I hereby commit to send to Clint in un-painted form so that I can quit stressing over those things. They are quite tricky to make look just right. I still hold on to the the idea that I know you or Clint could construct a better version than I can. But I appreciate your motivation and will indeed contact Clint for this purpose, as soon as I can. . . . . time for me is hard to come by . . ..
-
WOW! it's great seeing a perfectionist at work. I traced back to see what Wraith termed as the Earmuff Trooper, and you really shouldn't be so hard on yourself, it's brilliant.
-
I like that Mando Sniper. You have been

great job sean once i get all these set up im sure to send you pics of everything cause honestly your pics dont do your work justice(not being rude just truthfull) keep up the phenominal work man
-
awesome customs!
-
im in love with that Mando Sniper!
-
Rich,
Thanks for the kind words on the ARF. That camo is really not hard to do. I painted crooked vertical lines to start with - I try to think of lightning when painting the vertical lines, I want it to be somewhat random, as if the clone applied it himself. I then just makes short horizontal 'cuts' (random stripes) across the vertical. If ended up with open spaces where I didn't feel there was enough stripe, I filled it in with a tiny "x" . Once I started making the horizontal lines, it reminded me of stitches when someone is patched up. So I then tried to simulate that pattern - several short horizontal lines down every vertical line. If you decide to try it, let me know if this helps.
-
Thanks ALot Medic!!!!
-
These customs are looking good!
-
sean can wait to get the box today so i can once again appreciate that phenominal work that you do man keep it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-

I absolutely LOVE that Pre Vizsla! The GH line is prime for customizations, and very few actually do them. That looks awesome, and is making me want to go out and buy more GH figures to customize!
-

-
I love the Omega squad clones!@ I was thinking of doing the same thing as the Hasbro versions are so expensive! Do not be surprised if you see me posting some! Awesome work overall! I need to catch up!

-
Hey Guys, just wanted to say that the Blackout, Darmin, and Pre Viszla figures you see in this thread are up for auction on ebay, as of about five minutes ago. One week listings. . . . . .

-
Another pic of the 'Darmin' RC . . . . .
hey i think his micros are on backwards lol
-
ya you're right! Somebody brought that up last night! and it may be another piece of evidence that figures direct from overseas might be factory rejects!! Luckily I am able to soften it up a bit by dunking it in hot water, and flip that over!
-
awesome customs!
-
boohoo its not fair you only ship in the U.S. :(
-
Your recent customs have been looking good, Sean!
-
NO Way Wraith. I ship anywhere, my friend. That is why I put int'l bidders please contact me. The shipping will be more than what I state for the US, but I have shipped international many times.

-
Glad you like it CC. It is shipping out this morning ., . . . .
-
kool wookie bro!!
-
Quick question: what did you use to do the weathering on you Omega squads clones? To me it looks like a drybrush layer of a mid level gray. . . I am working on some and am trying to get that weathered look. Thanks for info in advance!
-
nice wookee rundown
-
You are exactly right . . . A mid gray on a very dry brush, just hitting the high points of the armor. Can't wait to see yours!!!!!
-
Great! Thanks for the help!
-
rundown man waiting for an update i know you got some great stuff in the works better tell ur best man to hurry lol
-
Hey Everyone - another short round of a few customs I have recently completed, , , , ,yes more clones!!!!
Here we have the mystery 'Sarge" of the Omega Squad I am creating. I decided to go way off he beaten path with this one, as the last pic will explain . . . . .
-
Lovely! I love the light source on the helmet. Cannot wait to see more.
-
Oh, I like him. That little light on the side of his helmet is cool.
-
Another view . . .of the pack .. .. made from various items in the fodder box!!
-
And now a group shot with Sarge's Sniper watching his back and an ARF who will be operating a soon to be completed AT RT which will be part of Ganch's squad . . . ..
-
So thats him. . . .I made Mace the Sarge of Omega Squad. I want to make him a weapon to blend in. I came up with the idea that he spent some time with the 'offspring' of a Mandalorian, to learn their ways, tactics.....and he learned enough to be the one Jedi that Jango couldn't take down.....
Next up is the Sniper of Omega Squad . . .
-
loooks great rundown man love ittttttt!!!!!!!!!!!! that mace threw me off guard but he looks great thanks
-
When they look like this!!!
You can never have too many Clones!!!
these look great!!!
Keep on posting!!!
Thanks for sharing!!

Hey Everyone,
Its been a while since I have posted; hopefully this will make it worth the wait. My first attempt at a custom stand / dio - a Geonosis 'scape. As you may notice, I used a few custom figs for the photos. . . . . . .
-
And now some closer photos . . .
-

-
view of one of the cut droids....
-
another view;
-
and just a couple more. . . .
-
last but not least. . . ..
-
cool!!
-
Really great set of troops. I especially like the orangy one. I remember seeing that trooper in a Clone Wars episode and was wondering when one would pop up. You have done a great job and I always love it when someone posts outdoor shots.
-
Thanks HB. Yes indeed that is Commander Jet, from the Landing at Point Rain episode. I have gotten alot better at him than the one on page 1 of my thread.
-
Awesome, buddy. Jet turned out fantastic and I love that little geonosis base.
-
great man!
-
THanks CLint. Everytime I make one of those helmets, I think about sending you one. But the truth is I have yet to make one that I would call 'perfect'. Finding the right plastic to use for the muffs each time is a challenge. And then getting them glued on cleanly is also tough. I have to make one that I think is so good, I want it to be reproduced.
-
Love the stand that they are on with the ripped up droid.
-
Hello all, Here is a couple additions to the JediHunter Squad I have been building for the yards member known as . . . .you guessed it, jedihunter. Stop over at this thread to see other members of this squad, and enjoy these as well. Known as Stryker and Pow, these are the pilot and gunner of a ship created by jedihunter, which I am detailing, and will be posted in my custom vehicle thread.

-
Nice one, Sean. He has just the right color scheme for deep sea stuff.
-
cool customs!
-
Have we seen that one before? I don't seem to recall it. Back on the front page. I would sure love to see an underwater dio with tons of these guys. You could even make an underwater Walker! :P
LOL. Nice custom.
-
let'sseeHasbrotopthat
-
great job man
-
nice custom!
-
Now that would be cool. To answer your question, no, I haven't posted that one before. I have quite few more from years past, I just haven't gotten back to posting them all. One by one I am going to be dropping them in here. Unfortunately I don't have many pics of each. In most cases, I saved one pic.
Anyway, glad you guys are enjoying that one.
Anyone ever seen the Clone Blaze Trooper pics? Check them out on Wookiee if you get time. That is my current project.
Oh and one last shout out . . . in the next couple weeks I will be posting a Sales Thread. Lotsa Star Wars items, some loose, some carded. I will start with a list first, then drop some pics in later. Stay Tuned and Thanks again for the compliments.
Rundown aka Sean

The above Twi'lek is 'Tott Doneeta' from the comic books.
Below is a pic of a Gunner Commander

Cassus Fett. This was an early custom, take it easy on me!

Teti Veba - Mandalorian, again from a few years ago.

Ord Eniscence, from this years Clone Wars episode - 'Holocron Heist' - now this would have made that battlepack more exciting than four re-packs!!!!!

Legacy-style versions of Hawk and Axe, two pilots from the Clone Wars . . . .

Ben Skywalker: son of Luke and Mara . . . .

great job
-
Great customs man!
-
Sweet figs, Sean! There is something about the paint apps on the Mando that I really like. I may have tto try a similar paint scheme.
-
Really nice group of customs Run Down. I like so many of them it is hard to pic a fave.
-
THanks again guys, for all the kind words. FF, Clonehead, Luke, you know you guys are just some of the best around here and your work inspires me to keep on trying!!! Luke, have you gotten around to those pilots waay in the back of the room during the briefing? "Grizzly" can barely be seen way back and he belongs in your dio!!
Thanks again,rd
-
Great update. I too like the Mando. I like that Jedi too. Back on the fp.
-
haha yea I have seen him. You are right he does belong in my dio. I have no idea what head I could use, would have to sculpt that hair and beard. ;)
-
I used fabric paint to make the beard, it becomes easily trimmable when cured. I forget the name of the figure I used at the moment, but he was in the Saga Gold line.....
-
those look awesome O0 O0
-

some smooth looking customs mate
-
All of them look great, but I am really digging that Clone Blaze Trooper. I didn't even know they existed, but man I have really been wanting to see some clones in exo skeletons or mech type suits. I think this looks great. On the front page.
-
Man bro those blaze troopers are really really good great combo of parts truly awesome!!
-
RunDown your last two pages are all awesome. I love the stealth sniper the green clones and the massive armored clone whatever he is. He looks like a one man or machine wrecking crew. Good job!!!!!!!!
-
Man that is an awesome group of updates you have done! Love the Blaze Troopers and I have been regreting not picking up a few of those IM figures at clearance. The RC's look great and I really like the green color schemes. Well done!
-
that first blaze trooper uses one of the HALO REACH figs as a base doesn't it? looks realy realy good. VERY close to the original design:
(from wookipedia)
realy good work bringing that guy into toy-form. I'd like to see a photo of him standing next to an animated and a legacy clone if you don't mind, for a better sense of scale.
-
very impressive RD
I think you are the first person who made a Blaze trooper custom and both versions are awesome.
The other customs are outstanding as well, mainly the weathering of your customs impress me again and again.
great job
-
that blaze trooper is out of this world mate !!
-
I'm loving those Blaze Troopers! They look so nasty!
-
A BIG Thank you to everyone. Your replies are much appreciated. Spuda - I will get a comparison picture in here when I take some photos again, in the next few days. Yes, the smaller of the two was a Halo figure. The larger, an Ironman figure. Perhaps not quite the right proportions, but once I started messing around with it, well, I think everyone here can relate. It had to be done.
Glad you all like it. Wraith, Fiala, Beige, CS78, Tamer, kreeper2, Luke, Thanks for the kinds words. And once again, Thanks for the Front Page.
-
they look really nice !
-
amazing job on those troopers
-
Holy cow, I love everything that you posted in the last two pages. Yep, that blaze trooper rocks.
-
Great customs!!!
Love the paint and weathering!!!
great stuff!!!
Rich
-
you finally found a use for the halo figure outstanding job rd i love it !!!!!!!!!!
-
Hey Guys, Call me crazy, or perhaps other names will come to mind .. . . but . . . .
in honor of and inspired by, one of my favorite female body parts, and the fact that it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and CloneSniper78's nice work. . . . . heres mine. Like it, hate it, either way, part of the sales are going to Breast Cancer Nonprofits.
Heres the link to the ebay auction for this trooper:

I like it! It is very well done and look at that weathering! All I can say is "Save the Ta Ta's!"
-
yep we all love boobies! great idea rundown !
-
Ha! Thank Wraith, Luke! Glad you like it. I seen CloneSniper78's Leia, and thought about all the pink things I see every year when this rolls around, and abracadabra . . . pink clone trooper. I never thought a clone could make me think of . . .well you know . . . .but this one does!!
-

realy good work bringing that guy into toy-form. I'd like to see a photo of him standing next to an animated and a legacy clone if you don't mind, for a better sense of scale.
actually they are both im figures no halo used in the blaze troops : )
-
ya you are right. i am still learning the other lines - always have been SW faithful till now. Another idea on those blaze troops would be to use a 3 3/4 inch ironman figure to make them. They are a bit taller and might look better in-scale.
-
Hi everyone, I'm baaaak . . . .
with Captain Keeli from the 'Supply Lines' episode of the Clone Wars series . . .
Here is one pic. I just can't seem to get them small enough in size to fit in here.
Here is the link to the ebay auction where you can see more pics, along with my first attempt at a HALO custom.
I am also working on another Keeli, along with the Jedi General from the same episode, and some of the clones as well. These will soon be for sale as a custom BATTLE PACK! Stay Tuned!

commander Keeli looks great RD
the paint job is fantastic
-
Thank you Clonehead, Fiala, Lucasclones, Lux and Wraith. Yes, Clint, that paintjob was tedious. It took me several hours and I am still not real happy with it. Hopefully when i finish the second one, it will be a little better. If anyone has time, I need to learn how to get my pictures smaller in size to fit in here. I just can't seem to get the size down, no matter what i try. Thank you.

Hey everyone - here are some pics of one of my latest customs....
Jedi General IMA-GUN-DI from the Supply Lines episode of the Clone Wars series.
I used a Nikto Guard hands and head and transplanted them onto a SA Kit Fisto body. I am pretty happy with the outcome......
-
Indeed man this looks so cool!
-
very nice indeed about time some one made him.
-
awesome job as always rd !!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Yes, very nice! It looks just like him! Well done.
-
that looks amazing
-
I love it when folks can make something eyecatching out of skinnies.
-
Thanks everyone for all the kind words. Much appreciated. rd
-
Hi again to All:
Here are the results of some of my latest work.....
-
nice ig!
-
Meet Helios 3D, one of the Assassin droids who accompany Cad et al in the Clone Wars Cartoon series.. . . . .
-
Next up is a Kit I built from some pieces and parts lying about. Added some paint to match Fil since they once served together.
-
Back view of Kit
-
Good work on Helios. Where'd that rifle that he is carrying come from? I'm a sucker for big guns!
Kit... Once again, you've overhauled a Skinny into something that looks non-Skinny. Kudos! I'm wondering if giving him a kama and thus hiding the proportions of his legs is a contributing factor to that... hmmm.
-
Sweet Jedi.
-
The big gun is from the Nikto guard from TRU. He carries the same rifle many of the bounty hunters are carrying this season.
Thanks for the comment on Kit. The cloth cape I used is from the original Clone Wars line - Saesee Tin with the broken horn.
That figure has very little articulation, but comes with some really cool parts and pieces to use.
-
Nice jedi man!
-
Thanks for sharing! Now I gotta find me one of those Nikto's... ::)
-
i love that kit
-
very nice. I especially like your Kit figure. I hate to admit this but I'm not a big fan of the Clone Wars toy line. BUT I do appreciate and enjoy everything you and the other guys have done with them.
-
Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and Happy New YEar to all!

the Kit Fisto in Clone armour is phenomenal RD
the markings are very sharp and accurate
-
love the Fisto mate ,everything looks minty fresh!
-
Awesome customs!!! What parts and paint did you use to make for Ima-Gun-Di. Any help is appreciated.
-
Hey Rundown! Nice assassin droid...are you going to paint the little designs on master Dai's tunic? I saw another one that this guy did on you tube recently and he had the little designs on him and it just made the figure. He is awesome I am thinking of doing one myself!
-
First off Thanks for all the great comments. LC, are you talking about the little designs all over his brown tunic? Yes I did see them. On these first two, I didn't add those. I considered but didn't end up doing it.
Regarding the parts list:
Head, hands and rifle from the TRU exclusive Nitko guard.
Body is the 2010 version of the CW Kit Fisto.
The hardest part was taking the 'pegs' from Fistos hands and transplanting them to the Nitko hands. If I do it over again, I will just wittle down the pegs on the Nitko's hands so they fit into the holes on kits arms.
When I transplant a ball jointed head, I drill out a small hole in the center of both the peg and the neck. I then glue a wire or thin plastic piece into the hole of the neck.. Then when I glue this to the body, I have the extra holding power of that peg-in-the-hole. Have never seen this technique fail. I know some people out there are leary of transplanted necks / heads, so thats why I described this.
Hope this helps on the construction of IMA. oh and by the way to add the extra chin horns which are present on IMA but not on the Nitko guard, I use the paintable fabric paint. This can be shaped easily when it is first applied. After it is dry, I add a tiny amount of crazy glue to protect and hold it. Then I paint all the horns to match in color.
RunDown.
-
Regarding the paint, there wasnt much used, but all my paints are either Citadel, Model Masters, or Tamiya. a reddish brown was used on the head and hands, a dark brown for the tunic under his tunic lol, and a little black on the boots and white on the horns.....
-
Hello again everyone! Here I have for your viewing pleasure, the result of my latest work, which has been little as of late. Hoping to get back in! feedback appreciated. a legacy style flamethrower trooper................
rd

I am loving that Arctic Rex. Well all of em. I look forward to seeing more additions to this thread!
hey, RD how do you make the ear muffs on jet
-
Nice customs!!
-
Hi there Remus. For the muffs I used various pieces of plastic. I have tried alot of different items, but the important part is finding plastic that is the right thickness. From there I use an allen wrench to trace the 8 sided shape of the muff. I cut that out. Then there needs to be an angle to the top, so that is tapered. I go around the edges of the muff wth a razor, cutting an angle to the edges. Its very difficult to get all the edges and each side to match exactly. Alot of trial and error! After that, I shave the raised sides of the helmet off, to create a flat area, then i carefully position each muff, and glue it on and paint. Again very tricky to get them exactly to match on each side of the helmet. I have found that many helmets are not exactly symmetrical, which makes it really hard to get the muffs to match on each side. Good luck!!
-
Hey Thai, whats up bro? I lost your email address in my yahoo account. Just wondering how been man give me a shout when you get time!

Hey Everyone, Been a while since I have posted.....I have been on a long journey thru Jabbas Palace. I'll explain more as I post pics........
-
nice!
-
Above is "Fozec" - one of Jabbas most trusted guards. Along with a POTF Gamorrean, re-done with the details of the ridiculously hard to get ahold of Vintage version. All told I have created a dozen of the more obscure residents of Jabbas Palace. This has been a four month project for me. Watching ROTJ more times than I will admit (only Sith Happens knows my true knowledge of this movie, lol) and alot of research on the net. Next up is two of the other dancers. Jess (wearing blue) is primarily seen when Leia is entering the palace, coming down the steps, as as all the patrons advance toward the steps, when they hear the ruckus. Laudica can be seen when Leia is standing with Chewbacca, talking to Jabba. She is in the background right between Leia and Chewie....... Admittedly, these two could be alot better~!! I used primarily fodder for the two gals.........
More obscure details and figures to come ! Check back this week! PS these are for sale as we speak, on the evilbay.
-
looking good rd !!!!!!!!!! ;D
-
very cool.
-
That Fozec looks great! What is the parts breakdown on that guy?

Cool ones!

Hey guys I seen Wraiths frontpage of one of the clone cadets.....so I thought I would post a WIP pic of the Domino Squad I have been working on. Great minds think alike lol!!!

-
Very nice work with the numbering of the Domino Squad. I thought about doing that too as I keep seeing Hevy everywhere. I was thinking maybe Hasbro will do a Battle Pack with the whole team minus Hevy.
-
Awesome customs and the detailing on the squad is super cool :o ()rr
-
Well I know one thing that will be on the fp tomorrow.
-
Jabba looks great: all slobbered up and ready to die! Nice presentation of Slave Leia holding the chains as she does the deed...
Your two Jabba goons look awesome! Your paint apps make these guys not only sound slimy and no-good, but they actually look it too.
Nice work!
-
That last pair of Jabba's goons turned out great! I like leia with the chain for Jabba. That arf sure looks interesting as well.

Awhile back I had told Tamer I wanted to contribute the MM Fund. I decided last night, this Arctic Rex is my charity auction. I've listed it as a buy it now on ebay. Once sold, the proceeds will be sent to Tamer.
RIP MM.
Rundown
-
Thanks Wookielover, I love all your stuff...presentation, collection, videos. Great way to lift up this thing we call a hobby:) I wanted to give the 'rundown' on the Arctic Rex. Its a McQuarrie Concept Snowtrooper, lower legs replaced with Legacy Arc Trooper version. Also cut off the kama, leaving the belt, and attached the ARC trooper kama in its place. I am really happy with the result. I have one more concept snowtrooper, and I think the next one will be Arctic Wolffe....standby :)
-
Great work RunDown! That is one sweet Rex! I love the idea and look of Rex in this gear.
-
Wow, how gracious. Thank you. If you can get me that link I would love to put that information and the link on the front page as well as a link on my facebook profile. That is really cool RD!

Hey again everyone; I have a few completed projects I will be posting over the next couple days....for now ..heres #1: Commander Taun. The name and graphics on him are inspired by the Taun Taun!! Enjoy.

This figure was originally a Clone Wars Coruscant Trooper, using ARC Fordo's pauldron and a Rex kama. I also added a pouch to the front and two of the ammo canisters from the airborne trooper as well.......

Very Cool!!! ;D

Man I love that Gree. I am tempted to make one myself. I also like the red trooper Taun. The taun taun inspired design is great. Reminds me of Bantha squad. Nice work on those spirals.

Cool commander !!

Your armor designs are very creative

Very impressive clone commander man, i really like it!

That's a nice figure! ;D
-
Bravo on Commander Taun. That guy just looks sharp!
-
Nope, no masking tape. but I will give you one secret. I paint the lines as best I can...and go back over them repeatedly, lightly scraping away crooked edges with my exacto. (and I mean VERY lightly, so as to only remove paint and not scrape into the plastic.) I just keep doing this over and over (and over and over) until I am happy with the lines. This commander and the two others I will be posting soon have taken more than a month to get them to the point I am happy with them. Glad everyone likes him. Thanks!!!!!

do the same trick with the xacto and it works very well. I like to use one that is dull as it will not cut the plastic and if the tip is broken off it works as a mine paint scraper...
-
Yes Good point LC. Heres the next Commander I mentioned. This one is inspired by the latest version of "Wolffe" on the Clone Wars. Again used Cloneheads resin cast ARC helmet, an ARC Fordo body, Wolffe head, and for the jetpack, I used a Mandalorian Warrior jetpack, cutting and lowering the center rocket. The paint job has taken me over a month of scraping, painting, etc, until I am finally happy with it. Hope everyone enjoys it as much as I enjoyed making it. Next up, my mando for the contest.
-
I forgot to mention I used a Jango sensor scope for the helmet.....
