Huh, I could have sworn I made a vehicle topic before now... oh well! Anyways, here's my first post, and it's one I hope you all will really like! As you may know, I've been stepping up my game a bit for the 30th anniversary of Empire this month, and I gave you all a little taste of my biggest project, my rendition of the Cut-away Millennium Falcon! Fortunately, I had this ready for my ESB party, though I was gluing the front of the cockpit on as my guests were arriving, talk about racing to the finish line! And so without further ado, I give you... the Falcon!

What a piece of Junk! ;D
(Love it, love it, love it......)

Wraithnine, glad you like it!
Jules, I'm especially glad you like it, since your video rendition of dirtying up the Hasbro Falcon is what inspired me to pick this one back up and finally finish it! Now I've just gotta print out some of your backgrounds and make a proper diorama out of it! I was also thinking about making a Hoth base for it, with model snow and lots of power cables / greeblies all around it. Time will tell!
-
This is Action Fleet Scale correct? I must say awesome is an understatement irregardless of whatever size this is. I love it. I can't wait to see it in a Hoth dio too! On the fp by the way.
-
i'd say this is bigger than AF scale
-
XV, hmmmm Hoth base!!!!
Also I'll be posting a link to some very cool Death Star Panels shortly, better than Nuib Niub's, I'll keep you posted.
-
perfect weathering, perfect detailing, perfect Falcon
it looks really awesome XV
I'm looking forward to see your Hoth dio

Tamer (clint?) and wraithnine (jay?): the ship is just the tiniest bit smaller than being accurately scaled for action fleet, but nobody except us would ever notice! The Chewie and R2-D2 sitting at the game table actually are action fleet, and C-3p0 is micro-machines (he came from the ewok's wooden chair with a few arm modifications!), and 3p0 is exactly the same size as the Han and Chewie that came with the model (in the cockpit)... So, if you're looking for a great Falcon for an action fleet diorama that's in scale with the one-man fighters, this one is definitely it! (Consequently, Chewie 3p0 and R2 are all held in place by double-sided tape so the scene can be changed)
Fiala: glad you like it! I can't wait to see the Hoth dio either, sitting on my kitchen table taking up way too much space like i know it will! Bwahahah
Also, I've been thinking a little more, and I am thinking that I may be able to make both bases at the same time... I'm going to try to make a nice finished wooden base with a raised lip on the outside, and make two different interchangeable inserts, one Hoth and one Asteroid (and maybe more down the road!), and hide the handles to lift them out in various little power boxes on Hoth and boulders on the asteroid! I've got quite the project ahead of me if I do this, haha!
Oh, I also forgot to show you guys another cool feature, the boarding ramp that drops down! Also added some paint chips (on the red and dark grey panels) and rust drips, but i might darken those up a bit later.

It's scruffy lookin.....just the way it's suppose to be. Good job!
-
Awesome job! Nice touch adding the figures. Really well done. If you weather it any further be sure to post new pictures.
-
Great job man!
-
WOW! This is awesome.
Can I ask how you made this?
-
Man, that is so sweet looking! Fantastic job
-
all that comes to mind is "I'd let the Wookie win!" that is some crazy detail!

Clonesniper, Luke Sprywalker, Captain Lux, Phatty, and Sten: Glad you all like it!
KesselRunImports: This is the ERTL cut-away falcon model from... uh... sometime in the '90s? I just assembled and painted it, not really anything scratch built. I did kind of have to figure it out based off pictures because I misplaced the instructions, haha! I basically gave the whole thing a coat of flat gull grey, then painted up the details (including painting all the hull greeblies silver), then weathered it! The inside was the hardest, I had to use pictures from the movie and a little imagination. Glad you like it!

Very cool, thanks for the response.

I realy like the look of this project XV. I've got an old ERTL model falcon that I've been wanting to finish for forever. I got it base coated and the cockpit put together but I never fiished the model. I wanted to add lights and maybe even sound to it but never got around to it. I have the soundboard and circuitry from an old POTF falcon that is missing most of it's parts I've been meaning to see if I could take apart and fit inside the smaller model... your progress on this is tempting me to get it out and work on it! I wish I didn't have so many other projects going!

This is smaller than AF slightly? Wow, the detail is even more amazing!
-
Impressive... most impressive the attention to detail is fantastic!!!
great job mate!!
