Still working on the legs, the lightsaber hilt has some hobby wire wrapped around it's top which is held in place by a magnet under the soft goods.
Let me know what ya think.
-
Wow, how did I miss that great Astro? Problem rectified, on the front page.
-
Thanks Tamer! :)
-
Oh man! These are awesome! A mando after my own heart for sure! Love the weathering on that R2! Tamer's right he'd look good on Hoth, Mustafar, Tattooine, Kashyyyk... anywhere! Can't wait to see what becomes of your armored Kiffar Jedi!
-
the droid looks great.maybe give us some info on how you did the weathering if you don't mind.the WIP is looking good too.
-
I like the direction you're heading with the Vos/Mando fig; can't wait to see your finalized version.
-
Thanks for the replies everyone.

It's a drybrush with some silver, I use a thicker brush with some coarser hair, I just make sure there's only a slight amount of paint in the bristles and apply a firm back and forth motion where I want the weathering. :)
-
That new astromech looks awesome! I'm also diggin' the use of a magnet to hold on the lightsaber. I never thought of that before...I usually use magnets to hold on backpacks so they are swappable between all my customs.
-
Your astromech...it looks stolen. I am going to half to confiscate it.
Lol, this astromech is like a character from a Charles Dickens novel. Poor thing needs a little tlc.

So I recently picked up the "Discover the Force" Aurra Sing from Wal-Mart and was disappointed when I pulled her out of package. Her legs were very short and she looked to me really miss-proportioned, so I boil and popped her legs and replaced them with the CW Aurra Sing legs. I think this helped tremendously with her height and overall look of the figure. I need to touch up the paint just above the boots to have it match better, but I am pleased with the results. Let me know what you guys think, cheers. :)

My girlfriend got me an HK-50 for Valentines Day, I didn't care for the blue color and wanted to make it look more like HK-47.

-
Wow...That droid paint job is amazing. It really looks like it is made of rusted metal. Great work.

It's been a while since I've posted a custom figure so here's on thats been on my bench for the past couple of days. One of my favorite marvel characters is Ares, so I wanted to make my own rendition of how I think he would look in the Star Wars universe.

Recipe:
Torso = War Machine
Right Arm = Retaliation three pack roadblock with camo removed
Left Arm = Rise of Cobra Heavy Duty
Lower Torso = Arti Destro
Legs = Rise of Cobra Duke Accelerator Armor
Belt = Anakin
Helmet = Clone Wars Captain Argyus
Head = Retaliation Firefly
Still have a few tweaks to add to him and I plan on loading him up with a ton of weaponry. Let me know what you think, thanks.
-
Wow!!! Too Cool! I want one.
-
That is really friggin' cool! I love the mechanized look; it works very well for this character. Excellent parts choices; they blend together seamlessly!
-
Well done!!
-
Nice. Meant to front page this one a few days ago. It is now there.
-
nice original concept. Like the skull on the pauldron/deltoid. Is that a decal you made?
-
Thanks for all of the replies he was defnitely a lot of fun to make.

No, it actually came from a Warhammer 40k waterslide decal sheet. You can pick them up off ebay for fairly cheap.
-
Wow, this stuff is great looking. Oh, and nice use of the firefly head. You just cant beat that one.
-
Ares is amazing,great work!
-
marvelous work on Ares looks incredible
-
Thanks everyone for the replies on Ares!
I've seen this custom done several times before and I wanted to give it a shot. Picked up an extra World War Hulk from Toys R Us and repainted it to match up with the Gamorrean's green skin. I added a wash and
drybrushed a few coats of lighter shades of green. I really like how he turned out. Let me know what you guys think.

-
Oh, Heck Yeah! That is just too cool. I like everything about it.
-
Great!!! He doesn't seem like any other Gamorrean but a leader of his people.
-
Holy cow! That Gamorrean looks SICK! Nice!
-
Thanks for the replies! He was definitely fun to make.
-
This is Gamorrean! :D
-
My comments are on the front page.
-
Wow, your Gamorrean looks great. It makes the guards in Jabbas palace look lazy. If they looked like that I'm sure Luke would have had more trouble with them. ;D
-
Your Gamorrean looks great! I love seeing these guys pop up. I have a few Hulk bodies in my fodder bins awaiting something similar. Just waiting on getting the head cast.
-
Thanks everyone for the comments, and thanks Tamer for the front page. Cheers everyone.
